As a custom cabinet supplier we have been fortunate to team up with quality contractors and builders. For over 10 years now we have been working closely with Jon and the team at Artistic construction. Jon is a very detailed and hands on type of builder. Over the years he has impressed me and our team with how clean, concise and precise Jon and his team is. He is definitely someone who thinks ahead to avoid issues but most of all he's a problem solver. As a Chicago builder who does a lot of old homes you need someone like Jon on your job if you're going to guy or touch a 100 year old house. Thanks for all the years Jon!

We are so happy we used Artistic Construction to complete a full gut rehab of our guest bathroom and fireplace remodel. The owner Jon was very professional, detail oriented, and pleasant to work with. He took the time to help guide us with picking out our bathroom fixtures. Our beautiful custom made wood mantel was well beyond what we expected. We will definitely use Artistic Construction again for future projects.

Artistic Construction is the best firm that I have ever used--this time for my master bathroom. Jonathan Hill has remarkable knowledge in all areas of construction and is incredibly responsive to a client's needs. He uses as designer as a backup. Being the consummate professional that he is, he shows exceptional patience when changes are made by the client. Jonathan oversees a number of expert subcontractors to ensure that all projects are handled properly and that problems are handled in an efficient and timely manner: tile; plumbing; electrical; stone fabrication; and general contractors. He also made sure that the contractors cleaned up after their work on a daily basis. He is always available, which is critical to any project. For these reasons, the job turned out beautifully. The budget was exactly as quoted and finished on time. Any changes or delays were caused by me. I would definitely hire him again for any project. The photos don't do justice to the final look because I don't have the proper camera.

Could not ask for a better contractor. Jon and Artistic Construction did an amazing job remodeling my kitchen. Jon was qick to respond to emails and was very patient with all the questions I had. He is a perfectionist...

John did a fantastic job on our bathroom remodel. We brought John in after our original contractor gutted the bathroom and abandoned the job. John took such a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to the project, carefully reviewing the work that had already been done in addition to clearly defining a plan for completion, He was reliable and professional and importantly, made value added recommendations as needed throughout the project. The end result was amazing! We couldn't be happier.

Working with Jonathan and his team was a dream. He is quick to respond to any call, text or email - regardless of the issue. He is a total perfectionist, which is great because i want a perfect result but as a total novice have no what that entails. I had never hired a contractor nor started my own home renovation project before and Jonathan was great to work with. We did a rather major renovation, and as with any project of this scope it was stressful at times. My husband likened our regular meetings with Jonathan to therapy sessions, where all our questions would be answered, our concerns would be addressed, and we would walk away more relaxed and confident the project was moving in the right direction. The whole Artistic Construction team was wonderful to work with to the point i am almost sad the project is over - although i could not be more happy with the result.

I can't say enough about Jon and his team of highly professional and creative staff. What started as a small project to create built-in bookshelves in the living room of my 1890s row house turned into a nearly complete, year-long restoration of the house, including new plumbing, electrical, and windows. But also new lighting, two completely remodeled bathrooms, new carpeting, and the installation of a beautiful tile floor in the vestibule and foyer. I am especially pleased with the design work of Taylor Littrel who created the plan for the bookcases, bathroom tile pattern, and fireplace. He tracked down a period fireplace mantel and had it refinished to perfectly match the existing woodwork in the house. He found the perfect color bricks for the interior of the fireplace and helped choose the stone for the surround. Taylor helped choose the paint colors for each room in the house and tracked down a tile maker in California who still made mid century pink and grey tiles for the bathroom. Jon's team also restored the picture rail throughout the entire house and recreated a built-in display case in the dining room that had been removed and walled up many years ago. Additionally, Jon found someone who could recreate the plaster coved ceiling in the living room. The entire staff made restoring this house fun and exciting, but most important they did high quality work that will surely last another 120 years.

I cannot say enough positive things about Jon and his team. I have hired Artistic Construction for numerous projects over the past few years - ranging from small internal projects with my pantry, bathrooms and staircases to much larger external construction projects including a new front porch and completely new garage from ground level. Having been burned by past contractors, I feel so fortunate to have found a go-to company for all my house design and construction needs. Jon is responsive, detailed, creative and so pleasant to work with - he has amazing patience talking through the projects and providing me options to ensure I fully understand and will be happy with the final product. His team has incredible craftsmanship and take great pride in their work. They do a thorough clean up job after each workday and have all been professional and enjoyable to have in my home. I trust Jon and his team completely. I now look forward to tackling house projects, something that I dreaded before I found Artistic Construction.

We highly recommend Jon and Artistic Construction. We used his company for a gut rehab of a small full bathroom. He was very professional and organized. He listened to what we were looking for and made great recommendations. We love how the bathroom turned out! I think the price was a little higher than expected, but we are very pleased overall.

Artistic Construction was amazing when we added a second floor onto our house, while living on the first floor. Jon (the owner), his crew and the subcontractors were great work with. Jon communicated well and often, which is very important when you are living in a constructions site. Jon was very good about minimizing how intrusive the constructions was in our living space, giving us his perspective/recommendations (when asked, or when we hadn't even known there was a choice to make) and keeping the project on track. Almost as important as Jon are his crew. We communicated with Jon almost daily (if not daily) but his crew was in our house all day.skl The team that he has assembled is a pretty amazing group of people. They were always so friendly to us and our two small children, cleaned up after themselves, communicated with us the small details such as when they were leaving/what the next day would hold/what not to touch, and they never seemed bothered when we popped upstairs (even if they needed to move equipment so we could safely get in) to look at the progress. Living though a major addition is difficult, but Artistic construction made it is easy as possible. In addition to it being great to work with, the quality of the work is fantastic. Our 'new' house is beautiful.

Jon and the rest of his team at Artistic Construction were outstanding. They were easy to work with, punctual, and flexible. Very professional and responsive. We had quite a bit of work done, including kitchen remodeling, fireplace remodeling, and outdoor work done (new front patio). I would recommend Artistic Construction to friends and family members.

Jonathan Hill of Artistic Construction is wonderful. He remodeled our basement after it was flooded and did an excellent job guiding us through decisions and helping us keep our costs down. His crew was equally great to work with. They are very skilled, very friendly, and completed the project quickly. Since that project in 2012, they have done some other smaller scale things like design a back gate in our yard, construct stairs from our yard into the garage, and removed some cabinetry and installed a dishwasher in the kitchen. What we have appreciated the most about Jonathan Hill is that he writes up very detailed plans/quotes when you have a project in mind and is easy to talk to/bounce ideas around with. We would definitely use Artistic Constructions for future projects.
