I picked Renovation Design Group based on the reviews for an extensive remodel / addition and sadly was disappointed in my experience. The initial design process went okay but the process became arduous after that. The presented plans included changes that were never discussed including changing the layout of a bathroom not being remodeled, closing off an area, also not part of the discussed project, to create another bedroom, and changing the width of a hallway that would make it impossible to use the garage. I was also initially told that I could not add on to the front of the house due to zoning issues. This is not true. Changes that were discussed were not instituted even when the final plans were presented. Timelines that were stated were not met and communication was slow.

Our 45 year old home needed some updating. Renovation Design Group was sensitive to what we were trying to accomplish and had many suggestions to improve that which we had in mind. Our company completed a basement dig-out in 2016 for a client where we converted a 6' deep basement to an 8' deep basement. Our client hired Renovation Design Group directly, but the plans were well drawn and well thought out. Our client enjoyed their experience with them and we enjoyed working with plans that were well done.

Annie listened to all of our concerns and needs and she incorporated everything we wanted. She even alleviated our structural concerns and was willing to converse about the details through the entire process. The drafters and office staff were amazing to work with, too! We have an older home and other architects recommended that we not make any updates due to challenges with old construction. This team knows how to deal with older homes and did a good job working around those challenges. They don't shy away from a challenge.

We hired Ann as our architect for a new home construction project. Ann did an excellent job. She was very good at listening to our ideas and then putting those into the layout of our home. She was also very detail oriented and did not miss anything on the layout of our house. I would definitely recommend Ann and Renovation Design Group to anyone looking to remodel or build a home.
