I could not recommend R.J. Spann more highly. Rick and his crew have recently completed construction on an extensive remodel for clients of ours and we could not be happier with the outcome. The project was very customized and somewhat complex yet the craftsmanship is outstanding. Their judgment is excellent and they asked questions well in advance of needing the information so that we were able make decisions at the right time and not hold the job up. I hope to be able to work with them again!

RJ Spann built our home for us about 20 years ago and we found them to be very professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We got a quality home in which we've been very happy. Last year we called them to remodel our kitchen and once again they exceeded our expectations. I would call them again should I need other work done. I highly recommend them.

Three times is the past 20 years R..J Spann has helped me update a three story home built in the 1920s. In 1996 the large demolition and remodel took 5 months. This included seismic retrofit, crane with I beam, all new electrical and plumbing, duct work for a forced air furnace, total kitchen and bathroom remodel, and a new roof. His crew and subcontractors were very friendly and professional. Four years later we upgraded with 18 new dual pane windows with stucco and dry wall repair. Interior painting and matching the exterior paint finish to a decorative glaze. The most recent effort included trenching along the exterior foundation wall to repair water damage to the sill plate and install a waterproof membrane and French drain. I have been very happy with all the work and have referred R.J. SPann to several others.

R.J. Spann was engaged to put a combination heat pump and air conditioner in my condominium, and to install mirror in the master bath. The condominium was our second home and we were not present during construction. Rick's crew covered everything including the artwork on the walls. The construction was flawless. The ceilings were repainted and the place cleaned. When we arrived, everything was just as we left it except now we had fully functioning heat and air and a programable thermostat. The unit was installed on the roof top and completely hidden from sight. Needless to say, we were very pleased with Rick's work.

Rick took time to find out what we wanted and its affordability. He made timely suggestions and recommendations with options where possible and full and accurate disclosure of changes in time of construction and any effect on cost. We encountered an unforeseen structural condition that could have killed the project without the innovative solution that he proposed and implemented. Rick discovered the problem, provided photos to show it, contacted a structural engineer to confirm it and receive approval of the remedial work and delivered the area as designed. All cost parameters were honored; there were no surprises. . Post-construction follow-up was excellent. We heartily recommend this company.

We have had several projects completed by RJ Spann since purchasing a home on the Mesa in 2012, all with excellent results. The house was built in 1948, and Jimmy and his crew corrected structural issues they encountered throughout the project with minimal cost impact. The before-and-after transformation was amazing. The scope of the initial project was to fill in a step-down living room, reconfigure a wet bar into laundry storage space, update bedroom closets, install window trim and crown molding, paint the interior of the house, and install new carpet and hardwood flooring. Jimmy Spann saw to it that the project was completed quickly and all work was top quality. The next year we hired RJ Spann to paint the exterior of our house, replace the roof, and install a new garage door. The crew corrected a number of critical structural issues relating to the way the existing roof and chimney had been incorrectly installed. We were again thrilled with the results. The following year, we hired RJ Spann to install granite slab in our kitchen. Again the work was outstanding—a very large corner peninsula was fabricated from a single slab to avoid seams. Rick Spann oversaw this project and results were excellent and work was completed on time. Rick and Jimmy Spann and the RJ Spann crew are highly professional. All subcontractors were knowledgeable, proficient, and friendly. They also demonstrated a high level of integrity. Often we were living in the home during construction, and we were very comfortable with the crew and level of professionalism. We would recommend RJ Spann without hesitation.

Rick Spann and his team have done multiple projects in our home. From our kitchen to the master bedroom/bathroom to our family room and 3 more bathrooms, he provided great design ideas and was respectful of maintaining a flow throughout the house. His team and subs are excellent. Our trust level is very high and the quality of work beyond reproach.

We hired RJ span to complete two bathroom remodels done at separate times. The remodels were really gut jobs since each bathroom was reconfigured--bathtub and sinks moved to different locations in the master bathroom and an old tub/shower combination converted to a large shower enclosure with a bench in another bathroom. The work was done in a timely fashion; any issues were settled quickly and agreeably. The work crews and subcontractors were professional and respectful. We plan to use RJ Spann for another upcoming remodel.

From 2012-2013, Rick Spann was the general contractor on the remodel of our second home in Montecito, California, a 4-bedroom 1950's house. The project involved replacement of most of the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as well as the roof, a complete remodel of the kitchen, the addition of three bathrooms and a separate rec room and bathroom next to the carport. Rick and his fabulous foreman, Greg Munoz, did a great job from beginning to end. They were the central members of a talented and congenial team that consisted of me, the architect, the landscape architect, and our property manager. Rick is very knowledgeable and experienced. He often came up with practical solutions to tricky problems, and several times saved us from making bad design decisions. His subs were all excellent. The project took a long time because my husband and I kept adding to the scope, but Rick and his team worked quickly and were not responsible for any delays that I can remember. We have been delighted with the end result and are grateful to Rick for his good work.

Rick Spann and his company did a complete reconstruction of our 1975 kitchen. We were extremely pleased with Rick, his basic crew, his subcontractors and all who worked on our kitchen. Each day the work site was cleaned at the end of the day which was important to us since we were living in the house using a Coleman stove in the garage and had moved the old refrigerator into the garage also. We were kept up to date on any changes to the original bid and were asked in advance to approve their costs. The completion of the work and his team's advice on changes to the original plans were both on time and well conceived. We could not be more pleased to highly recommend R.J. Spann for any construction work, no matter how big or how small to all concerned with hiring an honest and reputable contractor.

My wife and I did a major remodel of our family room, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms, and some cosmetic work and closet work in 4 bedrooms. And although there are always bumps, glitches, hurdles, and obstacles as well as over-runs, we are still pleased with the results over 10 years down the road. And the work was done while we remained in our home with our children.
