Square One Construction

⭐️ 1 Star – Major Construction Failure, Zero Accountability Square One renovated my home around 2021. There were numerous deficiencies which I discovered during the process which were corrected. I noticed water in the crawl space in 2024 but assumed it was due to perimeter drains which I had cleaned. In late 2025, I discovered the critical failure: a shower they installed was never connected to the waste line. For years, wastewater drained directly into the crawlspace behind furnace ducting, making the issue very difficult to detect. The result was extensive mold contamination and the loss of thousands of dollars in stored belongings, including clothing and family keepsakes. A licensed plumber who investigated the issue warned that the air was hazardous and found construction debris dumped into the open drain. When Square One attended, they dismissed the odor, suggested air freshener, and even recommended cutting into hardwood floors to vent the crawlspace into the living space—advice I refused. After I informed the owner of the actual cause, my call was not returned. Square One eventually paid to have the shower properly connected but refused to compensate for the damage caused. They also warned that posting a review or filing a BBB complaint could lead to legal action. This was a preventable, serious error that caused major financial loss and stress. Based on my experience, I strongly do not recommend Square One. Anyone considering them should independently verify all work—especially plumbing hidden behind walls and floors.

Recently completed a renovation of our master bedroom ensuite and walk-in closet of our home with the help of SquareOne Homes. Jordan and his team handled the planning and execution of the project with professionalism and organization. They gave us all the time we needed to settle on style and design options and then set a budget and project time line which was adhered to accurately. The trades were all high quality and appear to have a very good working relationship with SquareOne. At the end, we obtained the renovation of our dream and within projected cost. We would wholeheartedly endorse recommending Jordan for any size renovation or even a new home construction if we were to build. They are honest, punctual, reliable and above all listened to feedback and paid attention to details.

We used Square One for two of our commercial clinic build-outs and will use them for other clinics. In short, they were amazing. Professional, on time, on budget. They have the expertise to troubleshoot and have a high level of perfection. Excellent work.

From initial meeting with Jordan to discuss plans and budgets to final completion, we can not overstate our total satisfaction with Square One. Project came in on budget and time. Like most complex renovations , we added changes along the way, which added to the cost and time frame, but these were always calculated within days of our requests and again, no surprises, on time and on budget. Special mention would be to the quality and professionalism of all the sub trades who worked on this project. Obviously they are happy to be part of the Square One team. And it was pronounced that all trades took pride in their work and would not settle for anything less than perfection! Top marks to Todd, our on site Manager who handled all of our concerns and met with us on an almost daily basis to keep us informed of who, what, where and why it would be happening at our home. Jay kept the worksite impeccably clean which is so rare to see. Josie, the designer, took our obscure initial thoughts and created the modern and functional finish that we are now thrilled to live in.
