We used Steve and team to re-roof our house and to repaint the exterior and they were fantastic. They provided a reasonable quote, and once we agreed set clear expectations about when they would be able to start. Once the team started, they moved through the work in a very efficient and high-quality manner. The house was left looking brand new and we could not be happier. We have had bad experiences in the past with other contractors, and so the work with Steve and Executive Craftsman was a real breath of fresh air. They've done work in several homes that we've owned over the years doing basement finishing, custom cabinetry, painting and most recently a bathroom renovation. We have lived in our home for 27 years. Throughout the years we have hired Executive Craftsman for many different jobs. They have always done excellent, professional work. When we decided to put our home up for sale, we hired Executive Craftsman. They have done excellent work, from exterior painting, wallpaper removal, painting, carpentry, electric and so forth. They are on time, covering doorways and such to keep our home clean while they work. Steve is easy to work with. He genuinely cares about his clients and takes pride in his work. Selling our home has been an emotional time for the whole family. Executive Craftsman's skill and professional work ethic has made preparing our home for sale less stressful for us.

(I wish more stars were available!!) The most important aspect of a remodel or other building project is attention to detail -- and Executive Craftsman is superb! In addition to producing the highest quality result, they always arrived when expected, always left the work area clean, and held noise to a minimum. The entire process, for us, was a pleasant one and we are truly delighted with the result! We're looking for our next project for them.

I have now worked with Johel and his partner Steve several times. Most recently they just did a full renovation of almost my entire home in Greenwich, CT after water damage required that all of our very special hardwood floors be ripped out and replaced; the scope of the job and the quality of the materials needed was huge. New floors, new dry wall, insulation, the list is too long to write down on this review. They also work with the best painter I’ve ever worked with (JKA painting), who lacquered a media room as part of the project. On the day we were moving out to a rental Johel texted to see if I needed any help. Every single person who works for them is skilled, professional, and very respectful and pleasant. When they finished the job, about a month EARLY and totally on budget, they also sent a cleaning crew thru the whole house to make sure it was sparkling. My insurance agent remarked that they were THE best builders he’s ever worked with and wished they were all “like them”. These guys deserve 10 stars, always a perfect job with incredible customer service. This was a massive job, but prior to this they have done many smaller jobs for us ranging from beautiful custom cabinetry to solving problems with drainage or window flashing, or improvement of any kind.

Highly recommend Steve and Executive Craftsman! Our sunroom rennovation and total roof replacement was done in a professional and timely manner. I'm so happy that we found Steve and that he was kind, friendly and helpful through the entire project. He brought only experienced and professional workers into our home. We will definitely continue to use him for our future projects.

In a word ... EXCELLENT! Our house was hit by lightening and with a series of events that followed we were left with a flooded finished basement and butler's pantry. I called Executive Craftsman and within a few minutes they called me and rushed right over. Within a couple of days Steve gave me an fair estimate, had his crew over and within a couple of weeks they restored everything. What excellent service. Steve and his meticulous crew were both professional and friendly. I would highly recommend them!

Steve, Johel and their team are excellent and professional. Our project was a rebuild of our child's bathroom, complete from demoing to the studs to installing marble floors and tiles. Executive Craftsman was at the helm of our just completed “back to the studs” kitchen, family room, hall renovation in our vintage (1900) home. They came to us highly recommended, and exceeded our expectations every step of the way. Our general contractor Johel was on the job every day, providing support and guidance. Very responsive, always available to consult, and extremely creative as challenges arose. We asked for a number of changes during the course of the work, and E/C provided us with timely and reasonable costs estimates. We were also very impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of E/C’s subs. In summary, we would be happy to recommend Executive Craftsman for any major renovation job - if we could give more them than five stars, we would!

If I could, I would give Executive Craftsman far more than 5 stars. Steve and Johel were ultra-professional in every aspect: timely, expert and exacting, offering fine workmanship at a fair price. I explained before the project began that I had a tight deadline by which the majority of the work needed to be completed and Executive Craftsman delivered on time--even at the most hectic time of the year, right before the holidays. These gentlemen are good listeners who treat each client with care and attention. They are creative problem solvers who seek ways to avoid unnecessary and expensive changes--how refreshing! Their teams are talented tradesmen, skilled and customer-focused. They arrived on time and took pains to clean up when they left in the evening, respecting the fact that they are working in someone's home and not on a construction site. I asked Steve for his personal opinion when I needed to make decisions on design and fittings and he was honest, taking my budgetary considerations into account and balancing those with the end-result I was looking for. He explained the options and trade-offs, and never "up-sold" or recommended services that I didn't need. Steve has a calm and direct way of interacting with his clients--I always felt I was in honest, capable hands. He explained what was going to happen and when, so I always knew what to expect. He also went above and beyond, taking calls on weekends and in the evenings, even coming by in off-hours to address a tricky garage door opener so our construction materials would not be exposed to the street overnight. While past renovation projects in other homes have proven to be highly stressful and frustrating experiences, the opposite was true for me in this case. There were no surprises, unanticipated expenses, delays or no-shows. These gents are true pros. I will definitely use Executive Craftsman for future projects and recommend them unequivocally.

After 10 years of using Executive Craftsman for "small" jobs like bathroom remodels, we felt confident in hiring Steve and Johel to do a large sunroom addition and complete gutting and remodel of our kitchen and mudroom areas. Each time a friend compliments our new spaces, we are reminded of the beautiful result. I'm always texting Steve to let him know that someone else was admiring our kitchen! I cannot say enough great things about Executive Craftsman. I needed them in a pinch for a listing of mine where we had a closing approaching and several jobs to do on the punch list, some not-so-pleasant jobs. One involved maneuvering in a small crawl space to carve through cement to reset cracks in a foundation, digging outside in subzero temps, among several others: sheetrocking ceilings and electrical with re-wiring some of my client’s recessed lights etc. They showed up every time they said they were, completed the jobs with giving updates as to how they were going. They made me look like a star with my clients, which I’ll be forever grateful for. I will definitely be calling these guys again and again!

I would highly recommend Executive Craftsman to anyone looking for a great general contractor. The quality of the work was always on point. All of their workers were extremely friendly, trustworthy, and hard working. Steve would always make himself available to answer a call or respond to an E-Mail. Despite several changes made along the way (at my own request) they stayed true to their original budget. They were also very good about providing estimates for any additional services requested throughout the project and sticking to those numbers in the final bill. I would absolutely recommend them not only for the quality of their work but also for the caliber of their employees.

Recently they finished $200,000 home renovation in Darien, CT. Finished on time as they promised. We had several events at the house and everyone loves every single details they had done. Excellent company and I highly recommend it.

Prices are fair, work is great. I have used them for numerous projects. This summer was one of maintenance...new light and lamp post, pool fence repair, some painting. I call about a problem. Our playroom needed a major overall. The heat was no longer working, the wiring was original from when the house was built in the 1950s, it had old paneling, old doors and stained carpeting. I wanted to get rid of the mismatched bookcases and tv stand and have built ins made. I was overwhelmed by the scope of the project and all the different trades people I would need to find and interview. My decorator recommended I contact Executive Craftsman and told me they could handle the entire job for me. I called Executive Craftsman that day and Steve (one of the partners) came over the next day to look at the job. He provided an estimate a day later and they started the job a week later. Executive Craftsman had a great crew of professional electricians, plumbers, floor installers and carpenters. They were there every day they were scheduled and were always professional and courteous. If I had questions regarding the job, my phone calls and emails were always answered right away. The job was done on time and on budget. We will definitely use Executive Craftsman for our next house project.
