Forrest M. Shackleton Custom Builder, LLC

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Forrest M. Shackleton, and I am a third generation Long Beach Island resident. I grew up in the house my grandfather built in 1935. In 2008, I built my dream home (left) next door to the family homestead. Following graduation from Southern Regional High School in 1986, I went to work as a carpenter’s apprentice, and I have been building new homes and completing extensive renovation projects ever since. I worked for several custom builders on the Island in order to hone my skills and learn the techniques of custom construction. In 1993, I struck out on my own. Since then, I have completed many renovations of existing houses and built 35 brand new homes on Long Beach Island. I use only subcontractors I have known since I first apprenticed in 1986. I have built a reputation with my subcontractors and artisans, so they consider me one of their primary sources, and they provide me special service. The pride I take in my work causes me to personally work with and supervise my workers as they build or renovate your home. Also, I work closely with my subcontractors, and I supervise their work and the work of their employees. From the base foundation to the final finishing nail on the interior, I build my homes as though I were building my own home.
