About Us

Caledonia Construction renovates, remodels and repairs residential property in New Orleans. We specialize in carpentry work and have over 15 years experience in the industry. Owner, James Mayes, came to New Orleans to help the rebuilding effort after Katrina. He quickly fell in love with the city and its unique culture and architecture. James received a degree in Construction form Queenslie College in Glasgow, Scotland where he learned the trade from Master Craftsman. We maintain an excellent relationship with local permit offices while working with our clients to update their living spaces to their desired function and style, meeting their desired budget. We take pride in building personal relationships with all subcontractors, officials, and clients. Caledonia was the historical latin name the Romans used to describe the lands north of Hadrian's Wall. Today, we know it as Scotland.
