We recently used D&G to finish our basement, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. Before contacting them, we had already spent a lot of time figuring out what we wanted. We weren’t looking for an average basement - we wanted something special. The D&G design team did an excellent job taking our existing vision and working with us to turn it into a realistic plan that fit our budget. Construction went smoothly, and all of the contractors were competent, respectful, and hardworking. On occasions when something was missed, the team made sure it was addressed right away. The finished space is exactly what we envisioned. Our family and friends have all commented on how amazing everything looks, and we love spending time down there - whether we’re working in the office, using the gym or watching movies in the theater. We won’t hesitate to hire D&G again for future projects. Our kitchen might be next!

We recently used D&G for a major basement finishing project and are delighted with the results. The process started out great with their design team, who did an excellent job helping us maximize the layout. They helped us completely transform our unfinished basement into an incredible new living space, including a dedicated movie theater room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and an open living area. They also cleverly configured our unfinished spaces to include under-stairs utility storage and an "indoor shed" with an exterior door where a window used to be. All of the permitting was handled for us. Throughout the main build, the tradespeople were great to work with, and the quality of craftsmanship appeared consistently high. Our project supervisor did a good job keeping the overall timeline running smoothly and maintaining communication. What really set D&G apart was their post-sales service. When we discovered a damaged cable several months after the project was completed, Darren (owner) came out and personally ensured that everything was fixed for us. It’s rare to find a contractor that delivers high-quality work and stands by their warranty without any hassle. We’d highly recommend D&G for any major remodeling needs.

We spent a good amount of time interviewing different contractors and designers, and ultimately chose D&G for several reasons: 1) we liked their design style (clean and modern), 2) they had an in house design team that worked hand in hand with the construction team, and 3) they were confident they could hit the completion date they proposed. But after working with them for a while, we realized that it was the team itself that was the differentiator. Everyone that we worked with was friendly, knowledgable, and treated our home like it was theirs. D&G was not the cheapest of the options we considered, but they finished on time and on budget, which made planning our living situations so much easier. I would recommended them to any of my friends, family and colleagues. So much so that we just finished a second house project with them!

It’s hard to overstate how good this company is. They finished our basement and put in a bathroom with a beautiful glass shower. The professionalism blew me away from planning and timelines to guidance on how things should look. Everything was on schedule and above board with permitting and inspections. Also the quotes we got from other companies that did half as much were basically the same. We didn’t have any surprises. I cannot recommend them enough!!

D&G's attention to detail was everything a client could ask for. Our project included replacing carpet in bedrooms and stairway with engineered wood flooring, adding a second dishwasher, moving the trash container cabinet, clouding a window (and surrounding it with wine coolers, decorative shelving, quartz countertop, and cabinets to match the kitchen), and building garage shelving. Our tract home looks so much more customized!

After reaching out to three companies and meeting with two, we chose to work with D&G on finishing our unfinished basement. We chose to work with D&G for a host of reasons, but some of the key factors included their communication, their process, and being able to have everything design wise in-house. We sourced a few things ourselves but really you don’t have to if you don’t want or need to with them and I think that’s a benefit. We had a pretty good idea of what we envisioned for our basement and Darren and his team really helped take it to the next level. Darren is experienced, so knows his stuff and is confident in the best way. And we felt confident the quality would be excellent as well. The D&G team is thorough and we felt pretty comfortable with what the timeline would be and how things would go. We expected some hiccups - there just are - to but we ended up with more hiccups than any of us expected or anticipated. None of the hiccups or issues were at the fault of D&G (for example a hot water heater going out and leaking over a weekend after drywall was installed) and I only mention this because not only did Darren himself jump in to help but so did the whole team, even some of their trades. I don’t think you can walk into a project and not expect any issues but having a solid team in place makes all the difference. We are so pleased with the outcome of our basement and would definitely recommend D&G.

