Aaron Gordon Construction completed a full remodel of my home and I am thrilled with the quality of the work and how easy it was to work with the AGC team. Of the three bids on the project, AGC was not the least expensive, however, I definitely felt the most comfortable with the thoroughness of the bid, the responsiveness of Aaron & Brian and importantly the ideas they offered about the project -- things that would be expensive, alternatives and ideas to enhance the project. Trevor the foreman was excellent -- kept me informed about progress and very responsive to any questions I had. Most importantly, he ensured high quality work of the AGC team and the various sub-contractors used. His right hand person - Amber - was also exceptionally helpful. If something wasn't working quite right, it was immediately fixed by either AGC or the sub-contractors. While most of the project was complete a couple months ago, there were some items that could not be completed within the original project (not AGC's fault) -- Trevor continued to proactively follow up with me & install the various items as they were available. Also, importantly, Trevor & Amber were respectful of my neighbors - and sought to minimize the impact on them. As mentioned above, the quality of the work is outstanding. Adding in the professionalism & responsiveness of the AGC team, I am very happy with AGC and highly recommend them.

As an Architect, we're often asked to suggest possible Contractors. While we have a history with many good firms, we're always delighted when a Client brings along their own great Contractor - that's how we met Aaron Gordon. Aaron and his crew are very organized and thorough with all their paperwork, submittals, change orders, schedules and the like. They displayed a full knowledge of the technical aspects of building and they execute the details with craftsmanship. Remodeling a home is a messy and complex affair that homeowners find a very anxious time. Aaron and his crew had a wonderfully calm demeanor and reassuring manner that let our Client know that they were being heard and were in very good hands. Great process and great results - we look forward to working with Aaron again!

When a sewer backup destroyed the first floor of our house last fall (yes, it was as abject as it sounds), Aaron Gordon and his incredible team brought our home back to life with extraordinary professionalism, knowledge, transparency and even humor. We interviewed some dozen general contractors and that many more subs; and the first thing that impressed us about Aaron’s team was their communication. Phone calls and emails were returned within an hour – and often in much less time than that - when nearly all of the competitors proved virtually irresponsive by comparison. The horror stories about many GCs not bothering to show up when scheduled; or failing to respond to queries; or never producing an estimate after weeks are, alas, all too true. Aaron Gordon, on the other hand, inspired confidence from the beginning– and this quality alone earns his company five+ stars. Aaron and every one of his team members were never anything less than upfront about cost, scheduling, time and upgrades. And then, of course, there’s the final product. The reconstruction is beautiful, rock-solid and for the ages. The team brought an artistic eye to the smallest details and an engineer’s expertise when it came to the house’s systems, plumbing and electrical. Everyone was professional, timely, meticulous, friendly and responsive. AGC handled our rebuild with flexibility, sensitivity and patience, terms one hardly associates with home reconstruction at any scale, much less the traumatic and compulsory kind foisted upon us. That should tell you something about the kind of company they are: they actually managed to dial down our stress level from 11 to something entirely reasonable (5 or 6?) The conditions leading up to the reconstruction were beyond anxiety-ridden as they involved interminable exchanges with insurance. Given the rabid market for good GCs in the Bay Area, AGC could easily have declined our job in pursuit of an easier project. But they stuck it out with us over many months, even as the process seemed dammed to bureaucratic purgatory. On this count, our special thanks go to Brian, the stellar estimator, who somehow managed to bring humor to a very unfunny situation. By the time actual construction began months later, we knew we had made the right choice. In fact, we trusted AGC so much that we were able to go abroad for work (scheduled well before the house damage) knowing that things would get done as planned. And we knew the work would be excellent. Good communications were even more essential during this stage. We could always rely on the upstanding foreman, Trevor, for informative video updates and timely Skype exchanges. A key to the success of the project, I think, is that Trevor and his crew foresaw any potential issues well in advance; and knew exactly the right questions to address and pose of us as homeowners. Our thanks to Trevor, Amber, Monique, Sal and all the others for such outstanding work. Yes, it is true that this level of service and product comes at some cost; but I do believe you get what you pay for in the area of general contracting, especially in a city as morbidly expensive as San Francisco. This is very far from suggesting that AGC is an “elitist” or luxury firming catering only to the 1%. We’re a professional couple who have to watch the bottom line like everyone else; we hardly have disposable income to splash out on an enforced upgrade. But we also know that this kind of investment, both material and immaterial, is the best value. Entrusting your property to paid professionals is one thing. Entrusting your domestic space and time to strangers -- and then building an actual relationship with those people – is something else

