We have worked with Ethan with Archetype for close to a decade on a number of high detail, high design single family residences in San Francisco. Ethan's background in design makes it easy to communicate about the importance of great workmanship and "look and feel" in home construction. We have sold several properties that Ethan has developed and constructed, and have always been impressed by the combination of thoughtful design and excellent execution in his work. Ethan works closely with the architect to develop designs that are both considered and cost-effective, and he is always willing to make modifications during construction to ensure that the design intent is carried through without compromising the quality of the finished product. Buyers respond very positively to the quality of Ethan’s construction, and in our experience, his projects have resulted in very few post-sale callbacks or issues.

We had a great experience working with Ethan on our home remodeling project. Our project was more than just remodeling our existing house—we also added a new room, so it was a pretty big project for our family. Ethan was very easy to work with throughout the whole process. He listened to what we wanted, answered all of our questions, and was always willing to work with us when we had changes or concerns. He was also very responsive and kept us updated on the progress. We really appreciated how reliable and responsible Ethan was. He and his team did a great job and paid attention to the details. Adding a new room and remodeling our house was a big undertaking, but Ethan made the whole process much easier and less stressful for us. We hire them to create a deck on our backyard, replace the sharing fence with one side neighbor, level the floor for our detached garage and replace sidings on the exterior wall facing our other side neighbor. All work was very well done, on time and efficiently. The GC gave very good suggestion as he has background in art design and has great eyes for esthetics. They also made sure to communicate with our neighbors so everyone was happy and there was minimal disturbances. This is so important in SF as all houses are so closely connected. I cannot recommend enough this company for doing your renovation. We were very happy with the outcome and really appreciate the quality work they provided.

Ethan Yang and his team at Archetype Construction completed an extensive, down-to-the-studs remodel of my single-family home project. The project was substantial and complex. It included major structural and foundation work, a new concrete slab, moment frame, wall reconfiguration, floor-joist leveling, and the complete replacement of all the home’s major systems, including new 200-amp electrical service, plumbing, forced air heating, a tankless water heater, roofing, insulation and waterproofing. The work also included new windows and sliding doors, siding, flooring, drywall, bathrooms, kitchen cabinetry, countertops, tile, appliances, finishes, and interior and exterior painting. Ethan’s workmanship was of a very high standard and he has an exceptional eye for detail. He is a perfectionist in the best sense of the word and took the time to ask questions and fully understand my vision and what I was trying to achieve. His communication throughout the project was excellent. He kept me informed about progress, upcoming decisions and any changes along the way. Ethan, the architect and I worked extremely well together as a team, which was particularly important given the scale and complexity of the renovation. Despite the extensive scope of work, Ethan completed the project within budget. The finished home was exceptional, and the quality of the renovation contributed to us achieving a very strong price when we ultimately sold the property.
