Marina has completely redesigned our house. She created new floor plan, moved walls, designed the new kitchen and chose the cabinet design. She moved walls, added windows, deck, undated lighting. We hired Marina of design studio M for a high traffic, front office remodelling job. Marina responded to our inquiry promptly and courteously. She came out to look at our project and we went over what we wanted to accomplish. We needed to reconfigure our space to optimize traffic coming in and out and to update tired old furniture and decor. She had the added challenge of taking into account that a lot of our traffic issues involves dogs coming in and out (we're a dog rescue organization). I was impressed with Marina from the very first meeting, she LISTENED and listened well. She came out on a day when adoptions were taking place and she spent a considerable amount of time just observing. She wanted to understand how our process worked so that she could best recommend use of space and type of furniture that would withstand hard use by humans and dogs. As the project started to take hold, I was further impressed by Marina's consistent professionalism, knowledge and design sense. Our space is not only awesomely beautiful but now much more efficient now. Everyone loves it! I loved working with Marina so much that the real estate office I work for is hiring her to remodel a newly acquired office condo. Marina assisted me with the post renovation decoration of 4 rooms, including family room bedroom, office and den. The scope of work included furnishings layout, selecting custom carpets, wall colors and a complete suite of office furniture. She was at all times budget sensitive and on top of the schedule and performance of the vendors selected, always willing to go out of her way to get answers to questions and identify resources for the job. Design Studio M provided design services for our retail and medical offices in Massachusetts which included extensive custom cabinetry and display cases. Marina Shektman worked closely with our staff to analyze their myriad of tasks so as to best identify their needs. Her design work was all encompassing, including new paint color schemes, carpeting, lighting, furniture, and art work. To say that she transformed our offices is an understatement.
