Seek, Design, & Remodeling came out, and before any measurements or walk throughs were made, we ended up having a meaningful conversation about life in general. It was a good conversation. After that, they began listening attentively to what we wanted remodeled. They started to draw out the rooms and take measurements. They jotted down very detailed notes of what we wanted as we walked through each room. I kept glancing at the notes and I was able to understand all that was written down. They explained what would be done during the remodeling process as we visited each room. Once the walk through and notes were completed, I asked when we would get an estimate. I was amazed to hear that they would have it in about two hours. I was skeptical at first, but true to their words, I had a very detailed estimate emailed to me. Everything was precisely written down and noted. I showed my wife the quote. She felt comfortable with it. She asked me how I felt about the process I just went through with Seek and I explained to her that all was good. I told her I didn’t think we would need to haven anyone else come out. Although I did reach out to another company for good measure, it just felt right with Seek. We gave them a call and told them we were all in with the remodeling. Communication from that point on was fantastic! They explained what to expect through each phase of the remodeling. My wife and I are not interior designers and we were actually dreading going to a design center to select things for the remodel but Seek made it very easy to do. They visited us and brought along a paint swatch so that our kids could pick out the colors for their rooms. They told us where to go to pick out materials but at the same time we were showed pictures of previous builds and one stood out to me. I told him I wanted the exact shower design and tile in that picture. We didn’t have to visit a design center which made this part easy for us. The professionalism and craftsmanship of the workers that came out to do work on the remodel was great! We received daily visits from Seek to make sure all the remodeling was being done correctly. Customer service was fantastic! The end product surpassed our expectations! Our kids loved their new rooms. One thing as a homeowner, is that once we find a company that does great work we stick with that company. Seek, Design & Renovation is a company we will continue having come out for all our future remodeling. Next up will be our kitchen remodel and we will have no problem given them a call back to do that work! Don and his contractors were very professional, completing the entire job within the timeframe provided (they actually finished a day or 2 earlier than expected). I chose Seek Design and Renovation to remodel both my master bath and guest bath. They were very reasonably priced compared to the four other estimates I received. The projects started on the agreed upon time and finished in the agreed upon time frame. I was kept informed of what would be taking place on each work day. all of the craftsman were professional and courteous and kept my home and property neat and tidy. Each day the work area was left in as tidy condition as possible. The quality of the materials and workmanship was above average and the attention to detail was great. We had Seek Design & Renovation come back and do our house's second bathroom this spring (2021). One thing that speaks volumes about the integrity of this business is that they remained committed to serving us as customers despite getting a surge in business following the Houston area freeze. This project was considerably smaller than our first, and it would have been easy for Seek to put it off in favor of larger freeze damage projects. They did not, though, and stuck to our original project schedule. I would still recommend Seek Design & Renovation to my friends and family.

I hired Seek Design & Renovation the first week of May 2020 to do a shower renovation for my 93 year old mother, for Mother's Day. The company was chosen after getting consultation and estimates from three other companies. I had to work with Seek Design from long distance. Logistically, I live in Hampton, Virginia and my mother's property (where she resides) is located in Houston, Texas. Persons working on my behalf found, and reported, that this company was very thorough in their estimate and assessment of the project, and the representative was "a very nice gentleman". Mr. Prine was the representative, and the person with whom I had consistent contact, I found him to be very knowledgeable, professional, and considerate of my circumstance of trying to provide my mother a safe space. I was able to get a timely contract and start-up of the project. The company has excellent craftsmen, uses quality high end materials, and maintains a timeline to completion. The contract was true to the estimate cost without new or hidden charges. I was kept abreast of the project's status, and the "end product" was an absolutely beautiful and safe design for my elderly mother. Without reservations, I highly reommend Seek Design & Renovation for design and renovation projects, for all of the important reasons: excellent coustomer service and consultation, high quality craftsmanship and materials, and effective/ timely completion of work.

Seek Design and Renovation were a pleasure to work with. They executed my project with-in the estimated time frame and all scopes were completed in line with my expectations. I would work with them again in the future.

