From start to finish, working with Terra Nova was an absolute pleasure! When we first met Adam, we were very impressed with his marketing materials because it not only had testimonials from satisfied customers, but it also included their telephone numbers for us to call if we wanted to verify the testimonials were real. The estimate was reasonable – close to other estimates we received – but what was really amazing was when our project was finished there were NO cost overruns, NO changes in the timeline and the end product was more than we could have imagined. We built an apartment in our basement for our son, who has an intellectual disability, so he could have a little more independence. Ashley, Adam, and the entire crew naturally accommodated our son and made sure he was 100% a part of the planning process, since the apartment was being built for him. They thoughtfully used universal design to ensure that our son could live for as long as he’d like in his apartment, making sure the doors, hallways and bathroom could accommodate a wheelchair or walker should he ever need one (we didn’t even think about this but they did!). It was that sort of thoughtful accommodation that really made us swoon – they really kept our son’s needs and preferences first and foremost throughout the process. And our finished basement – WOW! We not only have an apartment for our son, but a home gym, and plenty of storage. They used every inch of space in our basement and added 800 square feet to our home. Since we live in Kirkwood, the cost of the project is much smaller than the value it brings to our home. We are so pleased with Terra Nova and will use them for every home project we have moving forward. Thanks to Adam, Ashley, Scott and the whole team! We are THRILLED with our new space and every night our son falls asleep saying “I love my new apartment.”

We did a high-end finished-wall and floor garage addition/workout space with Terra Nova Builds, and we are so pleased with our experience from start to finish. From the initial estimate meeting for the project to the finishing touches at the end of the project, we had the best experience. Shawn was the absolute most communicative project manager ever. His weekly emails that outlined what had been done the week before, what was planned for the upcoming week, as well as what was pending were so helpful in making us feel in the loop and understanding the progress. There was never any frustration when there were gaps between sub-contractors because we were always "in the know" regarding the schedule due to Shawn's excellent communication. If we had questions, Shawn responded immediately and was ALWAYS available to have a quick chat when needed. The sub-contractors they chose were all of great quality and did great work! Barrett did a wonderful job keeping the job site clean EVERY day. All of our neighbors commented on how clean they kept the work site. We are so happy with our garage addition. I would say the cost was as expected and any budget changes were well-communicated and discussed and agreed upon. The quality of the addition is sure to add value to our home, and we are so pleased with the space.

We JOYFULLY worked with Terra Nova to remodel (and reconstruct) our kitchen. They were knowledgable, communicative, clear, professional, creative, and kind. The construction quality was outstanding. Their subcontractors held the same values that TN themselves maintain. We will work with them again for ANY of our future construction work. Ours was a complicated project as it required moving weight bearing walls, rerouting plumbing and electrical lines, and remodeling our basement stairwell to accommodate our renovation plans. Terra Nova completed a kitchen and bathroom renovation for me and the experience was phenomenal! I am thrilled with the final result (great work) and was comfortable throughout the process that the team at Terra Nova kept me informed and did all they could to keep the project moving forward. I never wondered what was happening or why. The (few minor) issues encountered were addressed quickly and I was presented with clear options from which to choose. The team kept my home clean and very livable outside of the project space, and were pleasant to work with and get to know. I strongly recommend the Terra Nova team and will hope they are available if I undertake another project in the future!

Adam, Mike and the whole team at Terra Nova made our small renovation project a breeze. We renovated a small bathroom and a small kitchen. They maximized each space to its full potential with the best design. Additionally, we worked with them on a brand new garage. They made sure everything followed strict neighborhood code for a new build and the new garage is a million times better than the crumbling old garage. They were really great about making sure everything matched nicely between the current home and the new structure. They kept searching for the right brick and grout colors until they found a near perfect match for the garage exterior. Their attention to detail and constant communication was much appreciated throughout the project’s duration. I will definitely work with them on future projects.

When we purchased our home in 2011, we did so knowing that we would someday face major renovations of the original and poorly-functioning 1957 kitchen and master bathroom/bedroom. We were terrified of the expense, the logistics involved, and the upheaval of our household, especially with two young children. We hired Terra Nova Construction to renovate our kitchen based on word of mouth, and it is a decision that we will continue to relish for years to come. Mike White, Adam Schmitz, and Shawn Smith attended to every detail every day, and maintained an infectious optimism based on professionalism, integrity, and remarkable skill. They understood that ours was not a job fixing a house, but a lending of their craft and expertise to improve the health and function of a home. Every aspect of our kitchen project, and more recently, our master bathroom/bedroom project, they saw to completion with inspiring talent and tremendous heart. We are no longer scared of home renovations. Rather, we look forward to the next projects and the ones that follow, all because of Terra Nova.

We found Terra Nova through the Houzz website and we can't believe what luck we had in doing this. Adam and Mike have been godsends to us in our home renovation. We were looking for a long term partner/contractor and we are already starting on our 2nd project with them. It was to be a 90 day project, but they finished in 87 days and for us that was so important, because we were living with our young children in the basement with no kitchen. Their work is extremely high quality and we loved everyone we worked with to design and implement our plans. We truly love Terra Nova and would recommend them to anyone who will listen. We are excited to have a life long contractor we know we can count on and we have fun working with! Adam has an architectural background and that helped so much in the process. It was a pleasure to work with Mike, Sean and Adam during the renovation of our 1970s ranch. They were professional, responsive and highly skilled. One or all were at the job site almost daily, and were always available within 24 hours (usually immediately) by email or text. That didn't end after the final payment. I was very impressed at how they showed up to fix the few minor touch-ups we needed within a day or two of being contacted, even several weeks after our last check was paid. We have lived with our renovation for almost 10 months now, and couldn't be happier with beauty and quality of the workmanship.
