Susie worked with us for over a year to transform our home into a beautiful space that we love to spend time in. We completely remodeled the kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, guest bedroom, office, stairway and open plan living areas. She has an amazing sense of space and color, and is incredibly creative while also being sensitive to our tastes and preferences. One of the most exciting aspects of the project was that Susie challenged us to try new things. As an example, she chose some bold and unusual paint colors that we would never have selected ourselves, but they look fantastic. At the same time, she has accommodated our desire for practicality and plenty of storage, while keeping the space beautiful. We were very happy with her attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile, and fair and transparent charging. She interacted with other contractors in a very professional manner and was always on the ball, keeping a sense of the larger project, planning ahead and anticipating issues, while also ensuring that the details of the work met her exacting requirements. The rest of her team is equally as professional, and a pleasure to work with, and on a personal level, we also very much enjoyed getting to know her and Rachel.

I have used Susie, Rachel and her team three times and each time they have exceeded my expectations in the creativity they bring to the spaces in which they transform. They understand our taste and have helped us create a design that we would have never been able to come up with ourselves. The SDHID team wants you to LOVE the spaces they design, and they aim for you to not be able to ever decide which room in your home you love the most. Done! I love coming home each day and also have loved the process of working with the team because they are friendly, fun, and it's just plain exciting to find out what they have in store next. The SDHID team, in my opinion, is the best interior design team you will find in San Francisco. Their aesthetic sensibility coupled with their flair for color creates interior spaces that will make anyone excited to be indoors. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time working with Susie and her team over our 6-month assignment. My husband and I lack all artistic/design talent, so we relied on Susie 100% to: 1) help us understand our budget and develop a staged timeline, 2) understand our (very different) tastes and come up with a design that is appealing to both of us and is “uniquely ours” - a task I thought was impossible; 3) make sure the design is as beautiful as it is functional, and will be able to last for years to come through several stages of life, and 4) complete the project on time and within budget, despite our crazy lives and schedules. Susie, Rachel and team brought a tremendous amount of creativity and suggested ideas/layouts/colors that we never thought of or imagined before….and while it sometimes took us a while to get comfortable with these out-of-the-box ideas, we never regretted implementing any of them. It’s very satisfying to walk into our house and feel like the space truly reflects our unique personalities, and not some design catalogue. All our friends/visitors immediately comment on the beauty and uniqueness of our interiors, ask how it all came together and start considering hiring a designer themselves. We are busy professionals, and Susie’s team was incredibly patient with us to make decisions, find a time to meet, and even helped oversee furniture deliveries, paint jobs, handled tailoring, returns, and installations…we honestly couldn’t do it on our own without their expertise, hard work, professionalism and kindness. They’re also just a fun, young, energetic team to work with. Dealing with budgets, contractor and delivery people is highly stressful, and they were always on top of it, always patient, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was handled properly, within timelines and budgets. We couldn’t speak more highly of Susie, Rachel, Kendall and Brian. We love our house and hope you get an opportunity to work with them!

Susan and her team did a tremendous job transforming our condo. They were attentive, listened to our concepts/ideas, but also pushed us out of our comfort zone which is what I think a designer should do. They were flexible in how we worked with them and always timely in their responses to questions or follow-up items. The transformation they did with our kitchen and living room blew us away. Especially, the color schemes and little touches that really made the whole area flow and pop with color. We would definitely recommend Susan and use her again for future engagements.