1. Promise for high quality work and pressure to sign the contract: We were looking for a good contractor for our bathroom remodel. Don Prine with Seek Design & Renovation came and was eager to get the job. We had great concern about the quality of the work (especially the tile work) and were very hesitant to commit too quickly. He promised good quality and also promised to finish the job in two weeks. He pressured us by saying that to meet the schedule we must sign that day. He also promised that they had a designer to help us. 2. Bad start: During our initial meeting we made clear that the tile work and design is the biggest challenge and asked to meet the tile man as soon as possible which he agreed to do. Don started the work without informing us about his schedule and brought several of his people but no tile man. When I asked, he dismissed my request and kept saying to let him to do his job ignoring us and resulting in a big argument. 3. Strange communication rules: He didn’t want us to communicate with his workers at all – we could not check their work or ask any questions. Every time we talked or asked questions with his workers, they were asked to immediately inform him and then he called us angrily. He claimed that his expectation for his workers was to get it right the first time, but rather than monitor and correct mistakes, he defended their poor work. We were put in the position of getting an angry response if we pointed out something amiss, or having to put up with poor quality work. His poor communication skills made it very hard to work with him. 4. False Designer claim: The name of the company (Seek Design) and the claim that they have a designer was misleading. It turns out the designer is a woman in their office who is good at fashion (per Don) and claimed that he can design. Late one day he brought the tile man and we had spent a couple of unproductive hours with Don and the tile man while he attempted to push his idea for a layout without considering our wishes or suggestions from the tile man. My husband finally asked him to step aside and let me and tile man work together to finalize the accent wall tile. With the input from the designer I hired, we and the tile man got the design done in 20 minutes. 5. The unprofessional tile man. They didn’t let us to watch the process and we ended up with an off-center floor tile layout and unmatched grout lines (See picture). Although they finally redid the floor after we insisted, the shampoo niche is not level (off by 4 mm in 11.5 inches) and it has to be redone. Due to the limited number of pictures allowed the shampoo niche can’t be shown 6. The Incompetent Painter: Don promised us a quality job, but the result is anything but quality. Although his painter was a nice guy, he could not produce quality work. For each job he tried many times and could not match textures. (Due to the limited number of pictures allowed the shampoo niche can’t be shown) He painted a wall without realizing that there were bubbles in the skim coat and an untextured patch until he finished painting (See picture) 7. Wall damage: His painter damaged the wall in an adjacent room while he was taking down a shelf. We were not allowed to interfere with him. As a result, the wall was bowed and has several cracks in it and several nail pops. (See picture) Due to the limited number of pictures allowed the shampoo niche can’t be shown. They did not repair it. 8. Incompetent cabinet people: His cabinet people replaced the cabinet hinges with hidden hinges. Many of the doors would not close properly and some fell off in our hands when we tried to open them. They made three failed attempts to fix them and finally gave up, falsely claiming that the doors were warped even though the doors did not have problems previously. They left the job unfinished. (See picture). 9. Rude and disrespectful to customers: We knew what we wanted and had high expectations. Every time we expressed our concerns, Don did not listen and was always defensive. He argued and bragged about how many years of experience he had. Many times, when I tried to talk to him, he said, “I will talk to him (my husband), but not to you!” My husband had to remind him to lower his voice all the time. 10. Cutting corners in many ways: For example: (a) To avoid adding a header they wanted to set the shampoo niche off center. (b) They did not put any protection on the floor until we insisted. Even then, we had to repeat the request but never got adequate protection. (c) They did not prepare the existing floor and did not put adequate underlayment on the floor prior to tiling. Now there is an intermittent loud squeaking coming from the floor. (d) They did not prepare the wall backer board properly. Now the grout at corner and edge of the tub has started to crack after a couple of months. Due to the limited number of pictures allowed the shampoo niche can’t be shown. (e) He tried to use his painter to do the carpentry work. We had to hire a professional to finish the work since the painter did not have the required skill or tools. The experience with Seek Design was pure misery!

Seek Design & Renovation workmanship was outstanding Out of four bids requesting to add four walls and doors to isolate our staff from the main hallways and customers Seek Design & Renovation was selected. The renovation required adding two walls and two doors on both the first and second floor of our main front office. It also required opening two other doorways to allow better access within the departments. They arrived at our facility when they said they would. Their personnel were very professional and knowledgeable on what was required of them. They did a great job of Framing, Sheetrocking, Painting and Installing the new doors. At the end of each day they did an outstanding job of cleaning up before leaving the job site. We look forward to us them again as the need arises here at our site. I also would highly recommend them on building and/or performing renovation at either home or office.

