Dave Hawk LLC

Dave Hawk worked on our lake house doing a variety of projects from door replacements, rebuilding a chimney, to new steps to our dock. All of these projects required planning and care. Dave is honest, direct and very eager to satisfy his costumers. He stuck by his bid even though the circumstances on one of the projects were worse than he anticipated. Most of all Dave and his team are skilled craftsmen that take a great deal of pride in their work. As a result we had an excellent experience with Dave Hawk carpentry. he has a wide range of capabilities from the small highly crafted project to the complete house.

Dave took on a very tricky repair job for us on a two level deck with a sinking corner post. He was able to add concrete footings that had been missing and rebuild and strengthen both decks with superior materials, as well as adding an under deck with a gutter to act as a ceiling for the lower deck. He went out of his way to make it attractive and worked around a lot of inconvenient weather to get the job done. We are so pleased with the result.

Dave did a great job building out house on a mountain stream. we live in Florida so we could not be around to check on the progress and quality of work. Dave kept us informed and responded to changes. He is a top notch craftsman and really knows the construction business.

They built the foundation. Did the finish plumbing, electric and built porch stairs. Completed on time. Good communication and work.

We have a lakefront home on Lake Keowee. The home is a typical lake house with a walk-out basement and an elevated deck on the lake-side of the house. When the house was built by the original owners, the deck, which faces south, was created without a roof to keep the elements and sun off the deck. The result of an open south-facing deck meant the deck was too hot to use during the sunny summer. We found Dave Hawk, LLC on Houzz.com, and we gave him a call. Dave came out promptly and recognized our need immediately. He quickly envisioned a solution to our problem and presented a written quote within a few days. We engaged Dave and the project proceeded. Dave obtained the building permit, materials were delivered within a few days, and work commenced. Dave brought in a team of carpenters, an electrician and a roofer. The workers were professional and kept the site organized and clean during the project. Dave was on-site often and kept an eye on detail to ensure that we were happy with the result. We now have a well-constructed and attractive roof over our deck. It looks like it was built with the house, not as an add-on. We’ve enjoyed working with Dave and currently have engaged him on an interior renovation.

What a pleasure to write this letter about Dave and Jan Hawk of Mountain Lake Builders, who turned our daydream into a reality, by "going above and beyond" to build us a magnificent custom home. Always responsive... always eager to design and build the many "tweaks" we requested along the way...and always with an eye to providing absolute quality at the lowest possible cost... they were a pleasure to work with. MLB did a great job on our project on Lake Keowee. We hired MLB to reside our house and rebuild the deck, twice as large as the original deck. Dave and Jan provided design services that were great, as well as first class construction. Their level of service and responsiveness was top notch. We would definately use them again.
