Emerald Builders is an excellent company to work with. When you are building something that is not "a conventional stick-built' structure, you want the people doing the work to 1) listen and understand what's important to you, 2) have the skills and knowledge to deliver, 3) have the interpersonal skills to navigate the relationship along the way. It's really hard for a business to have all three. But Emerald does.

We were extremely pleased with the quality of work, their ideas to improve our original design and their schedule. We have already had them back for a smaller project and will contact them again in the future if we need their expertise.

As a countertop fabricator we have had the pleasure to work with Emerald Builders on projects throughout Maine. We have found them to be a great partner in every aspect. From early design concepts to scheduling, to the level of detail they both provide and execute, they deliver. 30+ year old kitchen renovation (house was built in 1962, we purchased in 1975, this will be the second renovation). Starting with removal of existing cabinets and various wall coverings (sheet rock, wood). New 6' window. Incorporating existing barn boards and adding new drywall. New cabinetry layout, new counter-top, new island, new sink, keeping existing appliances. Emerald Builders worked with the ever-changing conditions due to the age of the house and pulled it all together within a reasonable time frame due to those changes. Excellent attention to detail. We chose Reggie and his crew because we knew we would get a top-notch finish.

Emerald Builders did an excellent job on a renovation I designed. They were able to perform structural repairs and addressed a variety of insulation and air sealing issues in an old home, then went on to turn a worn-out kitchen and bath into bright, new spaces. Reggie works hard on communication, and he and his crew are all top notch carpenters and very knowledgeable about all aspects of building high performance homes.

Reggie and his crew built a new house for us in 2014 and a deep energy renovation of an 1850 farmhouse in 2013. The results of both projects were fantastic; in fact the post move-in blower door testing of the new house yielded the lowest reading energy auditor had ever seen! Their knowledge, good humor, and thorough approach to planning led to a very enjoyable process. We know many of Reggies customers and many have come back for their second or third project.

Reggie was great. He and his team helped us restore an old barn. He knew so much more than the two other builders who looked at the job. We were convinced we were getting the right job for a fair price . Reggie was friendly, prompt, and always cleaned up after himself.

Emerald Builders built my father a small, super-insulated house that is so cozy and comfortable during this cold Maine winter. Reggie and his crew are highly skilled and talented builders. A pleasure to work with. Responsive to questions and needs. Thorough and precise. The utmost in professionalism.

Reggie is a craftsmen, he wants the job done well. He is pleasant to work with and professional. His crew is very trustworthy -- I was never concerned about leaving them alone in the house. We are still enjoying the result of his labors.
