Victor Luviano of Arise Construction is a true professional and a delight to work with when doing our home remodel projects. We turned our former laundry room into an upscale ADA-compliant bathroom for my mother, added a front ramp to the home entrance, and upgraded our electrical panel box. Throughout the process, Victor was proficient in communicating any needed changes, assisting with the selection/guidance of construction materials, and routinely following up on the project to ensure everything was up to code. Victor’s crew was conscientious when coming into our house, ensuring they put up plastic sheathing to close off the construction area, kept the rest of the house dust-free, and cleaned up routinely every day. Throughout the whole process, Victor’s communication was consistent, professional, and always right on. When I called him about a recent concern about our project, he was more than happy to come over and check it out. While it turned out to be nothing more than normal wear-and-tear over time, he came over with his plumber to look into the matter and fixed the shower cartridge. It’s a rarity today to find a service-oriented professional, like Victor Luviano, who stands by his workmanship. This is why, when considering our next project, we’ll come back to ARISE CONSTRUCTION for help again.

I knew owning a 111-year-old house would come with challenges and big projects, so I was not surprised when the inspector labeled the bowing and insufficient rafters in my attic as my new top priority. After way too many phone calls to businesses that didn't even listen to my description of the issue before telling me to just find a roofer, I finally found Arise Constructions. They were the only company who listened to my whole explanation of the issue instead of dismissing me in the first few seconds. Victor was immediately enthusiastic about the project, being both reassuring that it could be fixed and up-front that it could take a lot of work, depending on what else was affected. He later had no hesitation in bringing in a second structural engineer when I was concerned about the cost and extent of the first engineer’s suggested fix. The second proposal was a creative solution that better aligned with my goal of maintaining the existing structure as much as possible, so we got started soon after. The project felt organized from start to finish: I had a general timeline, frequent pictures, and near-daily conversations about progress and next steps. Between Victor, Pepe, and Todd, someone from Arise Constructions was here nearly every day work was being done to ensure everything was on-track and up to their company’s high standards. The few issues that arose were brought to me and dealt with immediately. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond in their own way, even helping me with a separate minor issue that happened to pop up while they were here. I will definitely be reaching out to Victor again once I'm ready to do more.

We have done a couple of projects with Victor and Arise Constructions. The first project was a significant remodel of the downstairs bathroom including relocating the laundry to the basement. With the mother-in-law moving in with us we had to ensure the bathroom was ADA compliant. Victor was great with suggestions on how to get the various handles installed and secure. Victor showed his patience when we went granite shopping. It was one of those you’ll know it when you see it excursions. Victor’s team was great about coming in and getting things done. Any issues that arose were explained clearly. The second project was a handicap ramp to allow my mother-in-law easy access to the house. We were meeting to discuss the project when Victor’s crew saw my mother-in-law struggling to get out the door. They told Victor we needed to get this project complete as soon as possible and worked through their weekend to completion. Victor’s suggestions gave us an aesthetically pleasing ramp on the front of our house. Throughout both projects, whether by phone or in person, Victor was very good at keeping in communication. He would regularly stop by to check on progress and address any concerns that arose. Sharing our excitement as the project moved along, he would have good suggestions when the original plan had to be adjusted. We highly recommend Arise Constructions for any remodeling projects.

The Arise team took our builder grade, new construction townhouse and turned it into a place we enjoy living! Four bathroom remodels, garage remodel, and upgrades to the primary bedroom using various trades. Victor has a highly skilled artisan for whatever you, or your designer, can dream up! This is our first home and first remodeling project and the Arise team were fantastic at helping us through the process and made sure we were happy with the final results. As with any project, there were a couple of issues along the way, but I never once felt like I was bothering them or that I couldn't express if something wasn't completed to my high expectations. They want their clients to be happy! Jacob, our Project Manager, consistently went above and beyond for us, and we are so thankful to him. Can't wait to hire the Arise team to finish up the rest of the house!

When I was looking for contractors, Victor was the only one who personally answered his phone. Since then he's been an excellent communicator all the way along. He has a very high level of consciousness around work quality and detail and communicates effectively about all of it. I would recommend him to anyone doing a building project.

I wanted to do a unique and modern fireplace wall, as well as an under-the-stairs storage pantry for roughly a year– I reached out to numerous contractors, but Victor had the confidence and schedule to help me with these projects. After a lot of time with Haley, the designer, we were ready to move forward. Haley is amazing– she listened to my likes and dislikes and unlike many other designers in the area– she nailed it. That’s about the end of this project moving smoothly. Construction started as scheduled, but with little communication about details and expectations– immediately beginning with frustration on both sides. That was a theme for the rest of this project– that was supposed to be a two-week endeavor, but several months later the project was still carrying on. The project continued with lackluster communication– I never knew who was coming and when they would be at my home, something important for a female homeowner Victor was not only passive aggressive, but he was unprofessional and downright rude at times, even blaming my project for being the reason he needed to cancel a vacation with his family. When he didn’t have an answer on the project process or didn’t like my questions on the timeline, he passed me off to members of his team who he hadn’t yet looped in either. Victor would continue to tell me issues were “out of their control,” however, he hadn’t even begun scoping sub-contractors for parts of the project until it had already begun– a factor well in his control. Communication was a constant challenge, not only when work would be completed or delayed- but even as the scope shifted or designs changed– including elements I didn’t agree with or didn’t want in my project. Compromise after compromise was made and now I’m not even happy with a project I’ve invested significant financial investments in, not to mention disheveled my home environment and life for over a month. I would not recommend working with Arise again– their leader has no foresight into this project, but as well as poor planning and communication skills. The team and the contractors he hired, however, were lovely people– and had they had some leadership into the scope/timeline/anticipated outcome of the project, I’m sure it would have been smoother. Do yourself and your sanity a favor and choose another contractor for your home renovation project.