We are so in love with our kitchen! We chose D&G after meeting with other remodel companies Because it was a one stop shop. We did not have to meet with different vendors at different locations in order to pick our finishes. This is the company for you if you are looking for clear communication, a quality product and ease of understanding how the project will flow. We did not pick them because they were the lowest bid, we chose D&G because of the highest quality of workmanship. Throughout our project, there was oversight from D&G over all the trades, ensuring scheduling, productivity and quality work. We never wondered if the people in our home were doing what they were supposed to be doing, it was clear production. Darren was amazing to work with. Darren is on site throughout our project for quality check-in and to ensure our project was executed according to plan. He himself was able to catch items that needed to be fixed or updated and it was never a question of timing or who needed to get the task done, it was always understood quality was the most important goal. This remodel was to improve our family’s functionality and flow in our home. We ended up with amazing storage; great movement for our family and guest throughout our dining room and kitchen; and a beautiful product worth sharing! We recommend D&G with praise and gratitude for improving our family’s quality of life. This is your company if you want ease and satisfaction!!

We've worked with many contractors in the past, and D&G was by far the best experience and highest quality work. They are a small but mighty team that truly means and delivers on what they say they will. It felt like a true partnership! We worked with them to redo our main floor including new hardwood floors, kitchen, mudroom and fireplace. Beyond being thrilled with the result, D&G had incredibly strong communication, managed through all supply chain issues with vendors, ensured sub contractors had proper direction (so we didn't have to lift a finger), and were clear on financial obligations and timing.

We recently worked with D&G to complete a kitchen remodel. The overall experience was a good one with a few seemingly common construction hiccups along the way. Pros: -We shopped around companies and found D&G to be the most reasonable price for the level of service we were seeking (turn-key)! -D&G design team was SO helpful in framing our project, onboarding us to the process, and making us feel comfortable and confident in our selections. -Scheduling and logistics were clear and everything was executed on time, if not early. -Individual contractors on the project, particularly the carpenter (Kevin) were so great to work with during times of stress (see: cons), patiently walking us through options for resolving issues encountered. -End product is beautiful and we are so happy with our new kitchen! Cons: -During the project, there were times where we noticed things weren't being done as planned and when we raised them to the superintendent, they were often dismissed/initially met with resistance and deflecting blame. This was stressful for us, as it was our first renovation project and we hadn't expected so much back and forth and negotiation for correcting mistakes that had been made. In summary, we're very happy with the outcome and would recommend D&G!

We did a complete basement remodel with the D&G Team. We were extremely happy with all aspects of the project. Laine was our initial contact and was very organized and personable on getting all of the details that we were looking for out of the job. We felt listened to and heard from the team including Darren, the designer, the finance manager and the project coordinator and felt we were given a great amount of personal attention. This made us trust the team even more. Darren was very conscientious and made sure every detail was taken care of, and if it wasn't perfect he corrected it immediately without any issues. My husband and I appreciated the transparency on the cost side as we were kept in the loop at every turn if anything would run us over on budget. This has not been the case on other projects we have done with other companies, so this was a very welcome change and showed the organizational management and overall grasp that they have on their business. Another area that we appreciated was that they were willing to listen to our design ideas as well as bring their own to the table, after all, they have seen some cool stuff, while this is our first full basement remodel. We are thrilled with the outcome and the whole family enjoys spending time down there now. D&G definitely know what they are doing and will do it right, on budget, and in our case on time too! We would 100% recommend D&G for a basement remodel project!

