It has been wonderful working with Sue! She really listened to us and created a plan that not only brought our vision to life, but also worked hard to keep us within a comfortable budget in terms of plant selection and layout. Sue has a great vision and I highly recommend working with her!

Sue Jacobs is not only a world-class visionary; when it comes to a design that works in concert with a variety of plant materials, her knowledge and abilities are second-to-none. Over the years, I have worked with several landscape firms, architects and designers. Sue is by far the most creative. Before she began our project, Sue came to meet with us and get to know us. She wanted to know how we engage with our outdoor space, and what we liked / didn't like about the property. She then devoted her own time to independently get a feel for the areas we want to change. In doing so, she identified several deficits of the side and backyard that explained why we weren't content with the current landscape. Once we began the project, she spent an entire day walking the property taking measurements and assessing everything from soil quality to the use of space and flow. Working in partnership with us, she created a plan for our new yard that we're confident will be magnificent. Sue gave us a cohesive plan for our entire yard, blending mature landscaping that we love with new ideas that we would not have discovered on our own. She created outdoor living spaces and recommended different options for several locations. In the end she designed a beautiful mix of natural and manicured areas and hardscape that we can implement over time. Sue is very talented and takes a thoughtful approach with her clients, and delivers a personalized plan. She took into account our lifestyle and tastes, while also bringing insightful suggestions that complimented our house and the way we use the yard. Sue is an expert in her field and we could not be happier with the final plans that she developed!

Sue is absolutely wonderful! After a full indoor renovation of my home was near complete, I decided to hire her to help guide me in creating a vision for my outdoor space before I started Phase 2. This second part includes a new addition to the home and re-workin of the garage. I live near the city with a small lot and I wanted to have an outdoor space with lots of character, color and visual interest- she has been incredible! She listens intently to what you like and don't like and is able to capture those elements into a plan that simply fits! My small city lot will be packed with WOW when it is all done. I am so excited to get started working the plan that I can now see in my head thanks to Sue's patiance and guidance. I worked with Jacobs Grant to develop a serious update to my extensive landscaping after a number of plants had died or passed their best looking life and some beds had grown too large. Sue is a fabulous designer with whom to work. She is an excellent listener and asked probing questions about what I liked to look out at in my yard...my sight lines vs hers. Additionally, she listened to and incorporated my desire to decrease the amount of bed and plant maintenance work. We developed a rework of the entire yard - front and back-while keeping some existing plants and adding lots of updates of both evergreens, flowering shrubs, perennials and a tree. She made some great suggestions for my front, which opened up and showed off my new front door. I'm doing the work in stages; but, so far, what has been completed looks much improved over the mish mash that existed. Now, the completed areas make a statement, and I have received many compliments. If you are looking for creativity and a designer who really listens to you and your likes and dislikes, you should call Sue.

Sue is an amazing landscape architect to work with. From the moment she stepped onto our property and started talking about ideas, we knew she was the right person for our home! She also offers the service of working with the contractors in the bidding process, which was a very nice thing to not have to deal with. I highly recommend Sue for your landscape project.

Sue helped us design an outdoor kitchen area. We were struggling with an area against the back of our house and wanted to improve its looks, but keep it functional. She came up with a beautiful design that we absolutely love and would never have thought of ourselves! It's both functional and beautiful and fits the space perfectly. We are still currently in the process of building the outdoor area, so we cannot provide any pictures at this time. Sue spent a lot of time with us at the initial consult and listened to all of our needs. We were impressed with her presentation of ideas and she hit the mark perfectly! She talks through her ideas and listens to input and makes changes accordingly. She is also conscientious of costs and presents ideas that are within your budget. We truly enjoyed working with Sue and would recommend her to anyone for any outdoor project!

Sue was fabulous!!! She incorporated our feedback with her creativity! We wanted a mix of low maintenance and bird friendly plants. She created a unique design. She went above and beyond our expectations. We would definitely use her again!

Sue was fantastic. We have a small home in the suburbs. Sue helped us to create a space that will meet our short and long term needs. We were impressed with her realism and the pricing made sense to us. Our site was quite unique die to the small size and the desire to have a low maintenance and lush yard that attracts birds and butterflies. Our request was also unique because we wanted a plan that had multi year phasing to manage time and money because I plan to do the work myself. In the end we have a complete plan for a wonderful project that is already brining us joy.

We hired Sue to prepare a master plan for our newly renovated home. During the initial meeting we met with Sue as a couple and walked the property to discuss our "dream". She was very receptive to our ideas. The plan was to include multiple living areas including a front walk/patio, secret garden, sunken fire pit and an outdoor kitchen. During plan development she encouraged us to share photos from online sources to help guide the process. Our meetings with Sue were very collaborative and fun. She listened, asked guiding questions and helped us realize everything we were hoping for. We told her that we wanted something special, different than the norm, and that is exactly what we got. We implemented phase one of the master plan, the front walk/patio and planting, this fall, and it has exceeded our expectations. It is perfect, it complements our home’s architecture and style and incorporates our favorite landscape plants and materials. All our neighbors have commented that the hardscape and softscape are beautiful. My only problem is that I don’t have more projects to work with Sue on! My husband and I highly recommend Sue. She is talented, professional and creative.

Working with Sue has been an absolute joy! In the past 24 years at different properties we have worked with 4 different landscaping companies, and we have never had great success coming up with master plans for us to implement over time until we worked with Sue. She took the time necessary to completely understand our property and our goals--my husband's goals as well as my goals. Sue is incredibly knowledgeable about her plants and their needs; the design she created for us suits us perfectly--it has beautiful layers and shapes, but is relatively low maintenance. Because she is only responsible for design, she wasn't trying to over-sell us on more plants/trees/hardscapes than we needed for our property. She understands the importance of taking care of details in residential landscaping, and she has extremely high standards. Since we asked, she gave us recommendations for several professionals who would take the time to assure the quality of our projects, and who would be willing to implement our master plan in stages. We've been impressed with each of the professionals she's recommended, and they know they need to work hard to keep her trust. We're so grateful to have Sue helping us with this process!!!
