Aydin Hamami

Aydin Hamami is an American artist based in New York, New York specializing in large-scale, mixed media abstract paintings. His work has been recognized by the Washington Post & The Observer. Aydin’s work discusses the relationship between painting and process, and asks the viewer to reconsider traditional notions of what the implications of painting truly are. His use of materials references derelict urban environments, post-waste-assemblage and modernism in his paintings. Aydin has constantly dealt with the problem of creating something new while not forgetting his debt to the history of his craft. His “action painting”, reflects a manner that is true to himself and to his work.