My wife and I recently selected Seek Design & Renovation to remodel the master bathroom in our home in The Woodlands. The bathroom was original to the house (1990) and we decided to completely gut and redo the whole thing. My wife and I had never done a remodel before, and Seek Design & Renovation was one of four bids for the project. We selected Seek Design & Renovation based on their professionalism, timeliness, and vision for the project. We believe that Seek provided the highest overall product quality for the price point of the bids we received. They were also able to provide a lot of guidance and professional feedback based on their experience with similar projects. Communication was strong throughout the project, and Seek Design & Renovation delivered on all design elements we discussed during the initial visit and quote. We are very happy with the results, and look forward to working with them again in the future.

I contracted Seek Design and Renovation to renovate our upstairs bathroom. They submitted a detailed scope at a good price. They performed a quality job with efficiently timing and minimal disruption. I am very pleased with the quality of materials and workmanship. I would recommend them and will consider them for future work.

This October I gave a call to several contractors to come over and give me a bid on some flooring projects as well as a complete remodel of our master bathroom. I ended up going with not only the best bid of the 3, but also the contractor that I felt most comfortable with from the start. Seek Design sent a representative who had more product knowledge and professionalism than the two other highly-rated contractors from which I received bids in The Woodlands area. Seek Design gave me an offer with a timetable for the project that they stuck to. They were prompt, professional, and most important, the quality of the work that they did was the best that I’ve had done on my home that has been nearly completely remodeled at this point. I do have a few jobs left to do on my home before I have it just the way I want it. I regret that I didn’t find them earlier for some of the work as it either took too long or didn’t come out just how I wanted it, but for sure I will be reaching out to Seek Design for the rest of the upgrades that I want to do. I’d advise you to do the same, you won’t be sorry for giving them a chance to bid on your project.

Seek Design & Renovation painted our kitchen cabinets, most of the interior of our home, and remodeled the master bath. We did not use their service of design help due to our project being on a timeline and the designer was booked (which was fine & the designer still helped as much as she could) . Overall we were happy with the work, but VERY disappointed with the painting. The custom cabinets for the master bath were not prepped properly and it shows. We pointed this issue out to Seek Design & Renovations; after 2 attempts were made to fix the issues we decided to hire a new contractor. Don was responsive, on top of his crews and will call out any flaws he sees. They are also VERY CLEAN during the process of renovating. Be very clear with Don and make sure you cover all questions and keep documentation. Their prices were fairly reasonable, but some were a bit absurd and we chose to do a few things our self. Like, removing bathroom mirrors and changing out the hardware for kitchen and doors.

Seek Design & Renovation completed a partial bathroom remodel by replacing the old outmoded tub and shower that was installed by the builder. Don Prine is the principal contact for all our work and he was very responsive to every request and concern throughout the process. The initial quote was a detailed line item listing of each step to be completed and the final number was competitive with other quotes I received. Co-ordination with subcontractors was very orderly and we were always advised when they would be arriving and what they were expected to accomplish every day. Don was present most days to monitor the work progress and update what was to occur the next day. Completion of our project was completed sooner than promised. Overall we are pleased with the final outcome and would not hesitate to use SDR again for any future projects

After getting 5 estimates from contractors I decided to go with Seek Renovation and Design. I do have to say that I did make the right decision. There are some terrible contractors out there but Seek Renovation and design is not one of them. I decided to do a total remodel on my Master bath and Guest Bath. I do have to say that it turned out beautiful! Better than what I expected. The estimate was very detailed and listed all costs and did not go over the budget. I did have one change order and this was just as detailed. Very professional work and am totally satisfied. Good job Seek Renovation and Design! I am hoping to use you in the future for some other jobs I need done.

I hired Seek Design and Renovation to complete a flooring a job. This was the best decision I ever made. SDR assisted me in picking out flooring that suited my family's lifestyle. This was the first time my wife and I used Seek Desgin & Renovation. We had SD&R remodel a shower and tub and add a ledger stone accent wall in our master bathroom, remodel a tub/shower in an upstairs bathroom, add a floor-to-ceiling ledger stone accent wall around our living room fireplace, replace a sink vanity in our guest bathroom, and update/improve our kitchen lighting. The combined cost of these projects was about $30k. We’re very picky about quality of materials, workmanship, customer service, and design. We also like making our own design, material, and equipment decisions. So, we didn’t have any direct experience with SD&R design services. Given our overall highly positive experience with SD&R, we’d definitely consider hiring them again and recommend them without reservation to others for residential remodeling work. SD&R provided outstanding customer service. They were pleasant to work with and were patient, accommodating, and respectful of last minute changes in our design choices. Communication was generally excellent. Our numerous questions about project timing, next steps, technical questions, and design choices were quickly and clearly answered. They were generally neat and orderly in their work and respectful of our property. When something needed correction, they always promptly attended to it. SD&R’s proposal was price competitive, and they provided a step up in build quality and construction methods compared to quotes we received from other remodeling companies. For example, SD&R’s quote included installation of a water-proof membrane in the entire shower stall and tub areas, whereas other companies proposed only a partial membrane installation for a similar price. While there were some minor delays with our projects, generally the work was performed in a timely manner, which was impressive because all of our project start-ups were post-hurricane Harvey. Overall, we rank SD&R in the top 10% of residential contractors we have worked with in our nearly 35 years of home ownership. Again, we enthusiastically recommend SD&R for any home remodeling efforts similar to ours.

