Younique Design + Build

Younique Design + Build (and specifically Cory/Ryan) were so awesome to work with to make our forever home come true. We worked closely with them from design through completion and cannot say enough great things about the process. While some may find the process of designing and building a home fun, and while parts of it is to be sure, it is a very detail-oriented and at times stressful time. Younique and its team made the process as enjoyable as it possible could be and were true partners, always there as a sounding board to talk through our ideas but armed with industry knowledge and experience that allowed us to make decisions from a practical perspective. The result of this collaboration was a truly custom home that we are so happy with -- and they really want you to be happy. As we are not in the construction industry ourselves it was paramount that we find a contractor whom we trusted and who had our backs so to speak. We're lucky to have found that in Younique and in Cory. If you are thinking about designing or building a house and about hiring Younique, just do it. Really! You won't regret it; we certainly don't.

My husband and I hired Younique Design and Build to design, incorporate a green program and build our home. After a long, grueling process of meetings and viewing homes of other builders, we ended up choosing Younique for a select few reasons. Detail. They had the best and most detailed plans and contract which included allowances so you know how much you’re paying for materials, they utilized an online system which included all activities, milestones, daily logs, allowances, costs, etc. We worked on the design/layout and it was such a smooth process. Cory really knows his stuff - he’s meticulous, product knowledge is off the chart, green programs knowledgeable, detailed and very task oriented. Exactly what we were looking for! The devil is in the details and these guys absolutely nailed it. Everything from the paint, to the trim, electrical work, plumbing - it’s all top notch and very well put together. Communication. Every time I needed to talk with any member of the team, they answered. They answered ALL texts and phone calls right away, no matter the time or the day and always gave me the time to talk about anything and answer questions I had. If we wanted to meet on-site, Ryan was always available to be there when we needed. Honesty. Contractors these days are…. questionable. I never looked at Younique as “contractors” - I looked at them as an established business that has an amazing presence doing their part to provide an incredible custom green built energy efficient home. They were honest the entire time the house was being designed and built. They gave us our allowances on specific materials, if we went below, it lowered the bill at the end. If we went above (it was our fault, LOL!!) they added it through the online portal so I always knew how my price was being adjusted. In short, you won’t be in the dark - you’ll always know what’s going on with the house and budget. Hiring Younique Design + Build, Inc. was the best decision we could have made. You can’t get any better.

When it comes to bringing your ideas and dreams to life, Younique Design + Build is without a doubt the way to go. When my wife and I were looking for someone to build our forever home, we spent countless hours with dozens of contractors around Northwest Indiana trying to find someone that would make our dreams a reality. When we met with Cory for the first time, we knew we had found the right guy for the job. We built a completely custom home that literally has everything we asked for whether it was something big or small. "NO" was never an answer. Cory's expertise, creativeness, and knowledge of designing and building homes far exceeded our expectations. Something important to mention is that you were not treated like a customer but more so like family. This wasn't the usual cookie cutter home experience, it was truly unique in everyway imaginable. I can go on and on about our building experience with Younique Design + Build but I'd be writing a book. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