Where to even begin. The entire D&G team was absolutely incredible to work with from start to finish. From our initial kick off call with Laine, to Jasmine absolutely killing the design of our project, to our phenomenal superintendent Jody and project manager Brandy who kept us in the loop the entire length of the project, we could not be happier with our basement. We were nervous to start the process, as the process of building our home with a large homebuilder in 2022 was far from smooth, but D&G impressed us from the get go. Darin and his team take the time to truly understand what you’re looking for and ensure they check as many (if not all) of your wish list items while providing the highest quality work and finishes within your budget. He was here repeatedly throughout the project to check in and ensure everything was on track and up to their standards. Also, I cannot say enough good things about Jasmine. She is an insanely talented designer who took a few Pinterest photos and a vision in my head and made it all come to life in the most beautiful way. We didn’t change a single thing from her initial design, she captured exactly what we were looking for right off the bat! From before even day 1 of starting construction, our superintendent Jody was at our house and kept us in the loop with what to expect as far as trades coming through and what was being accomplished each week. He treated our home like it was his and had a meticulous eye to make sure every detail was perfect. Anything that came up, he let us know immediately. All of the trades who came through were very friendly and did incredible work. D&G also worked with our timeline and budget to move as quickly as possible. We are expecting our first child this spring and they finished the project 3+ weeks ahead of the timeline so we could have extra time to get organized which meant so much to me and my husband. The entire team is so talented and an absolute dream to work with and I cannot say enough good things about them as a company. If you are considering them for a basement or any sort of project, HIRE THEM. I know we will for any needs we have in the future! We first started working with D&G in May of 2023 when we were gathering bids for our whole-home remodel. D&G stood out to us immediately for their professionalism, knowledge, friendliness and process. Now, 11 months later, we are preparing to move back into an absolutely stunning home. In reflecting back on this entire experience, we find it hard to put into words just how grateful we feel for choosing and trusting D&G with our family home. The trades they brought in are absolute masters of their craft. Corners were never cut and any issues were addressed and fixed immediately. D&G finished our basement, and it looks great! From the design team, the project managers and supervisors, to all of the contractors, everyone was very nice and easy to work with. The design took our current house aesthetic into account. It looks like it was finished with the rest of the house. The construction team kept the space very clean. We had no dust or dirt problems during the project. Workers went through the basement window, so the project rarely interfered with our day. There was one licensing delay, but the team worked hard to get the project back on track. Overall, we loved working with D&G and are very happy with our new space!

We met with a few contractors, but D&G really wowed us initially with their approach. I've built a house in the past and had a project manager who was not on top of detail and it was a painful and labor intensive process from my side to get what I wanted. With D&G the team was on top of it from the initial presentation to the final touches. They have a very prescribed approach and dedicated personnel. Our overall process took almost a year from the first meeting, to laying out designs and agreeing on all sides to what we wanted. The actual construction process was approximately 4 months (Dec 1 to March 31). This included an entire demolition of a finished basement and rebuild from the concrete up for approximately 1,500 square feet. Darren and team were fantastic almost the entire way through. 98% of the project ran extremely smoothly and the few hiccups we had we were able to work through generally to my satisfaction. They are definitely not the cheapest game in town but if you want to hire a contractor and get the job done right without having to micro-manage everything, this is your team. I've heard multiple horror stories from neighbors and friends about construction projects and companies that are just downright dishonest and don't produce quality work. D&G stands out in terms of their work ethic, attention to detail, management of subcontractors, and final quality delivery. Our project turned out EXACTLY how we wanted it and completed on time, based on a timeline they provided 2 months before construction even started! Couldn't be happier with the end result and we've already knocked the socks off everyone who has come by to enjoy our new basement!

D&G was great to work with for our first big renovation project. We worked with them to redo our entire first floor, and they made the process smooth. In a COVID world of material delays, they thought ahead and waited to demo until all the materials were in their warehouse, meaning we never had significant delays. The work they did is beautiful, and even when minor issues did arise due to subcontractors painting rooms the wrong color, for example, they were quick to get them back out and put things right. We had communication through the whole process with multiple people, including Darren (the owner), and the in house designer Maddie was always open to helping me make selections. Having her there to give me 3 or 4 options to pick from in our price range really helped the decision making process and she had great ideas. Terri was our project manager and she was great, she made us feel very in the loop and even made best friends with our dog. I would recommend them and will use them again if we ever have another project!

