We hired Greenleaf for a near whole-house renovation of our 1950s mid-century modern house to restore it back to the spirit of the original style. This included the entire siding and roof, the kitchen, main bedroom, and bath, expansion of the garage, solving water problems in the front of the house, and many other miscellaneous items. We were very pleased with Greenleaf in all aspects of their work: professional, attention to detail, ease to work with, and willingness to work with new materials (i.e. vertical siding made from upcycled rice hulls). We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend their services!

We very rarely write reviews but we felt compelled to let other homeowners know of our exceptional experience with Greenleaf Construction Baltimore. When interviewing GCs for our Baltimore City renovation, we were very impressed with Greenleaf’s George, Nick, Derrick, et al. Even at that early point they seemed to stand out from the rest and we felt immediately comfortable. By the time our project with them completed our first impressions were confirmed to put it mildly; we were utterly amazed at this company’s work ethic, culture of quality, project management, communication skills, and extraordinary dedication to their craft and their clients. We have a mid-century ranch house and undertook a stylistically important remodeling of the kitchen and the rest of the northwest half of the home. In the end the project completed on time, on budget, and just as we dreamed. Even the most carefully planned projects will require mid-course corrections and changes to scope or implementation, and in our case this was always handled with Greenleaf as a sensitive and receptive partner, whether at the project management level, or tactically in real time with Joe and Rob, two of their excellent carpenters that worked our project. These folks are in your home every single day, and with Greenleaf this formed relationships built from trust and understanding. We cannot overstate our satisfaction with the experience and the entire project. Greenleaf’s Jelani and Leigh skillfully kept us on track, ensuring that we were not in the critical path. Problem solving was always a team effort and we felt part of that team. If we had an idea (and let’s face it, home owners can come up with crazy stuff sometimes), Derrick or George were always eager to think through all the options for how it could work. No idea was disregarded. Their communication with us and amongst themselves was incomparable. If we voiced something in the afternoon or end of the day, it had already been communicated throughout all the stakeholders by morning. Their processes and personal approaches ensured everyone was always onboard and on the same page all the time. How many people can actually say that about their experience with a contractor? We were lucky to discover Greenleaf, an exceptional company of genuinely good people; we clearly made the best choice by entrusting them with our project.

I worked with Greenleaf Construction on several projects, as a kitchen & bath designer and as a design implementation liaison. The entire team is dedicated to each and every one of their projects, as if they were working on their own homes. Greenleaf is a must hire! Their customer service is incomparable. I used them for a first floor remodel including kitchen and full bath. From start to finish they addressed all of my questions, concerns and issues in a timely manner. They provided a detailed budget and stuck to it so there were no surprises. They were thoughtful when they addressed each issue and were quick to fix any mistakes to the point that it was even better than it was originally! I never felt nickeled and dimed. All the contractors were polite and respectful of our space. They protected all of my belongings first and foremost and used quality materials for all the construction. They communicated with my outside contractors to ensure that coordination of the project was seamless and in one instance actually provided tools for my painter to use! Another instance where they went over and above was during a very cold freeze we had during Christmas. I had a flood from my laundry room which is not part of their project. They had a team member come by on a weekend during Christmas to drop off blowers and help dry it out. The final product is more than I could have dreamt. I will use them again in a heart beat! They stand by their work and are a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them! There have transformed our home into a dream living space!

George, Nick, Derrick, Chris and the whole team were absolutely exemplary throughout my project. I’ve done several projects with different contractors and my kitchen renovation with Greenleaf was a great experience. They were so easy to work with on all the decision-making. Change orders were prompt and never a surprise. They took all my preferences seriously and worked to execute my ideas with great care and precision. Plus, my dog liked them!! I will definitely return to Greenleaf for a future project.

We hired Greenleaf to convert a screened in porch to a four season sunroom. We were very happy with the process from beginning to end. Great communication throughout. Their work is excellent quality and they were conscious of our budget when unexpected things come up as they often do when you are working on an older house. We are so happy to have a beautiful new room!

In any project, no matter how large (and ours was a big one -- a whole-house renovation plus an addition of a screened-in porch), it is the details that not only make it successful but make it last. And the details for this project were numerous -- squaring every corner, making every joint snug, placing switches and fixtures in just the right spots, installing a heavy and complicated tri-fold glass door, and, not to be underestimated, dealing with unexpected problems that arose as old walls and previous stopgap fixes from earlier years were cleared away. Throughout our project, which lasted about six months, Greenleaf's crew and craftsmen were outstanding in their conscientious attention to detail in order to get things right. They cost a bit more than most contractors, but the resulting work is built to last, and it won't need correcting. Their followup is also outstanding. Lead carpenter Randy Unglesbee was professional and on top of things throughout. Communication was precise, the job site was clean at the end of each workday, and they were considerate to the needs of us and our neighbors. Highly recommended.
