We received possession of our home last September. Walls are crooked, stairs are cracked & , look sloppy. Our house wasn’t presented clean- don’t get me wrong it was “tidy” but there are still grout smears on wood, lights were left dusty, etc. When you buy a home you expect it immaculate- it was anything but. We were initially told the beams were installed right, they seemed very off to us. Later found out they messed up. Courtenay mentioned coming back to do a clean after the ceiling beams were where taken down and reinstalled (we had possession already). Never happened. We never received final paint touch ups- were told we had to wait on pieces from our front door to be in before they’ll come out and paint both. Now we have to wait till it’s “warm” out to (hopefully) get the painters out to finish staining our door & do touch ups. There was an issue with the siding- had to add an unwanted piece of trim due to their mistakes and some shakers. We wanted our house to be one shade which is now three different shades of white (white white, yellow white, and a grey white). Looks awful. We were told if we want it to be the right white throughout we have to paint it ourselves. Our ceiling fan in our bathroom is leaking-we have a decent sized water/brown patch surrounding the vent on the ceiling- we were told that the leaking was normal. We clearly have water damage already. We went with the farmhouse look. We wanted wood beams out front. The builder picked the ugliest beam possible. On the front it has a HUGE crack down the middle, the back side which faces our little front porch has a chunk of wood missing which is about the size of my hand. We also had smoke butts left to clean up once we had possession.The builder could make any ruts in our land he wanted- because he wasn’t doing our landscaping he didn’t have to fix them. We went went with a different cabinet company than beacon usually goes with. We picked out our products from them, Courtenay then requested we go to HIS paint place to colour match stain for the rest of the wood in our house as opposed to him just getting it from the same cabinet place to match. Well THAT WAS A DISASTER! Colour didn’t match! Luckily we stood our ground & they sanded down & restained the beams, mantle & stair railings. The builder didn’t want to have to fix it. At one point he was crouching down in our stove spot & said “well from this angle it matches”... We started the build when covid first was blowing up so we had to make choices online. I was very hesitant & voiced that!! We ended up getting the wrong doors for our house. Courtenay helped find a solution for that but it costed us $$ There’s more I could add but only so much I can type in this box. Courtenay is extremely accommodating & very nice but I hope he learns from his errors with our home & does better for those who build next. This home was a big deal for us & Courtenay showed that he couldn’t have cared less.

Beacon Homes renovated our master bedroom and master bathroom. They were very professional with high standards for the work they did for us. Loved the end result. Would definitely use them again.

Even though they new I wasn't in the market right away for a new build. They took the time to explain the build process and that they work with the same trusted sub-contractors repeatedly ensuring the highest quality of workmanship goes into their builds.
