My wife and I were fortunate enough to inherit a home close to the Siesta Key public beach. My parents bought it in the mid 1980's when they discovered the fairly unknown paradise. We enjoyed decades together celebrating on the beach and getting a break from the brutal Chicago and Jersey winters. As our family grew....we began to think about options for our great location and sought the advice of professionals. With some amazing angels watching over us, our search pretty quickly brought us to MGB partners Steve Ellis and Grant Castilow. They have assembled an amazingly talented team of individuals who were smart, caring, honest and eager to provide FIRST CLASS SERVICE. Steve provided excellent insights into critical design features and worked very well with our architect. Grant provided a very detailed plan for the construction and met every deadline (actually got us in 2-3 weeks early!). Doug has an amazing network of vendors and provided lots of choices. Gail was very organized and creative and was fun to work with during the selection process. Gina in accounting provided reports and docs in a timely manner and was quick to answer any questions we had. Of course the house never would have come together without the talents of Bob Breeden, who managed all the day to day elements of the build. He sent out weekly emails detailing progress, upcoming events and great pictures. This construction project was very special given the fact it was my parent's home. We were seeking to build a new home that would survive for generations on this special plot. It was a tall task and we are very happy to say that MGB delivered in every way in building our DREAM HOUSE!

We know how difficult and crucial it is to choose a builder. It's not just about bricks and trusses. From the Spring of 2015 to February 2016, Saint Stephen's Episcopal School's board members and administrators worked productively with Steve Ellis and MGB to build a new Marine Science Center on the school's property next to the McLewis Bayou. Steve and his team met with us weekly to ensure his team was always listening and finding creative ways to accommodate the needs for this unique project that came with a specific budget. Constructing a building that contains a high school science wet-lab, an elementary marine science classroom, a multifaceted space with a 42 X42 foot map of the waters-of-the-world on the floor, plus an open air area that contains a marine life holding tank was no easy task, but the MGB team were true professionals and made our dream space come to life. We appreciated their professional demeanor and approachable attitude throughout the project.

MyGreenBuildings took our vision of our waterfront home, enhanced it, and then brought it to life, crafted to perfection. It began with a fortress-like poured concrete framework on an expertly engineered foundation that has left us confident that our home will be the last structure standing in the wake of any hurricane. It ended with an impressive attention to detail right down to the wooden plugs over every exposed screw in the deck. The result was a beautiful home, elegant in its simplicity and livability. Stan Welch, our construction foreman, is worth his weight in gold. While exacting in his attention to the smallest details, he is soft-spoken and easygoing, qualities crucial to bringing calm to a process with considerable potential for stress. He was ingenious at bringing novel solutions to every problem that arose and inspired confidence that every possible problem could be resolved. His temperament also won the hearts of our neighbors and made the process of construction in their backyards as painless as possible. A bonus was his extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna, which he shared with enthusiasm. His contribution has been priceless. The rest of the team was also first class. Steve Ellis and Grant Castilow took us through the initial design phase from our original concept to an executable design. Becky Johnson guided us through finishing selections and provided a weekly update of progress with projections of what was to come. Doug Gratias and Gina Kiger handled the financial aspects of the project with appropriate transparency. All members of the team showed considerable pride and investment in their work.

We worked with My Green Buildings on a major remodel of our residence. (Likely more involved than building new.)The drywall was removed to the block and the ceiling height was raised. New windows doors, roof, flooring, kitchen, baths, electric and plumbing. We are thrilled with our new home and with the performance of this company. The company and staff is well organized, professional, talented and best of all fun! We were well informed during the project. Regular written reports and personal input and visits from the group. A great team effort when it came to changes and design ideas. Best of all we were way under budget! Highly recommend using this group.

We serendipitously discovered an MGB Built "spec home" and immediately fell in love with the design, quality of construction, MGB's reputation, mission and subsequently the MGB staff, as well. My Green Builders designed and built our home on Siesta Key, Sarasota Fl. It was a wonderful fun experience. Building on a barrier island has many requirements which can limit your design. Steve Ellis and Grant Castilow of MGB gave us a spectacular home on a small lot which we will enjoy for years to come. Many of our friends said it was such a stressful project building a new house. Not if you get the right team to do the job. MGB is very detailed and conscious of your time and input. Their design leader, Becky Johnson, is amazing at taking an idea and custom making it a reality. Our project manager was Derek Chipman, who saved us money on many of the details and kept us completely informed as to the progress and challenges of the project. We are the architects of a small but complex addition to an existing house from the 1930's on Lido Key, Sarasota, Florida. MGB management and crew took on the job with enthusiasm, provided great service to the owner and completed the project to everybody's satisfaction. I love the Ellis House... not only is it sustainable and environmentally sound it is stunningly beautiful. The warm open rooms bring nature inside. I love the care to every detail from maritime signs to chenille bedspreads in a child's room. The house is inviting and uber functional. We recently completed a state of the art facility to house our corporate headquarters and used My Green Buildings for the project. After a previous horrible experience building a custom home, we were reluctant to build another home. We did decide to demolish an existing home to build a new, hurricane resistant, home on a barrier island. We worked with My GreenBuilders to create a wonderful new home. We were more than pleased with this construction team...Grant and Steve are the best, and we would build with them again.

We have a 1926 home and after interviewing a number of architects and builders, decided to contract w/ My Green Buildings for the addition of a large dining room, and a gazebo in our gardens. It was an excellent decision! MGB took great pains w/ every detail to make sure that our addition accurately melded into our existing home. Both the exterior and interior detail work was magnificent! Everyday, one of the MGB partners was on site to insure that the project manager and workmen were performing up to standards. And, the construction site was always clean. We would never undertake any building project w/out MGB. Superb company!!!
