IMC Building

Below is an overview of my experiences during a renovation by IMC Buildling/Isaac Montgomery in 2024. •The day after I closed, on my new house Isaac called and said “one of my guys” left tools in the house overnight and a window and the outside door to the garage had been severely damaged. I found out later his unlicensed and unsupervised son was responsible. Isaac did not reimburse me for the over $2K for replacements. •My garage was used to fabricate stone for the kitchen (permission not requested). Isaac said it had to be done on-site since it was sintered stone. That is not the case, and in addition the installer was a tile installer who had no idea how to install slabs. Instead of a plywood base he put in a sandy base and used thin set instead of silicone to mount the stone. When he put in a ¼” seam in the middle of my countertop I put a stop to it and hired a qualified contractor who had to replace everything. •I had all of the existing flooring replaced with LVP and told Isaac I wanted to make sure no dust got into the HVAC system since I’d had a motor in my prior home burned out due to that. He said it would not be a problem. I found the flooring buys cutting boards inside my house with nothing protecting the HVAC vents. It caused $1,270 of damage that Isaac refused to pay. •The stairs were modified to open up the wall that enclosed them. Renovations started in April, but there was no banister until July. This was a huge liability for me as a homeowner, but my requests to quickly resolve it were ignored. In addition, the area for the railing on the outside of the stairs was mismeasured. The installation had to be kludged, resulting in very thick bases for the railing that don’t look great. •Isaac insisted on ordering all of the appliances so he could keep track of everything (and of course get points on his credit card instead of mIne). The refrigerator was not there when I moved in as it turned out it was not delivered for a week. •I had specified a drawer microwave which required the modification of a cabinet. The cabinet was modified for a standard microwave and had to be re-modified. Then that one was done incorrectly and it had to be modified a 3rd time. •I was told the flooring upstairs would be replaced by the time I moved in and the upstairs would be my “oasis.” The upstairs was absolutely thick with flooring dust everywhere – truly disgusting. The downstairs was also filthy and my new (unused) induction range was not covered and was thick with dust – including in the vents. •Multiple new unused items that I was replacing were taken by Isaac without asking (lighting, sink, faucets, over-the-range microwave, pedestal sink). When I asked for them back Isaac threw them unsecured into the back of a pickup and broke a couple of the light fixtures. •By the time I fired the contractor the project was $6K over the entire budget with 12 projects unfinished. I received zero apologies for any of this.

We had the pleasure of working with Isaac and Deborah from IMC, and it was an outstanding experience. What set them apart from others was their ability to understand our vision beyond just executing our requests. They were able to take our thoughts and transform them into an incredible kitchen design. They were always available to answer questions and consistently went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. The process was lengthy, but they were realistic in setting our expectations and delivered on their promise to complete the job on time. Without hesitation, we will use them again for future projects and highly recommend their services.

Issac and Deborah are a great team of style and practicality. Before we began our project, we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, after dreaming about it for 10 years. Then Issac came in and suggested small, thoughtful tweaks that made the space function to the best of its ability (thinking where towel racks go and how shower doors should open). And Deborah had the vision of how the new space should mesh and compliment the old existing finishes, and the rest of the house. We ended up with a PERFECT blend of old and new, of traditional style with a modern edge. It is a project that turned out better than we imagined, and that pretty much says it all! Issac and Deborah were communicative and responsive. Answering questions never seemed to be a burden. And they have great senses of humor. We felt well cared for and usually deferred to their judgement, which was always spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed them throughout the process of making this house our home.

No need to contact another contractor. I had a perfect experience with my bathroom remodel with IMC. Yes, a perfect experience,. Issac was very patient and helpful during the entire project length,. This is not a contractor who starts the project and then disappears., Work was continuous. I would run various finishes and designs by Issac and Deborah and they would explain the pros and cons of each question, Excellent about providing the weeks schedule and subs and providing time of arrival during the day. The subs can. make or break and project. The subs IMC used were excellent to work with and conscious about doing an outstanding job. I do not look at my project months later and see a small issue that was overlooked.

