Gibson Contracting

From the beginning of our project we have had nothing but problems…they lie and do not do the job correctly, they point fingers and blame others for their errors. They completely lack any sense of coordination and as a result we have experienced lengthy delays and huge additional costs. Today we are over a year late in completing my home…and it’s still not done…we decided to work with a fixed price, fixed timeline contract called a ccdc2. This was to ensure the home was built by a certain date and for an agreed amount….needless to say they have totally disregarded their responsibility as a builder under this contract and I now have had to engage lawyers to get it done and claim for damages…We are now in the midst of a heat wave and the daily internal temp of my house reaches 37c and they still have not made commissioning my AC a priority….if you are lucky to get a hold of Darcy you get excuses or vague responses as to when things will get done.. I recommend you look for a different builder at all costs

We had our dream home custom built by Gibson Contracting in Lake Country. Our last house was built 29 years ago and involved modifications to an existing show home plan. This house was designed from scratch with an architect so we were a little leery about what might be involved. We selected Gibson Contracting after doing lots of research and meeting with Darcy Gibson plus members of his excellent team, starting with Geoff Wray. Everyone was very patient and answered our numerous questions promptly and professionally. We were remote and only able to visit the site every couple of months. The team, especially our Project Manager Jen Berkheim, kept us very informed including pictures at various stages. The choices were well presented, invoices were detailed with total transparency and we were comfortable with the progress. Sherry Gibson helped with decorating choices, difficult at any time but especially remote and with short visits. Hers ideas were excellent and she easily understood our preferences. Brandon and Terry did an excellent job as site supervisors and, when we did encounter any glitch, they were on top of it with fixes implemented immediately. I would highly recommend Gibson Contracting. They were a pleasure to work with during our project.

We've heard that building a home can be a nightmare. Not for us! We loved our time with Darcy Gibson's team from our very first meeting. Our first contact was with Geoff and he helped us plan every detail that went into our construction. Next up was our fabulous designer, Sherry from Mudita. Sherry works on all Gibsons projects. She booked all our appointments and was there every step of the way helping with all our colour and design choices. From our wonderful project manager Jen right through to our site supervisor Brandon and of course Naleesa in accounting, our experience was wonderful. We absolutely love our new home, otherwise we would happily start the process again. The best thing of all was working with a company that cares deeply about the quality of their workmanship and also about the community they serve.

Gibson contracting has been an excellent company to work with. They have just finished building my second home for me in the past 4 years. The quality of work it’s over the top and there designs and Finishings substantial. The finished product speaks for it self. Gibson would be my top choice in a building company in the Okanagon valley.

I have had the privilege to capture the work of the Gibson team on multiple occasions and have nothing but good things to say about them. Their work is exceptional and they are great people. With multiple Tommie Award wins this past year they are clearly one of the top builders in the Okanagan.

We hired Gibson Contracting to build our home. We have previously built homes with other contractors. This was ultimately the best experience of all homes we have built. Gibsons was very professional, remarkable with communication, brainstorming and finding solutions. Their subcontractors were professional and very helpful.
