Alison was a delight to work with! This was my first time using a professional designer and it was a wonderful first experience. She worked with me to make sure everything was perfect. We couldn’t be happier with how our room turned out! The only problem is now I want her to design the rest of our house!

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Alison Hammatt. We moved into our house a year ago, but it never felt quite right until Alison worked her magic. She redesigned our master bedroom and office, and the results are amazing. Alison's expertise shines in her suggestions for paint colors, fabrics, light fixtures and furniture choices. She always welcomed our input and was a true partner in the whole process. It's clear that she loves what she does, and it makes her extremely fun to work with. We couldn't be happier with the outcome, and we recommend Alison to anyone who is looking for help with interior design.

Alison recently worked on our home in Newport, RI. I wanted to update a few rooms and bathrooms to make them more functional, yet still have it flow together with the rest of the house. I am blown away with the results! Our home has never looked or felt better. Alison made crucial decisions in how to best utilize our budget. She knew which professionals to call and where to get the most bang for our buck in terms of choosing fabrics, furniture, tile, hardware, etc. She saved us hours of tedious decision making. She has impeccable taste and is a natural at understanding one’s own personal style. I was actually sad when our projects wrapped up because she was such a delight to work with!

My husband and I and knew we needed some professional decorating help to bring life and character into a handful of rooms. While I love interior design and tend to know what I like and don't like, I needed someone who had the time and knowledge to bring schemes and ideas to me, source amazing pieces and could work closely with vendors- really manage it all from top to bottom. My husband and I both work full-time + have a toddler so we needed someone who could organize it all for us. Enter Alison! From our very first consultation, I knew it was going to be a huge success working together. She understood our budget and was very conscious of the fact that everything needed to be kid/dog friendly. Nothing too delicate or precious, while still maintaining a very sophisticated and elevated look. We decided that the rooms that needed the most attention were the living room (previously completely empty since moving into this house back in the fall of 2020), the mudroom and the first floor powder bathroom. After our initial consultation, she came back to us with schemes for each of the rooms and we got to work! She would write up all her ideas and send it our way incredibly organized so all we had to do was say yes or no. If I didn't respond, she would send a friendly reminder, which I really appreciated. She nailed choosing fabrics, wallpapers and furniture that aligned with my aesthetic and often encouraged me to take a bit of a risk and go outside my traditional comfort zone. We found/landed on some incredible pieces and once all pieces had sign off, she placed orders and then handled all installation. An additional note- both the mudroom and powder bathroom were going through a complete renovation, and Alison worked seamlessly with our contractor to ensure timing of installation and measurements were correct. They did a ton of work behind the scenes together to ensure it all worked out. We just wrapped our project and wow, I cannot believe the transformation. We are beyond thrilled with the outcome and look forward to continuing to work with Alison on other rooms throughout the house! Overall, I can't recommend Alison Hammatt Home enough. From smaller scale projects to full-blown renovations working with an architect + contractor, she can do it all.

I highly recommend Alison Hammatt for your interior design needs! She has great taste, but also quickly picked up on my taste and advised me accordingly. I did an hour-long consult with her via zoom and it was incredibly productive. We went through 4 rooms in one hour, during which she advised me on window treatments, fabrics, paint colors, throw pillow strategy, and more to pull my rooms together. She was great at giving definitive opinions and direction when needed, but also made me feel empowered and confident in following my own direction on several decisions. All around, she was a pleasure to work and chat with, and I look forward to working with her again. Thank you Alison!!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Alison Hammatt Home to anyone who is thinking of working with a decorator. First and foremost, Alison is an excellent listener who wants your project to reflect you. Alison understood my vision and graciously accepted my must-haves/existing items for my living room, and then showed me numerous fabrics, furniture pieces and décor items that I had not seen and absolutely loved. All along the way, she communicated thoroughly and often with me and the vendors she researched and hired to take care of upholstery, furniture restoration, art, etc. Alison was patient with me while I considered all of our choices, and never made me feel pressured or rushed. I also delegated some decisions to Alison when I got decision paralysis, and I appreciate her confidence and ability to make sound choices on my behalf! Most importantly she pulled everything together into a cohesive scheme with the exact level of formality I was hoping for in my living room. I could not be happier with the process and the room! At the end of the day, a project that once felt daunting turned out to be a lot of fun thanks to Alison sharing her expertise, taste and ability to get things done!

Alison is a delight to work with. So patient and understanding and really loves what she does! I hired her to help me reimagine a playroom into a "big girl" room and the results are amazing: Sophisticated and elegant, but still playful and functional for a child's room! I particularly appreciated Alison's willingness to work with me on finding items to fit my budget. Thank you, Alison!

Alison did a terrific job and we loved working with her! We knew that we wanted to re-decorate and upgrade our living room / dining room but had very little idea of what we wanted. She helped us through the design phase, sourcing different pieces of furniture, re-upholstering, finding art, getting everything hung up / installed, and even put in place all of the small knick-knack finishing touches. She was highly responsive and was a dream to work with. We LOVE our new space!!

Alison designed the living room, dining room and foyer of my c. 1900 colonial and has delivered a gorgeous final product in record time. I appreciated that Alison was willing to build the rooms over time together rather than picking each item and detail up front, which allowed me to participate in the process more than with other designers I spoke with. This was important to me as I love design and, although I knew I was not equipped in terms of talent or time to execute this project, I was not willing to give up the "fun" of being involved. This probably drove her crazy but if so, she never let it show! I do like to think it helped Alison to really nail my style, though. Towards the end, she could tell I had decision fatigue and added in so many elements without me doing anything that make the rooms sing. She also managed service providers to perfection which helped everything come together quickly. Not only did she meet my "deadline" of being done for the holidays, I get to show off the house a few weeks before Christmas for a holiday party. I highly recommend Alison and think that you will find, like me, that your only regret in hiring her is that the rest of your home will look shabby in comparison to the part that she worked on!

Alison transformed my home in ways I never thought were possible. She listened to all of my ridiculous ideas and found a way to make the different spaces exactly what I wanted. I walk into all of the different rooms and knowing they are thoughtfully designed but also homey and cozy. Alison is organized and responsive and was more than a pleasure to work with on a project that is so dear to my husband and me — our forever home. We can’t thank her enough for her expertise and professionalism and for always finding pieces that we love even when we couldn’t figure out what we wanted ourselves. She’s the best!
