We just settled on our house in Malvern with Hellings Builders. This is our 11th house and have had both good and bad experiences in our multiple housing projects. We have never had a great experience- until this project with Hellings Builders!! I can’t rave enough about the process- we received a building schedule on day one that showed a daily/weekly plan for what would be accomplished until the date of settlement. Not only did Hellings meet the timelines, they actually exceeded them. Hellings uses dedicated vendors that are timely, efficient and superb. I would describe most of these vendors as “artists”- truly superb workmanship. If you contemplate building- go with Hellings. What a wonderful experience.

We had our new kitchen in DE completely gutted and redone by Hellings. Jay Theuer was a professional perfectionist who says what he does then does what he says Never a hiccup, never a gap, never a lame excuse for any reason. Just action. Cohesiveness, organization and camaraderie. If you have a team who performs in such a manner that you actually miss the guys coming to your home every day to work when the job is finished, then tell me what higher praise you can possibly bestow. Having had experience in building and renovations it was important for us to find a builder that we could trust to provide a quality product. Hellings Builders far exceeded our every expectation. Ross,Barry and the entire Hellings team were incredible. They are true professionals and have building impeccable, quality, custom homes down to a science. Every single trade they used on site were true craftsman and extremely skilled. The attention to detail and making sure that everything was completed just right was greatly reassuring. Additionally, the manufacturers and products they choose to use are among the best which further lets you know this is a quality builder who refuses to use inferior products because they take pride in what they produce since their name is on it. Ross and Barry along with the rest of the team did an incredible job on our addition. We added a two story addition with family room and a garage, completed June 2017. They were a pleasure to work with, completed the project on time and in budget. They were extremely responsive to any questions we raised during the construction. They were very conscientious of our needs and did a great job keeping the rest of the house livable while construction was ongoing over a 6 month period. They worked well with our architect to ensure the project matched the proposed specifications. We could not be more pleased with the addition!

We have been working on the planning stages to remodel our 20 year old small kitchen with the thought of removing a load bearing wall from kitchen to living room, and making use of our dining room by transitioning our existing kitchen to the dining room, and opening up the space. We also wanted to redo our fireplace, and knew what we wanted, and they worked with us to create a beautiful fireplace. Because our room was being opened up, details were important. We hired Hellings Builders to do the entire renovation. From the very first day, Ross Hellings' team was professional, consistent, patient, eased our minds from the very beginning, and we couldn't have asked for a better team to do the renovation. We are very happy, and would hire them again.

Fine cedar siding installed fiber cement siding and vinyl soffit with aluminum facia. Every thing was ready at the start of the job and install went smoothly.

Ross and i have worked together through out the Wellinghouse Preserve project on various aspects. We were able to keep his homes priced to sell in a tough market, through planning and teamwork. Hellings Builders built a custom house for my family about eight years ago. As anyone who has built a house knows, it can be an exciting but stressful time. We worked closely with Ross Hellings and Steve Murphy from the beginning: choosing house plans, making modifications to the plans, establishing a plan for the construction project, and choosing materials for the build. (Ross even gave us guidance on finalizing the construction loan.) As the construction project went forward, Ross stayed in touch to keep us informed and to help us make important decisions, but he didn't overwhelm us with details. He knew which decisions we needed to make and which ones he and his subcontractors could make on their own. During that hectic time, we appreciated that! (We live near Amish country and we have respect for quality Amish craftsmanship--Ross used Amish carpenters to do the framing on our house!) Architectural Alliance has provided Hellings Builders architectural services for a 2 story 5,0000 sf. residence which integrates the ca 1833 historic 2 story residence. This residence is one of Eleven new addresses in the Willing Preserve crafted by Hellings Builders. The historic residence serves as a 2 story suite to the new main body of the house with a bedroom suite above a spacious study and walk-in fireplace. Newer 1950s and 60s additions were removed from the original historic core to preserve the historic essence of the new home ensemble. The new family room nests neatly against the study and as a result frames the best view in the neighborhood of the rolling and verdant Chester County landscape. This home as well as its new neighbors captures rich molding outlines, scaled roof lines, stone work, stucco and siding found in the original architecture.

CJ Miller Vacuum Center, Inc. installed a high-end built-in central vacuum system in a Hellings Builders home. They were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process: estimating, rough-in, completion and payment. We look forward to working with them in the near future.

Hellings Builders replaced 17 windows in our home with custom "Pella Architect Series" windows. I highly recommend their work. The team ordered the windows and had them delivered on time, they removed the old windows, replaced a lot of wood rot, installed the windows from the outside without disrupting any of the interior molding, and capped the exterior with coated aluminum and somehow made it look like a custom detail trim around the windows. These should last forever and look gorgeous! Their pricing was fair and the quote was detailed and accurate. We had multiple quotes for the same job and theirs was the most reasonable and what I expected to pay. The workers were organized, polite, punctual, and detail oriented. Communication was a breeze throughout the project. I think every window install looks perfect! We highly recommend them. The team was easy to communicate with and the owner has a fine attention to detail and hires great staff.
