Kellow Construction

I didn’t think this level of professionalism existed in residential construction prior to working with Kellow. Before even starting, they put an enourmous amount of thought into the project, approach, steps, access, storage spots, materials, etc. This effectively minimized any surprises and made the work itself somewhat mundane, which I find joyous and very different from all my past experiences when working on the home you live in. Every workday they did just one or two things and left things not just picked up and orderly but fully clean! (I have spent many days of my life picking up and cleaning after previous contractors we have hired.) All work progressed as planned and completed a week ahead of schedule. Construction is never without some surprises but once again the way they handled them was next level. Stones in a deteriorating stone planter wall shifted just from then working near it and they repaired it to better than before. The underside of an cantilevered part of the house adjacent to where they were working was not built right 40 years ago when the house was built and again they fixed it to better than new, even after we discussed and I said work on this clearly wasn’t in our agreement or their problem. They also added technically unnecessary bolts to strengthen a few connections to pacify my perfectionist tendencies. None of this was expected and all of this was done without debate, tension, change orders or additional cost. Unbelievable! This may be the first time I’ve ever hired a contractor and done absolutely nothing to help things along myself. Just amazing. Kellow was definitely not the cheapest option but I really feel we got everything we paid for and then some. Thank you guys, we can’t wait for our next project!

I cannot recommend Kellow Construction enough! We needed a pole in our living room removed - right before Christmas - eek! Well there was absolutely nothing to worry about. The team that came in was so knowledgeable about the work and even had ways we hadn't thought of to make it better. The guys could not have been more friendly and kind. I truly got the sense that they all really loved what they do and genuinely enjoyed each other. I feel like that came through in the amazing job they did. Not only did they do a fantastic job on the project, they left the house better than they found it. You would never have guessed that we had construction done - it was spotless. Kiel always answered any questions that we had thoroughly and thoughtfully, always including both my husband and me in the process. And to top it off, he is just a sincerely great guy and a pleasure to talk to. It is rare to have work done without any hassles or stress but I've never even heard of anyone actually enjoying the process, but that is exactly what you'll get with Kellow Construction. We can't wait to have them back for more projects!

Kiel Kellow and his crew designed and built a beautiful deck for my sister who was ill at the time. They not only were excellent at the construction but were extremely sensitive to my sister’s condition. I will use Kellow Construction again and look forward to that experience. This team's attention to detail shone through in all aspects from keeping the site cleaned up to managing an outstanding array of thoughtful subcontractors made the process especially easy -- important as we were not on the job site for much of the project and needed to trust in our Contractor's ability to share, shed light and make recommendations. Kellow was so respectful our opinions (and our budget), always listening carefully to our concerns and desires. They brought some terrific seasoned perspective and problem solving to our project that allowed us to end up with more than we thought possible. We can't recommend this team highly enough!

We had a fantastic overall experience with Kellow Construction on the structurally complex remodel of our historic home, a former barn built in 1888. From the tip of the roof to the foundation, Kiel and team not only have the construction expertise that brought our old house back to life for another 100+ years, but are also talented at design and did beautiful finish work that went beyond our expectations. A lump sum contract was important to us, and Kellow did a thorough job with pre-construction planning, detailing an agreement that worked within our budget. They had a respect for our old house and have a passion for their craft. They were engaging and communicative throughout the project and really met us where we were at with regard to our desire for input and involvement, which really made the experience enjoyable. We highly recommend them and feel lucky and proud to now live in a home they helped create.

We highly recommend Kellow Construction! It has been a pleasure working with Kiel and the KC team. We decided to embark in a long distance full renovation and modernization of a 1970 cottage. After our first meeting we felt we could trust the KC team for the work to be executed perfectly. Their values of Excellence, Honesty, Professionalism and Responsiveness were in full display during the whole process. It was a true partnership from the design phase throughout the execution. Their attention to detail and incredible communication skills made the process seamless, and stress free for us remotely located. It has been a pleasure working with Kiel and the Kellow Construction team on our most recent remodel. We have a craftsman built in the 1920's that we were looking to update, while still maintaining its character and the original elements of the house we loved so much. Kiel and Mike totally understood our vision and helped bring our dream into a reality. They went above and beyond on our project and we could not be more pleased. The team is organized, communicative and thorough, doing it all with integrity. While they may not be the cheapest in town, we feel like we really got what we paid for and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Kellow Construction is a great local business and the team did wonderful work on our home! Kiel, Jason, and Meredith were easy to work with and they moved our project along efficiently. Renovations are stressful, and everyone was communicative and patient during the whole process. We are so happy with the end result!

I first used Kellow construction or the "Dream Team" which I call them to help me on a few contracting items that I needed to get done at my office building In Santa Barbara. From the very beginning Kiel Kellow, the owner, was on time, reliable, professional. and knowledgeable. I was given a written estimate which we all can appreciate and which he adhered to in the final process! Needless to say my first experience was wonderful. This first job lead me to my second experience with Kellow Construction. I did a complete remodel on a rental unit of mine. They painted the whole interior of the unit which was in rough shape, including cabinets inside and out. Wooden floors were sanded and stained. Bathrooms and kitchen were updated with new knobs, lighting, fixtures, electrical, blinds, and appliances. Old and broken windows with rope pulleys were restored. Meredith was instrumental too as she was the designer for Kellow Construction and made suggestions on various items and appliances to update the unit. Hello, June, 2022 This is a thank you and shout out to Kellow Construction Co. for the remodel of my almost dilapidated garage into a smart, stylish studio. The exposed beam ceiling added so much character along with the needed structural soundness as Kellow’s in-house engineer recommended. Kellow's suggestion for electrical placement to flooring was invaluable, as well as knowing the city’s guidelines for construction necessary of an ADU. In particular was the attention to stay within budget and seeking as best low cost of material needed made especially challenging during these pandemic times. Each member of the Kellow team I found not only integrity in their person but work, always flexible and in an approachable atmosphere.
