So impressed with the team at Hampton Bay / Babylon Bay. Our project was an expansion and complete gut renovation of our kitchen, with a new roof terrace above. The space isn't huge, but there were some complicated aspects . The owner, super, and builders were completely professional from our very first meeting - which included a detailed estimate that they stuck to through the whole project. We had no surprise charges, except when I requested something extra, and even then the additions were very fair. The quality of work was outstanding. When unexpected situations came up, communication was perfect and we resolved things quickly. These guys are good. I'd hire them again without a second thought, and in fact will be doing so again soon.

This is the second project (bathroom and most recently kitchen) where I have used AJ. Both were succesful projects. All within budget. AJ's team is punctual, professional and accountable. I recommend this contractor for your next home improvement project.

We used Hampton Bay to remodel the kitchen, den and living room. The kitchen and den were complete gut jobs. Aj sat with us and explained each step and cost of the job. When work began Sam was there every step of the way. he was really helpful with timing the flooring, painting, electrical and plumbing work that was needed. everything was discussed beforehand, and they gave me some great advice on the remodel. I will definitely use them again on my next project. PS: All of their recommendations for sub-contractors were excellent!!!

Great experience from start to end, I wanted a very specific trim that they do not sell for vinyl siding but they were able or make it. The crew was quick, polite and professional.

AJ and his team were phenomenal. Highly professional, friendly, quick to respond to calls, emails, and texts, terrific at making adjustments if necessary during the course of the project. Plus...and this is a huge plus...their craftsmanship is amazing. They did a coffered ceiling for me. There were many decisions along the way since it was a highly custom project, they were always enormously helpful in giving me the pros and cons of various choices and guided me to a fantastic result.

We had an excellent experience with Hampton Bay. They were professional, careful, and communicate very well. We wouldn't hesitate to call on them again.

My situation was that I had a fire in the wall behind my fireplace. The firemen put out the fire, but in so doing, did extensive damage to the interior wall and exterior vinyl siding. A. J., the Owner of Hampton Bay Construction, came by the day after I called and gave me an estimate that was covered by my insurance company. I ordered a new fireplace and work began. Sam was the Project Manager for the renovation, and he was on sight every day, letting me know what was going to be done each day. When I did need to speak with A. J., he returned my call the same day. Robinson handled the interior work which included framing the new fireplace, installing the mantle, a lot of spackling, and repainting the entire room. His work was precise, absolutely flawless. Roberto, and a crew of four, handled the exterior which included ripping off the old vinyl siding, (I decided to have the entire exterior redone) ripping off the old shingle which was not done by the previous installer, putting up plywood, moisture barrier, and finally the new siding. The house looks really sharp especially with the trim around the windows, the lights, the electrical outlets, and the vent to the fireplace. Everyone was very professional, courteous, showed up each day on time, did their jobs neatly and cleanly, and obviously took pride in their work. I would highly recommend Hampton Bay Construction for anyone's home improvement needs.

I can’t say enough about this company, Hampton Bays Construction, owner AJ, and his professional staff. If I could, I would give a higher rating than 5 stars, it would be at least 100, because that is how I felt about their knowledge, professionalism and the high quality of workmanship from AJ and his crew. They were extremely courteous, answered any questions I had, while also asking me what my vision was that I was wanting for the Shiplap paneling, chair rail, and crown molding that I wanted in my kitchen n hallway entrance. Did I mention that after their work was completed, my home was spotless! Hampton Bay Construction is an outstanding company. We used them for a Kitchen, Bathroom, and Laundry Room renovation. The owner, AJ, is very professional and a pleasure to work with. Babylon/Hampton Bay Construction is top notch! We had a kitchen done that belongs in a magazine. We had hiccups along the way due to the fact we live in a 200 year old house. AJ was there with us the whole time. No matter the time of day he responded and fixed our issues. The work is outstanding and he got it all done within the timeframe. I wish I could give them 10 stars. I would recommend them to anyone.

We hired them to redo our kitchen. Excellent team from demo to finish. The head carpenter Eddie was so knowledgeable and willing to offer practical advise on issues that arose during construction. We hit many bumps along the way due to circumstances outside of their control but they handled them in a timely and professional manner. The owner AJ was available in person or by phone every day and was always responsive to issues or questions. We would highly recommend them for any size job in your home.

We have nothing but praises for the work AJ and his crew performed on our house and we plan on working with them on future projects. They performed a gut renovation of our main family bathroom, a complete basement renovation, and updated our living room built-ins and ceiling. The outcome of each project exceeded our expectations. Working with the AJ was a great experience. He is extremely down to earth and personable. We were impressed with the transparency on each of his estimates, all of which included itemized costs. This transparency was something we weren't accustomed to in other bids that we had received, which typically had a magic number at the end, and left you wondering what the heck costs that much? With AJ, we saw how it came together, and that was very important to us. The work the crew performed was very high end. The new family bathroom came out amazing. Truly high end, custom woodwork throughout, if you showed me a picture of this bathroom a year ago I would not have believed it would be in my house. Our basement, which prior to the renovation was an absolute dump where people expressed fear in visiting, turned into our favorite room in the house. They built a laundry room, full bathroom and a family room. All the rooms received custom built-ins, which we designed together along the way. It isn't fair to call it a basement any longer, it has become the addition on the lower level. Reflecting back over these projects, I think what left the most favorable sentiment was how AJ treated each project like they were taking place in his own house. We knew our projects were smaller in scale then what Hampton Bays typically worked on, but it didn't feel that way to us. To us, these projects were tremendous, and AJ treated them as such. AJ demonstrated to us throughout that he wanted us to be 100% satisfied, and he worked very hard to make that happen. Hampton Bay has our endorsement 100%!!

