We hired D2 to do a full home renovation. Jim and Steve were honest and professional right from the start. They were always available to address any questions or concerns we had along the way. They were completely transparent about everything that needed to be done and how much it would cost. I am a licensed building renovator, specializing in masonry and landscape construction, and I am a licensed home inspector. Much of my company's work is masonry sub-contracting for building renovators. I have seen the best and the worst over my long years in the industry. Having completed more than a few projects with D2, and having observed their projects in various stages of completion, I have only positive observations. D2 is the best kind of renovation company, and can be differentiated from the pack, for the following reasons: - they do most of their work themselves, rather than simply marking-up and subbing out everything - they are real contractors rather than simply project managers - their work is of a quality much higher than current industry standards in Toronto, and they demand the same from any specialists they employ - they have all the technical knowledge needed to complete projects properly, and a strong understanding of the work their specialists do - they cooperate with everybody, but they do not spend their clients' money frivolously - they have always demanded proper explanations for the methods and costs associated with any specialized work my company has done on their projects When I have met with their clients, I have only observed people who are pleased with the progress and completion of their projects. Their employees seem happy to do their work properly. Their designs, planning, craftwork, project management, courtesy, regulatory compliance and occupational health and safety measures are what the industry standard should be, and their finished product is fantastic. If I needed a substantial, multi-discipline renovation, D2 would be at the very top of my list. I hope to continue to work with them for decades.

We contracted D2 to renovate our kitchen, bathroom and replace all of our flooring. We consulted with a number of D2 references, one that we knew personally and all the feedback came back extremely positive. D2 was extremely professional. They worked well with our designer and the suppliers we chose. Our project was pretty significant, and in our opinion D2 completed the project in the timeline we discussed with minimal delays. We’re very pleased with the outcome of the work. They wanted to make sure that we were 100% satisfied with their work, and made sure that every final touch was completed along with a few changed we made along the way. We would certainly recommend D2 to others, and would work with them again on a future renovation project.

DO not risk your home with this company. We contracted D2 to overhaul our East York bungalow. They did not finish the work. They did say they would make it right, but unfortunately, we signed a chronological payment schedule. So there seems to be little incentive for them to come back and fix the problems. This is our home, we live here. We run electrical extension cords to get power where we need it. Our basement has flooded with sewage, I cleaned it up. The water lines failed, so I bought the tools needed and fixed the leaks. All kinds of work that you wouldn't expect to have to do, that D2 seems comfortable leaving to complete at their leisure. Weeks ago, they said they would fix it. They now have a new subcontractor....the third electrician to work on this system, coming by tomorrow to see if he will do the work later this week. I'm not holding my breath, went through the same dance last week. We are still running extension cords. What a drain. Save yourself, your relationships, your bank account and contract someone, anyone else. Ill update here if anything changes.

D2Build is the best contractor I have ever hired for a job. Their team designed and built an entire gut renovation for my current home. If there was ever any issue he would resolve immediately, even 2 years later!
