Had an amazing experience working with Carol and her team. We renovated my 1929 Tudor revival home in the Historic Floral Park neighborhood of Santa Ana. Scope included expansion of the kitchen, adding a bathroom, adding a back porch, design of a outdoor pavilion, outdoor kitchen and modification of the freestanding garage. Carol and her team did an amazing job navigating the building department and ensuring that the our full scope abided by the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Carol helped turn our worn and dated Laguna Beach cottage into a beautiful home. She designed a high-ceiling, brick floor, sun room with French doors opening to our newly landscaped back yard, and consulted on every aspect of the total renovation. She understood our desire to maintain the original 1935 cottage character and encouraged us throughout the project. We learned quickly to rely on her ideas and decisions. When we bought our new (old) mid-century modern home, we were overwhelmed. We loved the bones and the style, but there was so much to be done. We didn't know what to take on first, and we didn't want to get in the way of future developments with decisions we were making in the short term. Calling Carol from Stratos Form even before we got the keys was the best decision we made! Carol helped us by creating a beautiful master plan with phases for construction and incredible attention to detail. She considered where we would store the linens and managed to find a place for my husband's beer taps (that actually looks good!). Carol lives in a mid-century home herself, so she appreciates and always kept that style in mind. Carol never scoffed at our tight budget; instead she made it work to its fullest potential. We also had Carol design our beautiful kitchen, which involved taking down three walls, moving duct work, new beams--a total overhaul. Thank goodness we hired a designer who is ALSO AN ARCHITECT! Carol Tink of Stratos Form designed every detail of the exterior and interior living spaces of our custom home at the beach. We had worked with Carol 13 years prior with a much more limited budget and she has delivered perfectly in both situations. She really listened to understand how we wanted to live in our house and forsaw issues we had not considered. I have difficulty visualizing blueprints in 3 dimension. Carol patiently made little models of a particular detail for me until I understood. On kitchen and bath design every detail of every space was planned for maximum storage and functionality as well as aesthetics perfect for us. In our outdoor spaces Carol combined various building materials beautifully. Electrical and lighting plans, details and fixtures both inside and out is another area where Carol's work was excellent. Should we ever build another home, Carol Tink will be my first call.