AJ and his entire Babylon Bay Construction team are absolutely amazing at what they do. This is the third project we’ve worked him on, and once again everything went exactly according to the schedule. He said we’d be ready to template in three weeks, and we were. Once the counter came in, he had his trades descend upon our house – contractor, electrician, plumber – all together on the same day to make sure everything was coordinated and tied up on schedule. He takes the time to provide really detailed estimates – so much so that there was never any surprise along the way. In terms of his team, they’re the best in the business. Our existing porcelain floor was ripped up and replaced – and the installation of that floor was led by Carlos who asked us questions about things we didn’t know existed. Which way do we want the veins? Who knew floors had veins! Well, Carlos, of course. And in terms of the carpentry, if you’re lucky enough to have Eddie calling the shots then you’re in the hands of a true craftsman. From installing hardware to cutting molding, to figuring out uneven walls, Eddie has the skill and the plan. And he’s not alone, Sam, Marvin, Daniel, Ernesto, Nelson, it’s an endless bench of superstars. Construction projects are never easy, but AJ is always honest and upfront about the budget, timing, and scope of work. More importantly, even though we expanded the project along the way, he made sure we were eating home cooked meals in just six weeks. We’ll definitely use Babylon Bay Construction again.

We selected Babylon Bay/Hampton Bay Construction after numerous on line searches and discussions with friends about their experiences with contractors. Our major kitchen renovation was completed on schedule with perfect results so we are confident that we made the correct decision. AJ, the owner, was great at communicating and keeping us informed at all times as our texts and emails were usually answered within a few minutes. In fact he developed the flu half way through the project but he still managed to communicate with us daily. He, or his project manager, Sam, were on site every day to meet with workers and to review progress. AJ is very detail oriented and made great suggestions as the project progressed. Our renovation involved a significant demo and not only replacement of floors, new countertops and backsplash but also major electrical and plumbing work. Every member of his crew or his subs were polite, responsive and obviously proud of their work and all seemed to have a great relationship with A.J. I know his company does a lot of high end work in the Hamptons but I was impressed by the reasonable cost of our renovation. His estimate was very detailed and specific and he made adjustments to it as we altered the project slightly. AJ arrived to inspect once the renovation was completed and to provide an immediate refund because we changed an electrical upgrade. I have nothing but praise for Babylon Bay Construction and would not hesitate to have AJ’s company do additional work in our home or to recommend him to friends.

AJ and his crew did a complete remodel of 2 bathrooms for me in 2019. I was first impressed with AJ's reliability and integrity. He is super responsive, returning calls/text/emails usually within minutes. He is very fair, truthful and will give an honest price. His crew is exceptional. If we were told an 8am arrival, it was an 8am arrival...breath of fresh air to be able to depend on a contractor. Crew was very skilled with both the rough work and finish work, absolutely came out beautiful! They also were very personable and likable.

Completely gutting and rebuilding a bathroom is not my idea of fun. It involves a lot of time and money. Most of all, it requires a competent contractor. We chose Hampton Bay Construction / Babylon Bay Construction over other contractors we interviewed because of AJ’s attention to detail. His walkthrough of the work he envisioned was very precise and included things other contractors usually glossed over or missed completely. His estimate was by far the easiest to read yet was very detailed. AJ gave me a sense that if issues arose, they’d be dealt with fairly. Finding good people isn’t easy. You often hear stories of broken promises, jobs that never get done, and extra unforeseen work that causes costs to spiral. That last one isn’t necessarily the fault of the contractor doing the new work. Some problems won’t reveal themselves until the demolition phase. You can never completely know what’s hidden underneath the floor and walls. When problems inevitably arise, you want to deal with people you can trust. There was damage to some of the studs caused by carpenter ants. A baseboard radiator from our heating system was routed under the old tub and had to be removed. The previous homeowner apparently paid to have insulation blown into the walls from the outside of the house, but whoever they hired either didn’t do the job or used such cheap insulation that it turned to dust. AJ and his team were able to fix all these issues without gouging me like other contractors are apt to do. I’m not a designer, nor am I an expert in bathroom furniture and fixtures. AJ helped point us in the right direction. He gave us a list of suppliers he recommends and provided suggestions whenever we needed them. AJ and his staff always showed up on time and put in the hours they promised. They were always available if we had a question or issue. We had the same group working on our project and all of them were top notch. I can recommend Hampton Bay Construction / Babylon Bay Construction wholeheartedly.

