My wife and I have worked with Joe and GCS LLC on several projects over the years, and each experience has exceeded our expectations. Our first project was a big one: transforming the interior of our 2-story, 2300 sqft home. Joe and his team took on a full level 5 drywall smoothing project and repainting, turning our textured walls into what can only be described as museum-grade smoothness. The paintwork was impeccable, and at the same time, they replaced our old carpet and dark wood floors with beautiful light hickory on the second story. The combination elevated the look and feel of our entire home and created a fresh baseline to truly make it our own. A few years later, we turned our attention to the exterior. The Texas sun had worn down our trim and paint, and our old French patio door needed replacing. Joe guided us through the options, provided thoughtful recommendations, and once again delivered excellent results. The exterior repainting and the installation of a sleek aluminum sliding door completely refreshed our home’s curb appeal. On top of that, Joe and his team added finishing touches that went above and beyond the scope of work, which was a wonderful delight for us. Our home is a 25-year-old rancher located in Elgin, TX. During our 17 years of ownership, we have undertaken several remodel projects. Our recent project involved the remodel of our living room and fireplace. We chose a stone tile for the fireplace and had it installed by a different company. Unfortunately, the repeating pattern was too complex and gave our fireplace a checkerboard looks which was a mistake. The only choice remaining was to demolish the work and start over again. We wanted to deal with a different contractor but finding the right contractor was timely. We contacted over a dozen companies seeking advice and estimates. Some never returned our calls, while others never showed up for the appointment. And another wanted to offer estimates based on only photos of the fireplace. One stood out above all the others and that was Joe Castillo and his company GCS. Joe came out to the house and spent time talking with us, learning our goals, and providing advice. We received our estimate from Joe on Sunday which indicated he worked on the numbers over the weekend. Joe's estimate was fair and reasonable. Additionally, he fit our project into his schedule very quickly and was able to get the job accomplished in 3 days. Joe's man Edgar was on the job from morning until evening. He was without a doubt one of the hardest workers I have seen in a long time. His workmanship on the stone tile was flawless and we finally got the results for which we had hoped. Joe took the time to revisit our home on multiple occasions to check on the status, answer our questions and make certain we were happy with the job. Not many contractors take such an interest in a small job such as ours. Joe has the talent of listening to people and learning their goals. Joe restored our confidence in contractors. We hired GCS to remodel our kitchen, and Joe did such a great job that we retained him again to remodel our master bathroom. Joe's extensive experience allowed him to provide objective recommendations. He checked his subs' work daily for quality and kept us apprised of the project's progress every step of the way. Joe's bids were very competitive, and we did not experience any cost overruns.

We hired Joe to tile approximately 1000 sq feet in the living room, kitchen, bathroom and entrance hallway. He was very responsive in all aspects of the project. He returned the initial call quickly, gave us a detailed bid for the job, and was flexible with dates when we initially had to delay by a couple of weeks. Joe was great with answering our questions and providing input. The result was new flooring - 24x24 porcelain, dark gray tile throughout the main areas of the house - that looks wonderful! Joe's tiling crew was professional, competent, clean, and courteous. The job took about five days for the work, which required a lot of tile cutting for angles, corners, closets, etc. Joe checked in on the work regularly and was great when we asked that a few tiles be replaced. I should also mention that he was a perfectionist when we met the first day. He made sure that the tile chalk lines were placed to open the space with the large tile format and minimize small tile cuts. The job was completed on time and to expectations. Joe's subcontractors took care of water hookups and replacement of old shut off valves and the reinstall of the dishwasher. All in all, Joe and his crew and subcontractors did a great job; we would definitely recommend him for a tiling project. We will next progress to a full renovation of the kitchen and will absolutely get a bid from Joe for the work. We know he does more than tile! Given his reasonable and competitive pricing and commitment to exceeding the customers expectations, we anticipate that he will be a strong contended for our next phase of work.

This company did a beautiful job installing tile in my entryway, livingroom and powder room. They replaced an old vanity with a pedistal sink and matched the wall texture perfectly. They also replaced and painted all the trim. They're attention to detail was impressive. They were very professional and a pleasure to work with. I plan to hire them again very soon and I'm so happy to have found a company that I can trust.

GSC remodeled our master bath and hall bath. We are very happy with the end results. Can't thank GSC/Joe enough for all the suggestions and recommendations throughout the process. Joe Castillo and his crew did an excellent job on my home renovation. The renovation involved massive changes to the house including moving and reframing a couple of walls and the removal of 2000 sq ft of carpeting and tile and installation of stranded bamboo flooring. Wall paper was removed from three bathrooms, the kitchen and breakfast room and the walls were textured and painted. The kitchen and master bathroom were gutted and completely rebuilt. The result.... Amazing. I absolutely love my 'new' home. The quality of the work and craftsmanship is outstanding. Joe and his professional team paid particular attention to detail. The job was completed on time and on budget. I added additional items to the scope of work as the job progressed and I saw the stunning results of their efforts. Joe and his crew readily agreed to take on the additional changes I requested. Since the completion of our home renovation I have hired GSC LLC to upgrade the kitchen and a bathroom as well as extensive drywall work and painting throughout a second house that we own. We are getting the second house upgraded to put it on the market. The quality of his work on the second project is as expected, excellent. We are very pleased with the quality, timeliness, and value for our money on both of these projects. General Construction Services (GCS) was one of the recommended installers from the store I purchased my tile from. First and foremost, Joe Castillo returned my call. I had contacted some other recommended installers and was either not contacted or told to send them information via email in order to schedule a visit. Joe was very professional when he arrived to give me an estimate. This was not a huge job (Approx. 350 sq. ft. Sun Room), but any work on my home was very important to me. Joe provided a very thorough estimate that included tile removal and Hounds Tooth pattern for the particular tile. We had some prior travel commitments and Joe was very flexible in scheduling the install. Certain recommendations were made once the 30 year old tile that was held on by glue was removed and thoroughly explained. The team that Joe used was very professional and did outstanding work. I could really tell that the gentlemen that did the install was very experienced and thus allowed them to finish the complete project in approx. 3 days. The room looks great and we are very satisfied with the results.

We worked with Joe Castillo of GCS LLC when renovating our master shower area. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to do. We had met with other contractors who did not listen very well and were obviously claiming that the work was more involved (i.e. expensive) than it needed to be. Joe was very amicable, listened to our design ideas and worked to stay within our project budget, (rather than trying to squeeze more out of us). The design experience was a collaboration. Throughout the experience Joe frequently checked on our level of satisfaction. The project came out great, in a timely fashion, and in our budget. A few months have gone by, and we are still loving the results.
