Matt listens! We provided our drawings and Matt quickly processed them to develop the architectural drawings. He provided advise and listened to our changes and tweaks to the plans. He made the changes and worked with my wife and I. About a month later we made major changes to our plans, and Matt made the updates. I showed up with a Pinterest look book and a print out of an online layout and hand-written changes (a lot of changes!) and said “Would it be easier for me to buy the online draft and have you alter it? Or with all these changes would it be easier to start from scratch?” And despite that probably being a nightmare client Matt NEVER made me feel like I was any trouble at all and even showed enthusiasm about making our dream home possible. Then Matt and Ashley quickly got to work (and I mean quickly) and after three more drafts for changes that came up we had EXACTLY what we wanted in our plans. EVERYTHING! And with all his experience he even helped us navigate AWAY from some thing a I’d never even considered would be problems. The whole process took MUCH less time than I expected and that I had been quoted from the original online company I’d been speaking to. I cannot tell you what a relief it was to work with true professionals who take great pride in giving families what they want and need in housing blueprints. We are so thankful we found them!!

First off, we would highly highly recommend Glidden Drafting Services to anyone who would ask with absolutely no reservations. We are in the process of building a custom home and he was fantastic. Why? 1) Communication. He is truthfully the most responsive professional I have ever worked with. His responses are prompt and genuine. We had no difficulties communicating at any point in the process, which is critical when designing a custom home. 2) Personality. When we were looking for an architect, we had interviewed some strongly opinionated architects that tried to push their ideas onto us as opposed to working as a team. Matt somehow matches the perfect blend of offering opinions when we needed help or were stuck, but not questioning our design desires and ideas. 3) Product: We are very happy with the final design product. It is professionally done and exactly what we wanted. Our builder has worked with Matt several times in the past and his work translates perfectly into the actual construction process. We were provided plans with extensive dimensions, room labeling and elevations for our house. A+ 4) Price. This shouldn't necessarily be an area where you should be making a significant sacrifice at the cost of quality, but it does always need to be considered. The cost of designing plans for our custom home and all of the subsequent changes/revisions was incredibly reasonable. He is up front about how he charges and there were no hidden surprises. We actually felt like we underpaid for his work and customer service! In summary, you will not be disappointed in Glidden Drafting Services; we certainly weren't.

Matthew was very professional, and paid extra attention to the details that we wanted. His experience helped us tremendously navigate through some of the issues we had not thought about. Matthew Glidden at Glidden Drafting Services took our ideas about two plans we liked the features of, and in a very short time produced a set of working drawings. We had specific ideas about the changes we wanted made, and had even drawn a preliminary plan using a “home design” software package. We were on a short time line to satisfy contingency requirements for the purchase of property that required geotechnical testing, and had to have a final set of plans to base the testing on. All done during December, and he had other personal time commitments, but came through for us beautifully! Great job. We would definitely recommend him.

Glidden Drafting Services is an awesome company that provides drafting services from cradle to grave. Matthew listened to every detail during our initial and subsequent meetings and developed a wonderfully designed home for us. He is very professional and down to earth and managed to continued to work our plans, even with construction being done on his own property. All plans drafts were emailed to us in a PDF for approval or changes as required. Once we went final on the plans, he emailed us a copy of the final plans for approval as well as our builder. Great company that I would definitely work with again to build a custom home or other properties!

My wife and I are planning on building a house on land we purchased about 1 year ago. I put together a floorplan over a number of months using a home design program that I got on line. Once I solidified what we wanted into this floorplan, I needed a professional who could do the heavy lifting required to develop a house plan that builders could use. I went down to Wilson Lumber to get a recommendation. I thought they probably have seen many plans and could provide a recommendation for a solid drafting / design service. Without hesitation, the outside sales person recommended Matthew Glidden Drafting Service. My initial contact with Matthew was via phone and the process went very smooth from that point. I sent him my drawing and with in a very short time, he sent me back a concept revision that substantially improved the one area of the plan that did not use space well. After that, my wife and I had an initial meeting with Matthew in which we laid out what was important to us in a house. From the initial meeting, Matthew immediately went to work pulling the plan together. He was proactive in sending me draft products in work and depictions that would allow us to envision how the final product would look. We sent our plans through our contractor with just a drawing we did on Microsoft Paint and hand drawn from my husband. I asked to meet with our "draftsman" to help give him an idea of what we wanted (all of our Pinterest Ideas of course). He met with us the very next day, and gave us some great ideas for our new home. He was so easy to work with and so personable, he made us feel comfortable asking questions and throwing out ideas. Within 2 days he had our plans completely done. We changed things back and forth after I promised we wouldn't give him a hard time and he laughed, updated our request, and gave us great feedback within a few minutes. We retained Mr. Glidden to generate a set of plans for our builder so that we could get an estimate and begin construction. We provided Matthew Glidden with rough drawings and information for the house we wanted to build and he provided us an estimate based on the square footage of the house.. He quickly drafted a set of plans for review and emailed pdf versions to us in less than a week. We discussed changes over the phone and Matthew made the changes within a few days. We reviewed pdf versions again and then met with him to get the final printed and electronic copies. All this took less than a month and we have been quite pleased with his work. He had a great deal of knowledge of building codes, structural requirements, and industry best practices which he used to avert several potential problems in our original design concept. He has experience doing these types of construction drawings for several builders and his skills were very evident. It took a few discussions and preliminary drawing reviews for him to fully understand our desires. But then he fulfilled our design intent and we ultimately got what we wanted and which met building codes and remained within our budget. Matthew talked to and worked well with our builder several times during the design to ensure that our design intent and the builders technical requirements were being met.
