When my husband and I retired and moved to Lancaster, PA from Seattle, we hoped to find a building lot fairly close to my daughter and her family. Our builder/contractor suggested working with architect Wendy Tippetts and when a lot came on the market, she was there from the get-go with insightful interpretations of our suggestions. With each step of the planning process, the Tippetts/Weaver team of Wendy, Rachel Haynes and Sheldon Smoker prepared prints, drawings and design advice that incorporated our Modern Prairie aesthetic . Their professionalism and eye to detail was consistently apparent. We are now just a few months from moving in and the design has come together beautifully. We hired Wendy Tippetts and her team to design a retirement home for us on a challenging site near a river. Wendy made the entire process easy from the very beginning! She carefully listened to our ideas and studied the site extensively during different seasons to observe the changing light, mood, and views. Working closely together, we came up with an amazing plan that takes advantage of all the site has to offer. When excavation costs proved too high for some of our ideas, she quickly came up with a modified plan that we like even better! She helped us choose a builder and get a zoning variance. Her experience showed as she helped us navigate the many aspects of building a dream home, including site constraints, building codes, and coordinating work with engineers and government officials. Wendy and her team, including Rachel Haynes, have paid attention to every detail while remaining creative and flexible. They work hard to contain costs while providing choices. Their work is timely and they arranged meetings to work with our schedules. I can't speak highly enough of Wendy and her team! They have taken all of the anxiety out of this project and turned it into a dream fullfilled.
