About Us

Our mission is to create a piece of art with every home we build while providing the homeowner with a harmonious experience throughout the building process. To make you, the homeowner, as proud of your new home as we are to build it for you. Owners Chris and Monica Strom describe their company as “small by choice” in order to maintain their customized approach to homebuilding. Dedicated to a high level of customer service and attention to detail on each home, they supervise every step of the process, maintaining open communication with their clients. With a background in construction and carpentry, Chris specializes in complex interior trim work with custom designed trim pieces to enhance & individualize each home. Strom Construction builds a limited number of homes each year to ensure that their clients’ building experiences are positive and personalized.

As a designer, I have had the pleasure of teaming up with Strom Construction on a several construction projects over the past several years. Chris Strom in an onsite, hands on General Contractor that is a team player, cares about each clients home and implements the design details to create the "look" and quality that each client desires. He is a great communicator and in working with Strom Construction the process of construction is smooth and timely. I would highly recommend him to build or remodel your home.

My wife and I had a chance 10 years earlier to walk through one of Chris Strom's recent builds. We loved the detail and quality finishes. Fast forward and we purchase a lot on Lake Norman and Strom Construction is the builder we hire. From the beginning working with Chris he was informative, reliable and very inclusive. Chris was always available to answer questions and when he saw something that didn't match the overall appearance of the home he came with suggestions and alternatives that were still within the budget. Our home won a local competition for 'best built home' on Lake Norman in 2016 competing against some much higher cost homes I highly recommend Strom Construction!

Storm Construction built our new garage this past summer. It turned out beautifully. This company earned our highest recommendation. They are honest, diligent and timely in all aspects of the construction process. From the initial estimate to the last walk through they were a pure joy to work with. Their work is of the highest quality. If we had the project to do over again...they are who we would call. If we have any construction needs in the future, rest assured they will be our company of choice.

This was a custom home on Lake Norman, NC. Began Oct. 2013 and completed March 2015. The design and elevations were very complex. The results, house won Best New Lakefront Home for 2016 by Homebuilders Association. The owner Chris Strom understands how to build beautiful custom homes. His personal specialty is moldings which really give a house a spectacular look.

We have worked with Strom Construction on 3 different major projects. Chris built our custom home and did 2 other major additions. Chris Strom has the professional experience and skills to do an excellent job and the personality to manage the process in a way that includes and is sensitive to the needs of the homeowner; right through to the conclusion of the project. His input and advice at the beginning and every step of the process was genuine and valuable. I have always had a positive experience working with Chris. I highly recommend Strom Construction.
