Fenton Varney's quality of work, responsiveness, and flexibility were nothing short of outstanding. His company expanded and completely renovated my lake cottage while I was mostly absent. He put his architectural skills to work and designed the new sunroom facing the water as well as redesigned the kitchen. Fenton's quality of work in every aspect of the renovation was superior, and even now - five years later - his workmanship remains impeccable. I can not recommend Fenton Varney Builders highly enough.

We have worked with Fenton and his team for the past 4 and a half years developing our property at Garnet Point. Initially we restored the existing boat house to its former glory while working on site and building plans with Fenton for the Cottage and Lodge. Fenton's ability to provide a level of service under one roof for design and general contracting made it a smooth process for us. The collaborative effort in first developing a site plan and then progressing through each project made it an enjoyable process to watch our vision come to fruition. After seeing the incredible creativity and workmanship by Fenton Varney and his crew on our neighbor's small lake cottage, we hired his company in 2016 to redo our large deck as well as a number of other repairs needed on a 20-plus year home. We were thrilled with the results and enjoyed our "new" deck for several years before putting the house on the market in 2019. Again, Fenton was instrumental in providing some needed advice and made time for small fixes that helped with a smooth transition from listing to closing. Our home was built in 2004, by Fenton Varney, one of the Premier builders in New Hampshire. When we first met with Fenton he immediately had an understanding of what we wanted the house to look like inside and out. We found him to be an exceptional businessman and trusted advisor throughout the building process. He willingly made suggestions for improving the design and layout. He handled changes we wanted along the way with a minimum of disruption to the schedule, always keeping us informed of the developments along the way. There were never any surprises and all the suggestions Fenton offered along the way have proved to have made the home better than we ever imagined. His personal professionalism in all our dealings was admirable and we can’t say enough about his crew of excellent craftsmen who seem to enjoy working for him.

I am the proud owner of a Fenton Varney built home. This home was built for his parents originally, and when I saw it, I loved parts of it, and cringed at others. The build quality was excellent, the layout was lacking amenities which I sought, such as a large master bedroom suite, and an kitchen re-design. Fenton agreed to fix, change, and re-design the layout and make updates to my desires. He and his crew were neat, hard working professionals, that transformed this home into what my wife refers to as our "dream home"!

Built a barn-type building/garage, with work area and upstairs storage. Finish was high quality with many suggested ideas that enhanced the utility of the building. Construction avoided any center supports thereby allowing the full utilization of the interior space.

When we purchased our home several years ago, we decided to do major renovations to the current structure as well as an addition. After glowing recommendations from several sources, we decided to hire Fenton Varney. Not only does Fenton have many years of experience to draw upon, but he was a pleasure to deal with and is a very honest man. We were provided detailed estimates and plans prior to any work commencing. He respected our opinions and provided insightful guidance when we needed to make a decision. Fenton always suggested what he thought was best regardless of whether it was the least expensive option. His crew worked hard, and were very respectful of our family and privacy. We trusted them in our home. Fenton has been extremely responsive to any issues that have arisen since, even if it is just recommending a local tradesman. We recently purchased another property, and when it came to hiring a contractor, it wasn't even a question...we called Fenton.

I am an architect and live in California. I did the basic design for our house in Wolfeboro, and Fenton did the engineering and working drawings, as well as added his expertise in many areas along the way. To have a house built for you from 3000 miles away is usually risky. However, Fenton's bid, time schedule and quality never wavered from start to finish. I visisted a few times during the construction process, but his team of construction professionals was excellent, and (don't tell Fenton) I got far more than I expected or paid for. Fenton Varney is one of the best and most honest contractor's around.

Fenton Varney is in the process of designing and building a lakefront home for us. He is the perfect balance of professionalism, craftsmanship, experience and demeanor. But for his working pragmatism about site plans,the permitting process and overall design, we would have never continued to pursue our dream of building a lakefront home. A true "master builder!"