2021 Basement finish, approx 2,000 sq. ft. We hired D&G because of their custom finishes and awesome photos of their work. We had some ideas for our basement but D&G took those ideas to another level. We loved the plans that they provided so we acquired a HELOC loan and gave them the go-ahead. We opted to have D&G do our remodel because (1) they answered our inquiry promptly, and (2) they were reasonably priced for Boulder, with no hidden costs. Darren is friendly and had some great ideas for our space. He was very hands on and did some of the work himself. Remodeling is always painful, but we appreciated the customer service D&G provided and the direct line to our project manager (Miranda -- she is wonderful!). Some of the not-so-great things included a changeover in staff early in the project (we started with a different project manager), the rushed selection process for the finishes in the space (only 2 hours to select everything from cabinet colors to paint to countertops to faucets), and the lack of regular communication about our project during the staff changeover. In general, we are very pleased with how the remodel turned out, and we know that D&G will stand by their work. If we had to do it again, we would choose D&G.

We did a full main level remodel of our living room, dining room, study and a complete overhaul of our kitchen. We also changed the front door and painted the entire interior and exterior of the house. It was a huge project with lots of moving parts. This is the second project we have used D&G for, after they did an amazing job on a complete basement renovation. We couldn't be happier with the result. From the design process to the final walk-through, we had great communication from our project manager on time-lines, working being done weekly and check-ins to make sure everything was running smoothly. The end-result is nothing less than extraordinary. The kitchen design is cutting edge and timeless at the same time. The design maximized the use of the space and really turned into a gourmet chef's kitchen. The living room with new floors, a shiplap fireplace wall, a new modern electric fireplace and an oversized mantel really upgraded the space. The best thing about Darren and the D&G team is their customer service. Any time we had a small change or something we didn't feel was quite right they really listened and did their best to find a solution. Even in a time of Covid and supply chain issues, they really pushed to stay on the project timeline. We are looking to do a master bathroom overhaul in the next couple of years. I wouldn't think of using anyone else. From design, quality of materials, quality of craftsmanship and customer service, D&G really is the gold standard.

The improvements included new flooring, cabinets, countertops, lighting and fixtures, replacing a wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace, new bathroom, shelving, doors and windows. This is a much delayed but well earned and deserved 5 star review. Darren and his company were stellar from start finish for our 1700 sq foot basement buildout. This included a hidden bookcase door, wine storage, wetbar, great room with integrated media and, our favorite, the gym. He and his team were excellent about communicating and kept us on budget and were honest upfront about what costs (example: I knew lvp was a must over carpet that was taken into account so other ideas in the budget got trimmed) Also completed ONTIME. No crazy delays or frustrating pauses. We used mostly the “builder” grade level options which in real life look and perform to a much much higher standard in quality and style. And this was all through the height of the pandemic. Sub contractors are excellent at their trades, managers know how to manage and Darren leads them all. Would definitely use again and recommend to anyone!

We wouldn't hire D&G back if they offered to remodel our entire home for free. This was a terrible mistake and we regret hiring them immensely. -They lied to us throughout the entire project on multiple occasions. -The owner, Darren Dinkle, cussed both me and my wife out on the phone. He belittled us and even threatened us in regards to a flooring mistake they made. (I HAVE to tell this story. See, our contract with D&G stated we had ordered and paid for RED OAK flooring to match our existing RED OAK flooring. Well, Darren ordered WHITE OAK flooring by accident and had that installed. Hence we had a visible line down the middle of the floor. When we brought it to Darren's attention, this is what he said. "How would you like us to rectify this?" So I respond, "However you choose Darren. You can come in and replace the WHITE OAK flooring with RED OAK like our contract states. Or, you can come in and tear out the little bit of RED OAK we already have, and replace with the WHITE OAK flooring you mistakenly ordered and installed.. Either way is fine with us." Darren's response, "Ok, I will send you an invoice for that!" When i tell him that it's ludicrous for us to pay for his mistake he goes, "If you make D&G come fix the flooring, we will find somewhere in the contract to back charge you for construction delay." We have the entire conversation on recording. In order for us to get what we ordered and PRE PAID for, we had to hire a law firm who specializes in construction problems to intervene. We finally got it rectified after said law firm sent 3 letters to D&G. -the work still isn't completed and this kitchen project was started in May 2019. Its now December 2019. -We caught the workers from D&G doing a #2 in our 4yo daughter's bathroom. NOTE: We have a huge. blue Port-A-Let sitting in front of our home in the driveway. I have pictures of the guy on her toilet. Again, this was a terrible mistake. D&G is way too big for their britches. They are overwhelmed and understaffed. They took on so much business that we came last on the list when it came to completion and their workmanship was shotty at best. We considered this a huge learning experience. Don't gravitate to the ones with the biggest advertising. Bigger does not necessarily mean better Scope of work: $70K kitchen remodel.

