Sims Construction

I live on the east coast, and I'm working with a local architect contemplating building a new home using SCIP panels. As Richard Sims is one of the leading experts in the US regarding SCIP, I contacted him about the project, and have spoken with him a number of times. He has been extremely helpful to me as well as my architect. He always takes our calls, replies to our emails, and continues to be instrumental in sharing his knowledge and experience. Richard of Sims Construction is a top notch carpenter. He is very detail oriented. His attention to detail is unmatched. He keeps a clean working area which is normally unheard of for a carpenter.

I first enlisted the services of Sims construction in 2003 to complete the work of a difficult log home that was beyond the comprehension of the original carpenters. Much effort was needed to remove and reinstall all of the beams, collar-ties, and gussett-plates. Once the structural issues had been fully resolved, I retained their service to complete all of the interior trim, stairs, handrails, etc... The end-result was magnificent, and the homeowner was able to say at the end of the project that his home was even more beautiful than he imagined it would be. Since that time I have enlisted their skills predominantly as finish and trim carpenters. Richard, the owner of the company is undoubtedly the most talented carpenter I have ever encountered.

I have worked with Richard Sims on several projects. All have gone well. His knowledge of both interior finish and ground up projects is amazing. I have seen two houses he has built from the ground up. One is a new construction design using concrete SCIP panels that was built very green including Geothermal for heat and cooling, The house he built before that one was a $ 2.5 million property with extensive and elaborate interior trim and details. He believes in customer relations being the basis for success. Starting with proper planning and continuing throughout the project with ongoing daily communication with the client. Dave Bayes