We hired AJ to handle extensive work/remodeling on the interior of our new home. We did a complete gut renovation of two bathrooms and the kitchen; replaced all windows and doors; refinished the floors throughout the house; and created a jack-and-jill pass through for the master bath/two bedrooms. There was very detailed electrical work performed, including complicated wiring for two delicate sconces, as well as high end carpentry throughout. He also did some work on the exterior of the house due to the window replacement. This does not include the multitude of smaller projects that AJ managed/tackled as they came up. We honestly could not have been luckier in finding him. We are extremely pleased with how everything turned out and there has not been a single issue now that we are moved in and functional. The work is beautiful and exactly to our specifications. He was courteous, professional, responsive, and knowledgable. I underline all of these things because we have worked with many other vendors on our home and he was far and away the shining example of what you look for in a general contractor. His technical expertise is exceptional - anything we asked him, he had an answer or guidance on the optimal and cost-efficient way to approach. One thing we really appreciated about AJ was his availability by text or phone. He is very quick to get back to you when you reach out, and that was important to us. Even after the work was completed, we had a few questions and he responded immediately. He gave us suggestions/recs on other professionals to use (HVAC) and we have been very pleased with them as well. He takes his role very seriously and is concerned with making his clients happy. He provided a detailed, line item contract. There were absolutely no surprises along the way. Everything was discussed before the work started, including the smaller add-ons as we went along. We will work with AJ and his team (who are also the utmost professionals) on anything more we do to our home. He is a gem and we recommend him unequivocally.

We first met AJ in October 2014. My husband and I bought a fixer-upper (note, we'd NEVER owned a house before), but we figured we'd try our hands at renovating one since it seemed so easy on t.v. We honestly had no idea what we were getting into, but we had a plan and decided to split up the renovation in phases. We were going to fix the outside first and then the inside. We then searched for highly rated contractors who did work in our area, had them all come on different days and give us cost estimates. That was when we learned that not all contractors are made equal. A.J. was literally the LAST contractor we saw out of the five. He honestly was at a disadvantage just because he was last, but as soon as he came to see our house he started giving us ideas we didn't even think of on how to make our house better and not just fix the existing structure. His proposal wasn't the cheapest, BUT it was very fair and we were willing to pay a little extra because at the end of the day you get what you pay for. AJ was also super responsive which we also learned is a big deal out here (many contractors act like they are doing you a favor). AJ was very detailed, had with no hidden costs and we knew right away where we stood with him. AJ is a straight shooter and he blew all the other contractors out of the water (note, those other guys were “A” rated too, so they were good but AJ was better)! Our home renovation job wasn't minor... we were literally rebuilding the entire outside of the house, re-sizing and replacing all 32 CUSTOM windows, creating reverse gables from scratch to change the exterior look, building out a brand new bathroom, renovating another bathroom, building a new walk-in closet, and demolishing and rebuilding an entirely new kitchen. That scope of work is INSANE for people who've never owned a house before. It was a really overwhelming (and not cheap) project to undertake, so if I'd known what it entailed upfront I'm not sure we would have gone through it, BUT AJ really guided us through everything and he had so many chances to rip us off (due to our ignorance about the process), but that NEVER happened. The man is so honest and so transparent and all of his workers are the same way. He's built a good business and he should be proud. My husband and I would highly recommend AJ and Babylon Bay to ANYONE for ANY JOB large or small.

I had a deck project that came out amazing - under budget and on time. AJ was great as was all the guys who were on the job site very professional. The best part was that we had one idea in mind but once we discussed it with AJ - he showed us design options we didn't even think would be possible. We went with maintenance free vinyl railings and lattice which really made a big difference and maintaining and the look of the deck. Great job! I would recommend them to anyone.

We replaced window , doors, siding. Replaced all the insulation around the entire house, Needless to say this was a major project. We had numerous estimates . AJ was the only contractor that wrote a proposal. We actually had some contractors that never even measured the house! AJ delivered on everything ! His crews showed up on time every day. AJ was on the site almost every day. The work is outstanding. We are very pleased.

I have used Babylon Bay for 2 home improvement projects to date. The first was to repair insect damage to my home, the second was to renovate my den. On both occasions, the crew was punctual,and performed the work in a timely manner. At the end of the day, the area and the surrounding areas were thoroughly cleaned. You cannot go wrong with Babylon Bay Construction, and I have actually had them work on my house on several different occasions other than the one listed below. Their pricing is fair, and what prompted me to hire them the first time was their willingness to give me more than one estimate on a particular job, depending on the quality of the fixtures, fans, doors, and other items. Also on several occasions the workers observed small things I hadn't mentioned or even noticed, such as a doorbell that needed to be secured with stronger screws, and they took the initiative and went ahead and fixed the item. Babylon Bay Construction was on time, on schedule, and on top of everything that was done, and all the work was professionally done and finished. Everyone was polite, pleasant and extremely competent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and to have them do more work for me, which, as a matter of fact, will be this summer.