Your project has always been very important to us and our team. The pictures show how stunning it turned out. However, we are all human, and we accept that on occasion there can and will be uncontrollable differences with clients. Despite any differences with your project the D&G team continued to work hard to complete your project even when there were delays not caused by D&G. D&G did not and does not have any personal vindictive towards you. While working through all of your requests, D&G provided various solutions and continued to be flexible, open minded and work with you even when it was difficult to satisfy your requests. We did answer all questions and addressed all concerns with any corrections. All of these were completed promptly and within the contract timeline as well as at no additional cost to you. We also kindly elected not to apply any substantial late fees, finance charges, trip charges or additional change order charges that per the contract could have been applied.

Although we did have differences, completing your project was still top priority for D&G. We feel this is evident as we completed your project per the scope of work, on-time per contract and then, in return, you completed payments. D&G was not aware of any correspondents from attorneys during or after the project completion. That being said, we always advise our clients to read their contracts thoroughly. It is very important to not only have a contract with a contractor, but also to truly understand its terms and conditions.

D&G’s core values remain to finish any project we start, and we never have any other intention but to produce a good experience for a client and a space they’ll love for years to come. We sincerely regret that our immense efforts to satisfy you did not result in your complete satisfaction.

D&G has been serving our community for many years and we take reviews personally. Truth to a review is vital as we are people who live and support the community we live in too. We respectfully disagree with your review and the validity of your comments. And we are not ashamed of our conduct or with the quality of work on this project. While we cannot change our differences, we can provide an open door to invite you to tender the relationship if you wish to do so. Our door is always open and we are available if you would like to resolve anything outside of this platform.

Darren's expertise and attention to detail is impeccable, and his support staff is top notch. We converted a cookie cutter basement will small rooms, to an open concept basement, with wet bar, media room, ping pong game area, and custom built finishes including a sport memorabilia wall, with custom glass shelves for footballs. D & G is a cut above the rest. I did a thorough search and many interviews before deciding on D & G to finish my basement, install new carpet throughout the house and upgrade existing bathrooms. Darren asked me what I wanted, explained everything in detail and showed me renderings before starting the project. We had an "in home" consultation, which included measurements and discussion of many design ideas for remodeling our kitchen. We were told D & G needed a week or so to develop the design plans and would get back in touch with us to set up the next meeting at their office to review the plans. Three weeks later, after many emails and phone calls, we were told they were too busy, not interested in doing our project, and would no longer be remodeling kitchens. This just didn't make sense as we were extremely flexible and open to waiting until they could get to our project. This was beyond poor business practice and extremely unprofessional! We were misled and it was a complete waste of our time!

My fun and exciting experience with D&G contibued when I met with Camille to make design choices and selections. She has a broad understating and keen eye for design to guide you in creating your dream space. As I met with both Darren and Camille to review plans, I was given the ability to see my project in 3D and make adjustments, add ideas and solidify all aspects of the design. It was nothing short of amazing. Billing was a cinch with online payment options and clear descriptions of what was being paid for each time. The girls ran screaming into the basement as soon as we got the C/O, and are thrilled (by as much as me though!) I don't know how many people could make the claim that their basement finish was a fun and exciting process, but we sure can. We ended up with a space that was far beyond our expectations in quality and design, and it was all taken care of by people who truly treat you as though you are highly valued and important to them.

In July of 2015 I had a creative vision: Do a complete and major remodel, and finish the lower level of a dated 2500 sq. ft. condo, and give it the feel and quality of a high-end custom home.
