Studio 1 Architects

Studio 1 helped us with two projects: an extensive whole house remodel and a new lake home. In our primary home, Studio 1, solved the challenges of maintaining the charm of our 1920’s home, while giving us the open floor plan and exterior views desired. With our lake home we packed a lot of features into a small space and while the size is not large, the home lives big, has charm and great views! We are VERY pleased with Studio 1, their vision and thoughtfulness of design. Thank you Studio 1!

We worked with Steve and Alison for nearly two years, through design and the construction of our 100 year old renovation. Words cannot even begin to describe the professionalism, the quality of care and the passion that Studio 1 brings to a project. From beginning to end, Studio 1 is there to make sure the project is perfect. Steve not only listened to our wish list, but his sharp eye for detail brought our vision to life in a way that far exceeded our expectations. Watching our project move from “prints” to 3-dimensions really showcased why Steve and Alison are truly world class. I have worked professionally with Steve on countless projects. He is not only talented and easy to work with, but he is very creative and listens to his clients needs and wants, then works hard to produce the best design. We hired Steve at Studio 1 as our architect for a first floor renovation. He presented us with several options all of which were fantastic. His turn around with drawings was quick and he made the permit process a breeze. During construction he and our contractor and subs worked great together. He was always available for phone calls, emails, etc. I would absolutely recommend this firm and would hire them again for any future projects!

We hired Studio 1 to complete the designs for our 2nd story addition and full house renovation and Steve and Allison were outstanding to work with. They took the time to listen to our laundry list of items and produced a design that hit every item on our wish list. They came up with ideas that we didn’t know were possible and made our addition look seamless while still maintaining budget. Steve and Allison handled all requests in a very timely manner, which included submissions to the village, site visits, and consultations with our contractor. They were extremely easy to work with and really transformed our house into a fantastic place for us to raise our children. We couldn’t be more happy with Studio 1 and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Steve did a wonderful for us. He came out to view our site within a few days of calling. He suggested ideas that made the project more attractive and less costly. Plans are ready but the project will not start until Spring.

Studio 1 did a great job for me on a house in Glen Ellyn my company, Lion Pride, LLC remodeled and sold last year. Steve and his staff were timely and professional. Their design of the new floor plan was excellent. The house was on the market 5 days. I will use Studio 1 on future projects for sure.

Steve Poteracki did a great job with our back yard screened in porch design and drawings. He also completed the drawings and submitted for permit within three weeks of hiring, which blew away our expectations by a mile.