Isaac and his team were exactly what we were looking for. Professional, meticulous, and most of all, approachable and easy to work with. As newbies to an extensive home remodel they answered every single question we had about kitchens and bathrooms and hallways and ceilings and cabinets and everything with patience and honesty. They taught us about the process as we went and took extra time to explain options as we added things on to our project. We trusted them and their contractors to enter our home on their terms. They were thorough from start to finish and our new kitchen and bathroom came out even better then we had dreamed up. If you want an exceptional all around great team to work with for your project, IMC was a great find.

We are very fortunate to have IMC Building, Isaac as our Contractor and Deborah - Design. We worked from Design to Completion as a collaborative team – we had a vision for the end result but weren’t sure how to get there. With Isaac and Deborah, we achieved our vision and more! Isaac is a very knowledgeable contractor and has an eye for detail. All of the contractors Isaac used were very good. Integrity and honesty are operative words when working with IMC. Communication was always open between us. Our home was transformed from a closed-in and dark living space to an open, airy and inviting environment. IMC is an incredible company to do business with. There isn’t anything that we would change.

We love working with IMC Building! Isaac and his team are consummate professionals. They take great care in getting things right. And I appreciate Isaac's design sense. He helps to guide us in a direction that ensures we are confident about our final outcome.

Isaac is very reliable and easy to work with. He does beautiful work. He knows what he is doing and wants to make sure his clients are happy. The people he has working with him are also top notch. His assistant Deborah made sure everyone adhered to their schedule. He helped us update our kitchen. We are very happy with the results and would contract with him again without hesitation.

You often hear of major home remodels being a nightmare experience, but our project with IMC was well managed, organized, and even in a way enjoyable thanks to their expertise and kindness. From start to finish, communication was made a top priority. We were given ample time to discuss and understand exactly what each step of the project would entail, and provided with the support needed to make some really hard decisions - and there are a lot of decisions in this process! IMC was considerate of our family’s needs from kids to pets, as well as our professional and personal schedules and space. They are well organized, efficient, and always two steps ahead of the plan in anticipation of any surprises. They are very knowledgeable and have an eye for the slightest of details and ideas to make your space not only beautiful but functional as well. IMC has transformed our home into a wonderful place for our family. We could not be more pleased. Thank you, IMC, for making our dream a reality!

Issac is a true professional. His company was organized, on time and everyone was so pleasant to work with. The work done was of high quality and they managed any questions and concerns we had efficiently and effectively. His bid was very accurate and the timeline he set out was followed. Overall, we were extremely happy with our home remodel that he completely for us. We were referred to him by my parents who had him do a very large home remodel the year prior and they were very happy with his work. My Mother is not easy to please in respect to the details of her home! Most of all, I appreciate working with someone who has integrity, and Issac embodies that.

Isaac and Deborah and the rest of their team are some of the best teams I've had the privilege of working with. They're quite knowledgeable in the industry. Isaac is great to work with and Deborah has the best eye for colors and her interior design touch makes all projects look like a million dollars. We couldn't be happier with the work and communication we received from Isaac, Deb, and the sub-contractors of IMC Building! They walked us through the process and helped us visualize the changes being made to our space. When presented with ideas, they gave us experienced, unbiased feedback that made the functionality and overall aesthetics that we were hoping for. We bought an older home this past year and had it remodeled by Isaac Montgomery, owner of IMC. From the beginning, Isaac and his crew were competent and excellent at problem-solving all the issues which show up after demolition of an older house. Additional areas to be remodeled were added as we went along and Isaac was very good at 'going with the flow'. The quality of work by his sub contractors was good and we are very pleased with the outcome. We highly recommend IMC for any remodel/building project.

Isaac and his fantastic crew did a complete remodel of our 35 year old kitchen, and WOW what an amazing job he did! We can't even believe it is the same space. Isaac took down walls, opened up our low kitchen ceiling and turned our ugly grey tile 80's kitchen into the most gorgeous farmhouse inspired kitchen. Isaac was a joy to work with! He is excellent at communication and did a wonderful job coordinating all of the subs required to complete this massive undertaking. We were not the easiest clients, as we had a lot of ideas and kept adding onto the original project, but Isaac took it all in stride, and implemented our ideas with and smile and great professionalism. Isaac does a great job of listening and taking your ideas and making them into a masterpiece. I would hire Isaac again in a second, and if you are considering doing any remodel or new build, I would recommend that you pick up the phone and call him right now!