Seek Design and Renovation remodeled an upstairs bath, master bath, three bedrooms and a loft. Communication with the company was good. We knew who was coming and when. If there was a change in schedule, we were notified. The tile work, cabinetry and granite work were excellent and we are very pleased with the results. The project was finished within the time specified even with a week of lost time due to Harvey. We would recommend Seek Design.

I recently purchased a second home near my elderly parents in anticipation of retirement in a few years. Meanwhile, I have a very demanding job and I live about three hour drive away. The home I purchased had good bones, but was in need of significant remodel and updating. I needed a pro who would independently manage the project and assist me with design decisions. I interviewed a couple of contractors before I settled on SDR. I selected SDR because of their thoroughness in the quote process and the fact that they actually queried me at length to gain a good understanding of my taste. None of the others did that. During the remodel, I was kept updated on progress and made aware of any issues along the way. I went with SDR' s recommendations on flooring, paint colors and countertop selections -- and they were spot on! My house is now finished and I love walking into this house! Recently Seek Design & Renovation remodeled our guest bathroom. This bathroom was the original design from 25 years ago when we purchased our house new. I can tell you, it was overdue for remodeling. The bathroom was taken back down to the bare studs and completely rebuilt. The old tub was removed and a glassed-in shower replaced it. A custom-made cabinet was built to our specifications and installed. The vinyl flooring was replaced with porcelain tile. All the walls were retextured and painted. A special mention goes to the Tile man. He is an absolute perfectionist. The bathroom looks amazing. Turnaround time for this project was about 4 weeks. Seek Design & Renovation came highly recommended from a friend that had his whole house remodeled by them. They were very easy to work with and had helpful suggestions during the design process that was greatly appreciated. They got the bid out to us very quickly and we thought it was very reasonable. One of the things that sticks out is how Seek Design & Renovation orchestrated the scheduling of the various crafts so that no one was waiting on another. Each time that a craft was about to arrive, I got a phone call or text as to their arrival time. In my opinion Communication is the key element to making a project like this run smoothly and Seek Design & Renovation accomplished this with the utmost efficiency. Not only did See Design and Renovation have the best price but after talking with Don we felt comfortable knowing he would do the best job. They started with demolition work, removed old tiles a dated tub and toilet. Arturo their tile guy was awesome! He was very precise on his tile work and cleaned up everything after the job was done. Don kept you informed and Arturo involved every step of the way. We would highly recommend Seek design.

I had a partial bathroom remodel and a few finishing jobs on a kitchen remodel done. Seek, Design & Renovation (S, D &R) was the only contractor who quoted the work I actually wanted done. All other contractors wanted to do a complete gut at much greater expense. S, D&R gave me a detailed quote and were fine with me doing some of the minor work (painting, etc.) myself to save money. They were able to keep my shower (saving me expense), while removing the attached tub to replace with a freestanding square tub and replacing shower doors with new frameless doors. They removed the large mirror and installed recessed medicine cabinets and added a premade linen cabinet to my vanity, saving me the cost of replacing the entire vanity. Everyone who has seen it thought it was completely new! They did a beautiful job on my flooring which included a decorative medallion. They moved the AC vent in my kitchen, and installed pendant lights over my Island, and installed my backsplash. The job went very well. It finished on schedule and Seek, Design & Renovation were in constant contact with me. They ticked each item off the list and completed on time with good workmanship and the change order for pipes that needed moving discovered after demo was very reasonably priced. S, D&R will not leave a crew at your house with no supervision. The job manager checked in at our house frequently to be sure that the crew was completing the work correctly. They will do exactly what you ask them to do. I actually kind of wish I had added a couple more items to the list, as they were extremely professional and quick.

Seek Design and Renovation did a fantastic job renovating my bathroom, including dealing effectively with a number of curveballs my 50 year old house threw their way. I've never before had sufficient confidence in a contractor to allow lockbox entry into my home with no supervision, and my faith has been entirely justified. I highly recommend this company for quality, reliability, and professionalism.

