RSU Contractors

Jim Walker did an excellent job managing our build and keeping us informed throughout the process, and David Quinn bent over backward to make sure everything went smoothly on site. While weather and unavoidable supply-chain issues caused minor delays, from Pat Bouton, RSU’s managing partner, to Theresa Gundel, the project record-keeper, to Shea and the other on-site craftsmen, everyone was professional and did their best to make the entire process a success. We’re beyond pleased with the results!

Avoid working with this company at all costs. The work is sub par, the excuses and blame shifting phenomenal, and the budget is not even a guideline. The expectation that we would pay 10’s of thousands over budget forced us to end our contract without complete work. Avoid the heartache.

This review's overdue but I would never recommend RSU. In 2017 we did a really extensive remodel of over $250K. We expanded our kitchen, bumped out our laundry room, created an outdoor space/outdoor kitchen/pergola/covered patio, redesign front entry with new steps/covered doorway/ new door, and put in new hardwoods throughout most of the first floor. We used an architect to design all and hired RSU b/c architect recommendation. The project started ok but shortly after our PS seemed apathetic and lazy. To sum up what went wrong: Ceiling in addition was higher than main house (had to shim it, redrywall and it led to other off measurements, hardwood floors had swirl marks all over after acclimation/sanding/staining process leading to redo & greatly compromised wood. Concrete for patio poured before lighting conduit placed despite telling them it was in the plans. Took many attempts to place beams evenly in pergola (pretty sure they'd had left them unevenly spaced but we spoke up). When putting in new front door we noticed some cracking in drywall of room above door but they denied they caused it. We now have a vertical crack in our wall. A window that needed replacing was incorrectly ordered, painted. There's so much more lack of attention throughout and not enough characters allowed. The actual laborers were all nice, hardworking, honest. Those in charge were less so. Interestingly, they have never posted pics of our project anywhere despite taking many.

I've had RSU Contractors to perform two remodeling projects in my home. In both situations, Tom was the lead and Jim was the superintendant. I was very pleased with their work, with their responsiveness, with their competitive bid, a with their flexibility. I will definitely look to RSU fof all my project needs in the future.

We hired RSU for attic renovation(added a bedroom/bathroom). We were impressed with the comprehensive estimate and good communication throughout the project. It was finished on time and within budget. The quality of work was excellent. We would highly recommend this company.

This was a master bathroom remodel which included total demo of bath & closet. Tub was removed & replaced with walk-in shower. Master closet was reconfigured. RSU Contractors from designer, project manager to subs were all professional, courteous & actively engaged in the project. I had no issues at all & highly recommend this firm.

This was a major project involving architectural design, demolition, renovation, remodel, and new build. Overall level of satisfaction: excellent, could not be more pleased. Production Management; Project Supervisor; Site Workers; Quality of Work Performed; Worksite Neatness/Cleanliness; Worker Professionalism/Courtesy; Vendor Selection; Guidance on Material Selection; Value for Investment; Sales Staff; Administrative Personnel; all Excellent. Project workers were consistently courteous, skillful craftsmen, and super customer oriented. All but one vendor performed excellent work and RSU had one poor vendor work re-accomplished. If issues were discovered they were remedied without additional cost. RSU was very flexible in handling change orders and all were discussed for cost and benefit before initiation. Project Supervisor was exceptional in explaining production and changes and was highly skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable. Production Supervise led us in weekly project status meetings, planned vendor visits for materials selection, extremely budget conscious, and made it obvious his goal was to meet our expectations of a quality project. Recommend construction site quality reviews of project work prior to each weekly project meeting with customers.

Actual work was good, but communications was awful. Had to fight to get ETA on material. Workers generally on site only 1 or 2 days out of 5. An 8 week project took 15 weeks. Had to fight to get responses to issues. Total lack of communications. They do good work, but you have to work really hard to get responses. Total lack of involvement by management.

Contracted for design plans for bathroom and laundry room. We paid for the design but never received the final plans. We met with "Lauren" to finalize the design, one Saturday, but these design changes were apparently lost. To summerize: we did not receive what we paid for.

Completed a master bath renovation. The job was done professionally, completely and on budget. Would not hessitate to use them again. Highly recommend their service.