Isaac and the IMC team transformed our "what-did-you-buy?" 1960s house into our "I can't believe it's the same space" dream home. Throughout the process, Isaac encouraged a collaborative environment, allowing for an exchange of ideas that created a one-of-a-kind look. Above all, it was a stressless journey--even entertaining at times. From the baseboards to the metal roof, from the landscaping to the master suite addition, from the floors to the vaulted ceilings, IMC's attention to detail and quality turned an 'unlikely' idea into reality.

My husband and I had our kitchen remodeled ... which has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Working with Isaac and his team of professionals was a delight. They were knowledgeable, providing direction and design options that were both aesthetic and functional. They were also flexible in working within my design parameters, especially regarding the built-in hutch. Knobs were installed from two different designs I purchased directly from Houzz. The work quality was stellar and they remained, reasonably, within the time frame and budget provided. We are thrilled with the kitchen and are receiving numerous compliments. I highly recommend IMC Building.

We are currently using Isaac for our kitchen remodel and couldn't be happier with his services. He is extremely easy to work with, has a great disposition, is conscientious, professional, creative, and follows through. Isaac came into our project after we had already spent several weeks trying to general it ourselves and making very little headway. He immediately came up with a plan of action and had needed contractors at our house the next day. He has done a great job of managing our project, helping with design, communicating with subs, and making sure all timelines stay on track and flow smoothly. When he sets a date or appointment, he keeps them, shows up on time, if not early, and is consistently available for consultation or to stop by the project if needed. We have also been impressed with the subcontractors he has arranged. They are well established and experienced, conscientious, timely, and trustworthy. We have lived through several home projects over the years and our experience with IMC Building has definitely been the best. Isaac exemplifies expert professionalism and we are extremely pleased to have him running our project.

Isaac and IMC Building did a hallway and bathroom remodel for us. Both turned out fabulous! We couldn't be happier. Isaac is the consummate professional--he and his team were efficient and courteous. Isaac is a good guy, so easy to work with. He's perfectionist too which means he wasn't satisfied unless every detail was done correctly. The end result was more beautiful than we imagined!

We are presently using IMC Building for the second time. They built a large redwood deck for us a few years ago. Now they are remodeling our kitchen. After that we will remodel two bathrooms. We are very pleased with their professionalism, attention to details, punctuality, and friendliness. We highly recommend them to anyone who is considering a remodel or update to their home. Their suggestions on new ideas are always great, and have made it easy on us in so many ways.

Let me start by saying I have built 2 homes and remodeled multiple, using multiple contractors. I have used IMC Building on my last 2 projects...the remodel of a 120+ year old home and a granny unit. They are hands down the best contractor I have ever worked with. Isaac is so easy to work with and his vast knowledge in all trades allowed me to make solid, well informed decisions that not only affected my wallet but also my design ideas. Isaac and his subs were respectful, courteous, and worked within budgets and timelines. The work IMC performed was impeccable and beyond what I had expected. Maybe the best thing about IMC Building is the owner Isaac Montgomery. He is a man of his word, hardworking, and exhausts all efforts to make sure his clients get exactly what they want. I will continue to use Isaac and his company for any construction projects I have in the future.

We hired IMC Building to completely remodel our kitchen. From the design (which Isaac worked with us to design), to the installation of cabinetry, electrical, appliances, tile floor and granite counter tops, and painting, the work was accomplished with attention to detail and quality work. There were a few challenges (with a vendor) during the project, which Isaac handled well and to our satisfaction. The project was completed in a timely manner. When my wife and I moved to the Central Coast from the Central Valley (sound familiar?), we wanted not just a change in scenery, or cooler temperatures, we wanted a lifestyle change. We bought a mobile home in a great spot, but the home had an existing 3-level deck that was very old, poorly designed, and really just ugly. We interviewed 3 different builders, and we did not have to look any further once we met Isaac, the proprietor of IMC Building. He just understood exactly what we wanted without a lot of need for us to draw the picture. In fact, he drew the pictures! Mobile home parks have some surprisingly stringent requirements for decks, Isaac was able to wade through the confusing, arbitrary, and sometimes contradictory requirements from the state agency that oversees mobile homes. The end result is that we got an amazingly stout structure that looks incredible and gives us literally hours of joy each and every day. We added 1,000 sq ft of livable space to our mobile home, and we recommend IMC Building to everyone who asks about our beautiful deck.
