Working with Projects Construction on the remodel of my 1940s home was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The project included raising some ceilings, a full kitchen and bathroom remodel, plastering and new lighting throughout. The end result exceeded my expectations – my home feels completely transformed while still honoring its original character. From planning and budgeting through construction, everything was seamless., organized and enjoyable. This was my third home remodel, and without question, it was the best. Stephanie, the project manager, was a delight – communicative, proactive, and consistently keeping me informed. The entire team clearly takes pride in their work, and it shows in every detail. We bought a house that we thought was turn-key given that it had been recently remodeled. When we realized that renovations would be needed for aesthetics and safety, we sought recommendations from neighbors and friends. Projects GC came up consistently as the best and only choice for us. Because we had no significant experience remodeling a home, we didn't know what to expect or how to go about it. The women of Projects GC were stellar in every regard - communication, timing, expectation-setting, project management, vendor management, quality of the work. Their subs have been partnering with them for years and deliver excellent quality results. We moved out so that the project could move faster and noticed when we visited the site that there was always someone working on the property and the site was left clean every day. We had no issues with permitting and over two years later, we have had no issues with the work that was done. It looks beautiful and is structurally sound. We are absolutely thrilled with the results of our project and would not hesitate to recommend Projects with the utmost confidence. We would definitely use them again for any job - small or large.

Our experience with Christi and her team at Projects was exceptional and I highly recommend working with them for remodel projects of any size. We worked with them on a remodel that we originally thought would be more modest but then grew, as these things often do :), to be most of our 2300+ sq ft house in Santa Barbara. Christi was the lead estimator for Giffin & Crane, the premier high-end home builder in Santa Barbara, before spinning out Projects as her own business to do projects smaller than those typically handled by Giffin. Her professionalism and depth of experience in construction management shows. She also deservedly takes pride in being a woman-owned and managed construction company. In fact, all employees but one recent hire are women. It's probably not a coincidence that their communication skills, risk-management, detail-orientation, and professionalism are top notch, more than male-dominated construction teams we've worked with before. We found the Projects team to be professional, detail-oriented, and expert in their approach. They work on a fixed-bid/contract, which we also preferred, as it created better budget predictability for all of us. It also makes it possible for Projects to manage the dependencies of a construction schedule with more efficiency and provide a reliable schedule they can stick to. The consequence of working this way, which Christi was clear about at the start, is that it requires a lot of up front planning. Materials, fixtures, etc. all need to be selected so that they can be included in the contract. While this felt like a heavy planning load before getting started, it made the course of construction so much easier as most decisions had already been made. We worked with a designer Christi recommended, Katherine Hogarty, who did a great job of helping us with that planning process. The project itself was well-managed by their lead project manager, Stephanie, who handled all the day to day work of the many subs they had on the job. Their stable of subs are high-quality, reputable, and do terrific work. They are also responsive to Projects, a testament to the strong relationship they've built, and an invaluable asset in managing through the inevitable uncertainties/issues that arise on any construction project. The project largely stuck to the original schedule, with only minor adjustments along the way often due to change orders. Like many owners, we got more ambitious on certain things once the project got going and we got further into some of the details that we just hadn't fully thought through in advance. For example, we decided to upgrade the electrical and lighting to a full Lutron HomeWorks system that significantly expanded the scope of the electrical work. Stephanie and the electricians she had on board from Imperial Crown quickly pivoted in near real-time, even before the change order was created and signed. We're thrilled with the final outcome and the quality of their work!

Projects General did a complete remodeling of the interior of our house. Additionally the yard, front patio, exterior siding and roof were completely renovated. The results exceeded our expectations. The Projects General crew were fantastic to work with. The recommended a wonderful designer, landscape architect and a landscape crew. The construction subs they used all did great, timely work, often finding additional structural problems which needed correcting. Christi and the project manager, Stephanie Campbell, have continued to help us understand the new facilities in this house. We would certainly want to use Projects General for any future renovations.

I cannot say enough about Projects General Contractors. Projects managed a major remodel of my old Farm style House that was built in the early 60’s. The Scope included kitchen, dining room, living room, Master Bedroom and Bath plus new flooring, a full electrical upgrade and addition of HVAC and solar. When decisions had to be made or schedules required adjustment, Projects was communicative and collaborative. We cannot speak highly enough of Projects GC. Projects managed a major remodel of our 1930’s California bungalow, including kitchen, bathroom, refinished floors, a full electrical upgrade, and addition of climate control, wonderfully. When decisions had to be made or schedules required adjustment, Projects was communicative and collaborative. We were never left guessing, nor did we feel like important choices were made without our participation. What a great team! I used Projects to remodel my condo and I highly recommend them. They are truly a pleasure to work with. They are detail-oriented and quickly respond to any questions and concerns. Projects General Construction is a dream to work with. My parents had worked with Projects on some small and large projects including a gorgeous guest house renovation, so when we bought a home that was a little rough around the edges, we knew exactly who we wanted to work with. Not only did Christi, Sylvia and their team come in and make it brand new again, they stuck to their timelines, quickly worked to resolve issues that came up, and had incredible communication along the way. Every contractor they brought in did impeccable work and was clearly passionate about creating a beautiful end product. We had a Tecate tile floor with a section in need of replacement tiles and Christi warned us right away that it would be impossible to match the new tiles to the old ones. Well guess what? They pulled it off! No one would ever be able to spot the repaired section. Similarly, they built a door to our master bath that had just been an arched doorway. They had a really tight space to work with and did a fabulous job making it look like and function like it had been there all along. Our favorite part of the project was a fireplace makeover and built-in bookcase to turn a bland living room into a gorgeous and cozy space for our family. My husband and I had the pleasure of having Christi handle a project at our home over the summer and fall of 2021. Christi was organized and detail-minded, ensuring that every facet of our project was done to perfection. All of the talented sub-contractors that Christi hired were highly complimentary about working with her and several told me that she was their favorite contractor to work with because she was timely and organized. Our project was complex but Christi approached it with great expertise and a listening ear for any concerns or questions that we had. She met and exceeded our expectations in every way and we look forward to working with her again.

We worked with Projects on our kitchen, bath, laundry room remodel. Even with a global pandemic, they were able to organize all the various trades to prevent stops or delays in work. Christi Clayton and her company did a refresh of most of my house. From top to bottom they painted (walls and cabinets), laid beautiful wood floors, cleaned furniture and carpets, installed new light fixtures and plumbing. Each morning and at the end of the day Christi communicated with me and gave me a status report. She was very responsive whenever I called.