There are a thousand things that we can say about our exceptional experience with Aaron Gordon Construction, but sometimes a quick anecdote is worth more than a slew of adjectives. My partner and I embarked on a major remodel of an 1889 Victorian flat that took the entire place down to studs and re-imagined the entire place (you can see the pics on his website and Houzz of Sanchez ST in SF). It was our first so we were unitiated in the world of construction. We faced many surprises -- structural issues from the 50s from add-ons and a garage addition, you name it -- that added significant time, cost and complexity to the project. Sounds like a nightmare, right? No. Because of Aaron and his project manager Chad, along with our architect Karen Curtiss, we were able to face these issues as a team. They were always transparent, honest and constructive in their partnership. Often gave us creative solutions (that cost less!) to overcome the trickiest of situations. Their ability to get the best out of their people, exceed our expecations and find superb craftspeople to contribute was bar none. My partner and I both manage multi-million projects and teams to great success for the decades in our careers in corporate america, and we still managed to learn management lessons from them. We remain the envy of our friends at dinner parties when we tell the ONE great story about our contractor and remodeling experience when everyone else tells horror stories when our project could have easily been one. Without reservations, I highly recommend this company, its leadership and its team.

Aaron & crew did a terrific job of removing & replacing walls in an area covered with mold. They worked professionally and in a timely manner. They also replaced an outside door which took lots of ingenuity because in our 1909 house, nothing is square or plumb. Aaron Gordon Construction completed a major remodel for us and the entire process from start-to-finish far exceeded our expectations. Aaron and his crew (including his sub-contractors) all maintained a high-level of professionalism, punctuality, and cleanliness throughout the scope of our project. Their attention to detail is a testament to the passion they bring to the job, no matter how big or small. This puts them in a category well above most other craftspeople. They are real artists, and that is a rare thing to find these days. More important than anything stated above, AGC excels at one thing that makes all the difference in the world: communication. They were always prompt in their replies to our questions and took as long as we needed to explain the answers in full-detail, without skipping a thing. Aaron and Chad (and everyone else on their crew for that matter) turned our experience into something my wife and I never expected when we set out to find a contractor: they made it an education into their trade. That's how thorough they are in their explanations in as far as we wanted to know about any aspect of the job. They understand that this level of communication is the key to having happy clients and I can't stress what a difference it made for making our remodeling a truly happy experience. Not only would we hire them again for our next home-improvement job, we can honestly say that we are looking forward to it. We are going to miss having them around. And now, we can say with full confidence that our house is the best-looking house on the block! :)

Aaron and his crew are amazing. They are professional, savvy, responsible, talented, on time and trustworthy. Everything you think contractors and construction crews aren't. We did a major remodel of our 1927 home. We did everything: foundation work, tile work, electrical, plumbing, etc. Through the six month project we were well informed of everything. Communication is often lacking from contractors. Not AGC--we got responses to our questions the same day (sometimes within minutes). We were so impressed with the top notch work that Aaron Gordon Construction did, that we keep finding new things for them to do. We can't get enough of them!

Aaron Gordon did a remodel on my downstairs office and den. He was thorough, professional and did what he needed to do on time and within budget. His crew was tidy, respectful and went the extra mile to ensure everything was comlpleted to architect specifications and with the added bonus of obtaining city permits, so that I was not challenged with that task. I would recommend his services and definitely use him again as I approach a kitchen remodel and added updates to my 1940's home. Wish I'd found him sooner!
