Windsor, CO Kitchen Remodel
D&G Construction, a design-build firm serving Denver and Boulder County, Colorado, completed this refined kitchen and bar transformation in Windsor, where considered cabinetry design, architectural-grade appliances, and a curated material palette come together in a space built for both serious cooking and effortless entertaining.
The homeowners required a kitchen that could perform at a high level on both fronts: a professional-caliber cooking environment and a dedicated entertaining space that felt cohesive with the open-plan living areas.
The planning process established a two-tone design language from the outset. Warm greige shaker cabinetry was specified floor to ceiling along the perimeter walls, maximizing storage while lending the space an architectural presence. The island was finished in a deep espresso tone, topped with a statement slab of Calacatta-style quartz with bold veining, creating a visual anchor at the center of the room. Dark perimeter countertops provide contrast against the lighter upper cabinetry, while white subway tile backsplash and under-cabinet lighting maintain brightness throughout the cooking zone. Professional-grade stainless appliances, including a built-in column refrigerator and double wall ovens, were integrated seamlessly into the cabinetry envelope.
The bar area was designed as a dedicated entertaining zone, featuring dark custom millwork, open display shelving for glassware and wine, and an integrated wine cooler. Positioned to capture the waterfront view through the large sliding glass doors, the bar functions as a natural gathering point that extends the kitchen into the broader living space.
Homeowners in Windsor planning a kitchen and bar remodel often ask how to integrate two distinct functional zones into a cohesive design. At D&G Construction, that integration is addressed during the planning phase, ensuring the material palette, cabinetry language, and spatial flow are resolved before any work begins.
