Rob and his team are fabulous! My family had a 4-year saga that started with another contractor that could have ended in disaster Our prior contractor and his subcontractors made a tremendous number of errors and ultimately abandoned us. Rob and his team ultimately saved us. We met Rob through a flooring subcontractor who we knew well. Before even agreeing to meet with us, Rob requested permission to walk through our house with his team to make sure that he felt comfortable even completing our project. His team was very thorough and inspected the prior work with a critical eye to make sure that they could complete the home safely and to everyone's satisfaction. After his initial inspection, we had the opportunity to meet Rob. It was clear that he is a different type of contractor. He is respected by his subcontractors, many of whom claimed decades-long relationships with him. His clients raved about his transparency and accountability. After an initial assessment of the partially completed house, his first task was to identify the scope of the project and the things that were most important to us. He was very sensitive to our prior experience and made it his mission to understand our goals and achieve them. Throughout our project, he was very clear with the billing process. Without fail, we received a detailed invoice every week with all of the supporting documentation. When we had questions, he answered them right away. Even on the weekends or when he was out of town, he would respond to us via email, text, and phone. He did not hesitate to meet with us. He encouraged us to ask questions and engage with his team. Many mornings, we would start the day with the group messages addressing any outstanding issues. He always wanted to make sure that everyone was on board with the same plan. Importantly, we essentially finished in line with our budget. As expected, there were a few instances where things did not go as planned. He was fair and took responsibility for his team's work. It was precisely what we needed. The construction took a little longer than we all expected, but some of the delays were out of our hands. Now, after having lived in the house for a year, we are finally leaving a review. We have a few things outstanding on our "30-day punch list," and we are confident that these things will be addressed properly. My family has actually delayed finishing these things to a certain extent for our convenience and to make it efficient for the subcontractors who helped us so much. We have, and will continue to, recommend Rob and his team without reservation.

Rob’s renovation of the 3600 square feet main level of our home is nothing short of amazing. The main level was totally gutted and remodeled from floors to ceiling. Our dated kitchen and master bathroom alone has been transformed from dark and dated to a more functional and beautiful bright and open space. We selected Rob Cuthbertson because of the quality work that he had already accomplished in our neighborhood. During the design phase he and his team provided excellent advice and ideas. During construction his attention to detail was the best I had experienced in my previous construction projects. If we have to do any additional projects, Rob will be the person we go to as his work is top of the line and his integrity and ethics are of the highest standard.

I've often heard that building a home is a stressful process. I can honestly say, with Rob as my partner in this endeavor, I did not have a lot of stress. That is really saying something as we were building during supply chain shortages and disconnects and pricing was going crazy! But Rob was transparent and proactive with his communications and we shifted in the budget to accommodate pricing concerns outside of our control. The house itself is very solidly built. Rob's teams are highly skilled and work diligently. We never had issues with no one working for days on end and Rob's attention to detail was superb! Rob's expertise and crafted skilled laborers built a fantastic, solid, and beautiful home. Never once did I feel Rob was a contractor - I always felt Rob was a trusted advisor and I greatly appreciate his skill, being customer-centric, and his professionalism.

We have worked with Rob on several projects over the past 12 years, most recently a total renovation of our lake house. His attention to detail and diligence in supervising and scheduling our subs made our project a success. He was always available whenever we needed him and rolled with the punches when we made changes to the plan. Despite the challenges of sourcing material and workers during the pandemic it all came together and we are thrilled with the result.

My wife and I enjoyed working with Rob Cuthbertson. We would use him again and can recommend him to others. Due to the location of our home on the property, a substantial amount of time was involved in the site prep. Rob coordinated well with the excavation crew that we selected, and made sure that excavation crew and landscape architect were all on the same page. Rob was excellent at communicating with us all along the way and was always very responsive. Rob's goal was for us to enjoy the building experience and be pleased with the end result - which we were and are. We found Rob's fee arrangement to be reasonable and felt that charges from his subs were appropriate. I'd rank Rob at the 4.5 star level - but only 4 or 5 seems to be an option.

This was my first time building and designing my own home. I am so glad that I had Rob to guide me step by step through the process. He was extremely helpful and made this experience as smooth as it could be. Rob always answers questions, and he is there when you need him. He is great with the design process as well! A great deal of time and thought went into getting just the right detail. It is very important to him that his clients are happy. He will work with you to make proper changes if needed. The Cuthbertson's are awesome people and they do amazing work. We wanted to build our dream deck and they did it for us!!! We have a 3 level deck all custom made. We also installed a 7 person hot tub on one of our levels and it's so steady it does not even move. We are very happy with their work. It was top quality, honest work, and they were quick and efficient. They kept us up to date on everything and we even went out of town. We felt like we could completely trust them and we are so happy they did the work. We are looking forward to using them in the future.
