Unfortunately, my experience working with Nick has been disappointing. 1. He originally stated he could match the stair steps to our tile floor. After installation, it became clear that the match was off. He later blamed the type of wood we purchased (redwood), but this should have been addressed upfront so we could’ve selected appropriate materials. As a result, we had to paint the steps black. He returned to repaint them due to bubbling, but even now, the finish is inconsistent—some steps are glossy, others are matte. 2. I’m still scraping off grout droppings left behind on the tile floor—clearly a sign of poor workmanship. 3. Nick has not provided receipts for materials I paid for, including returns that should have resulted in a credit to me. Without receipts, I’m unable to reconcile the charges. 4. I have repeatedly requested a “Completion Certificate” since he has been 100% paid as of April 2025. This still has not been provided. 5. Most concerning, Nick has stopped responding to my messages and calls altogether. I always try to support local contractors, but I would not recommend this company based on my experience. Communication, follow-through, and professionalism were seriously lacking.

I am so pleased with the work that Speur Construction & Design performed for me. I felt supported every step of the way and appreciated all of the help and insight I was offered in order to make informed decisions about my project. The amount of money I spent was exactly the amount I was quoted before the project began and the timeline was also what I expected. I was impressed by the high quality of the work and the attention to detail by Nick and his team. My project had several components to it, including new floors, new interior/exterior paint, a new bathroom, new fixtures of all kinds, repairing/replacing drywall, masonry, and more! I felt so relieved to know that Nick was handling the overall project. All I had to do was sit back and watch the progress unfold! When little unexpected issues popped up here and there (as they always do with these types of projects), Nick was proactive about communicating the issues to me and offering solutions. You can feel the caring and personal touch of Speur Construction & Design and I imagine that contributes greatly to the company's success. I would confidently refer this company to others and hire them again for my own projects in the future! Thank you, Speur!

Have Nick bid your remodel. Seriously. Have Speur Construction bid your remodel. If you don’t, you’ll miss the opportunity to build your dream with a professional contractor who’s big on detail, great on communication, and yes, he’s even very friendly. Having been disappointed by commercial and residential contractors, I was pleasantly surprised, no, I was amazed at the ease of doing business with this professional whose bid was the lowest, who started the job on time, completed the job on time and on budget, and although his efficiency eliminated the need for much communication, was “Johnny on the Spot” when need be. I wish I had another project for him. He actually made the process enjoyable. My patio addition is flawless. It’s exactly what I had envisioned. So. What have we learned here? Have Nick bid your remodel, or next time I see you I’ll say, “I told you so.”

I cannot say this enough, Nick and his crew were excellent. They did everything they could to make this kitchen upgrade as painless as possible. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. I am 76 and have dealt with contractors all my life, especially when I was selling real estate but have never had a contractor as honest and transparent as Nick. He has renewed my faith in contractors and I would HIGHLY recommend him and his crew.

I bought an 1980 home, I was not happy with the living room/ family room. I preferred one big open space which involved moving my kitchen. I interviewed Nick, he gave me some ideas and pricing which seemed to be a fair price for me. After he got to work, I found out how knowledgable he really was in the construction field. He solved every single problem that arose due to my 1980 build home. I have learned in the past with older homes, surprises always show up and he was impeccable at facing them head on. He kept me informed about the process of my project and I feel warm and fuzzy every time I sit down in my new space. Thank you Nick!!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Nick Martineau of Speur Construction for our master bathroom remodel. The contractor we originally engaged dropped out of sight so we consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Nick. We placed lot of trust in Nick as we were out of town for almost all of the project. He stayed in contact with us throughout, always available for an update on the work. As the general contractor for the project, Nick brought in the best contractors resulting in a beautiful bathroom. Nick is very adept at problem solving and made sure that our property was respected and secure. This remodel was a success in large part because of Nick. We highly recommend Speur Construction.

Speur Construction did a "from the studs out" remodel for an 1800 sq foot home for us, located in South Scottsdale, AZ. The quality of the construction work by Nick and his team is amazing. However, above and beyond the actual construction work, Nick's customer service was the best I have encountered when dealing with a General Contractor. Nick had very relevant suggestions for layout and design choices. My partner and I will definitely recommend Nicholas Martineau, Speur Construction, and be hiring them again.

We enjoyed working with Nick & his crew. Everyone was very professional & respectful of our home. We will definitely use them for any future projects.