12/27/2016 We selected Seek Design and Renovation to plan and manage the complete restoration of our large(400+S.F.) below grade wine room that is a totally climate controlled space. Due to severe water damage, the entire room had to be démodé and restored from scratch. All the tile floors, sheet rocked and stoned walls and wood wine racks and cabinets had to be entirely rebuilt. They planned the entire restoration project, selected and managed all the sub-contractors,secured the necessary materials and produced a final product that more than met our expectations. Most importantly to us, they maintained excellent and continuous communication with us on a daily basis from start to finish while minimizing the disruption to our daily living space with great care and consideration. They treated our home with the same respect as if it was their own. Seek Design was hired to renovate 2 bathrooms and repair a large crack in the ceiling. Both bathroom shower areas were gutted, re-plumbed, drywall, waterproofed, re-tiled and painted. All employees were professional. One hiccup in the plumbing, but it was addressed and corrected immediately. They were the middle of the 3 quotes received. I would highly recommend and hire again.

We hired Seek to update our fireplace and our master bath as well as paint the exterior of our home. These updates involved glass work, tile work, plumbing, electrical as well as painting and all were done in a very professional manner. The tile work for the fireplace and bath looks great and we have no hesitation in recommending Seek to our friends and neighbors.

I could not be more pleased with the outcome of my kitchen updated by Seek Design and Renovation. They replaced my sink and cooktop, rebuilt 2 cabinets, added a drawer, installed a new microwave, new vent hood and sanded, primed and repainted my old cabinet doors, adding glass inserts and hardware. All of the crew members, from the cabinet makers, painters, plumbers, electrician and A/C guys, were professional, courteous and respectful of my home. And, they cleaned up their work area daily before leaving. I can be over zealous at times, but that was no problem for the owner, Don Prine, who kept me in the loop daily with what workers and what results to expect. After finally deciding to remodel my 25 year old home I contacted Seek Design & Renovation. From the first contact I had a great experience. They were very timely in coming to my house to determine what I was interested in. They provided cost and style suggestions which I wouldn't have thought of. They remodeled the entire inside of my 4 bedroom home. New floors, kitchen, bathrooms, walls, ceilings, lighting, etc. I used the optional decorator service which was a big plus and definitely improved the final results. I decided on some additional upgrades during the project and they were extremely flexible and worked to accommodate my every need. When we decided to convert our tub to a walk in shower in our master bathroom we called a few contractors for bids on the job. One was wildly expensive, another could never get us a price, but Seek Design and Renovation (SDR) were prompt and well within our budget. They started the job on a Monday and by Saturday the shower was finished. The glass is being cut but I am sure it will be installed promptly.The walk in shower is absolutely beautiful. At every step we were kept informed of the process and I am still amazed how fast it went. After the old tub and tiles were removed from the wall some rotten wood was discovered under the window, SDR fixed it immediately. It is so nice to have one company that can do everything in the remodel: tear out, framing bench, waterproof membrane, plumbing, electrical (we replaced a light above the shower too), and tile. After each days work they always left the work area clean and were very careful and respectful of the areas where they were working and walking through. I can not say enough about how happy we were with the whole project. I will definitely use SDR again and recommend them to my friends.

We contracted with Seek Design & Renovation to remodel a bathroom. They replaced the tub, put in new tile on both the walls and floor, as well as painted in the bathroom and bedroom. We are very happy with the work they performed. They are very knowledgeable and professional. Helped us pick the right materials and color combinations. The price was very affordable and the project was done in a timely manner. They performed high quality work and cleaned up on a daily basis. SDR and their sub-contractors/crews were always very professional and punctual in the replacement of a shower plan with mud bed and tile. The price was very reasonable and the estimate given was a worse case. As the work was done, if things weren't needed that were in the estimate then the cost was reduced so that we only paid for the work that was done. This was very appreciated as they could have stuck by the full estimate, but their honesty and integrity were very much appreciated. We would recommend them for small remodeling projects around the house and will have them bid on future work as well.

I called Seek Design & Renovation for an estimate on a small job, extending the patio by 300 square feet. Don came and gave us an estimate. I was treated professionally and respectfully as if it were a more extensive job. There were weather delays, but he called three times to let me know he had not forgotten us. The patio was done in two half day sessions and looks great. The area was cleaned up and all debris carried away. All workers were polite and and did an excellent job.
