CL Studio Architecture

We reached out to Jackie and Christine to help remodel our downstairs living area. We are very happy that we did because they did an amazing job. We had gone through a previous renovation without a designer and working with CLS was like night and day. They managed the project and made everything go smoothly (much less painful). They are very detailed-oriented and will do their best to accommodate requests while keeping the budget in mind. I would strongly recommend them if you are financially able to.

We couldn’t be happier with CL Architecture! They helped us redesign two bathrooms, our foyer closet, the kids’ closet, and even found space for those little wet boxes we never knew what to do with. They were super collaborative and kept us in the loop the whole time—clear communication, lots of updates, and they really listened to what we wanted. Their ideas didn’t just make things look nicer, they made our home work better for us. What we especially loved was how they pulled in tons of references that matched our style, so we always felt comfortable with the direction things were going. Instead of feeling stressed, we actually got excited about the process. Long story short: CL Architecture made our home more beautiful!

My project is the "Oakland Hills Kitchen." Initially, I was interested in a more superficial update but Christine presented such great ideas for a full remodel that we decided to move forward and I'm so glad we did. Our space is small, but it is so much better utilized now and my favorite room in the house. I have recommended CL Studio to several of my friends, who are also really happy with their work. The reasons I recommend CL Studio are that they have great design sense and will recommend ideas you might not have thought of, they involve you in making choices but bring you a curate selection so it's not overwhelming, and their project management with timelines, contractors, and permits is unmatched. Christine kept the timeline moving (even when I was the obstacle!), always took the initiative with suppliers and contractors to address scheduling and availability issues, and was extremely responsive. I had done a previous kitchen remodel and was fatigued by the idea of doing it again, so I really appreciated letting go of more of the decisionmaking this time and am so grateful I found a firm I trusted to take that on.

We worked with Christine and Jackie throughout the design and build phases of our project. They incorporated our feedback regarding style and budget and developed a comprehensive design package that provided direction to our general contractor for the remodel. They managed the purchasing of materials and kept us informed on timelines and changes due to material availability. We were downsizing to a smaller space and now have highly functional space. We are very pleased with the results and will use CL Studio Architecture for future projects. I would highly recommend their services.

Jackie and Christine were responsive, communicative, and they did a beautiful job with the design for a brand-new bathroom in a converted garage with a tiny footprint and also pretty tiny budget. I was particularly impressed with their detailed review of contractor bids and their excellent coordination with our contractor once the remodel began. If there were contractor questions during the construction process, Jackie and Christine were very attentive to them. The final remodel of our converted garage (that we now call the studio) was excellent in every way. We are so happy that we have a room that is both elegant and functional and that guests love to stay. Our backyard is now a true oasis for us and we enjoy it daily. I would highly recommend CL Studio Architecture - they did an outstanding job envisioning exactly what we wanted/needed and executed it on time and on budget! Five stars!

It's been half a year since the renovation was completed and we are still in awe with how stunning everything turned out! As a first time homeowner in the Bay Area, renovating almost the entire house was a little nerve wracking but Jackie and Christine were both so easy to work with and knowing that they were there throughout the journey put our minds at ease. CL Studios exceeded our expectations in every way - the design process felt very collaborative as they truly listened to our needs and understood our aesthetics while still making the space functional/practical for everyday use. They were very responsive to the many questions that we had and accommodating when issues arose or when revisions were needed (we never felt pushed in a certain direction). CL Studios also helped us during the procurement process and project managed the construction phase with our GC, which was the best decision ever! Their proactive approach and excellent communication skills ensured that the project stayed on track and any issues were addressed promptly. We love our new space so much and cannot believe the transformation to what it is now! I cannot recommend CL Studio Architecture enough and am looking forward to the next opportunity to work with them both again!
