I met Leigh Ann Raines of Chic By Design at a parade of homes event in Winston-Salem, NC in 2017. I was impressed with how she had staged a show home, and she walked me through explaining her inspiration for the design of each room. And, of her consultation with the soon to be owners of the home. I hired Leigh Ann to help me update my home, and office. Honestly, I did not have a large budget to work with, but what she was able to do was amazing! From furniture choices, paint, lamps, fixtures, and art, my home is something I am proud of, and positively thrilled with. I highly recommend Leigh Ann Raines! I recently moved to the area and had some work done to the house we purchased. Leigh Ann was recommended to me by a local furniture store as I was having trouble figuring out what furniture I needed for my space. Leigh Ann helped us select furniture, rugs and light fixtures. She worked well with me to incorporate what I already owned into the new space. She has some great vendors that she has established relationships with and that helped save money when shopping. She encouraged me to go outside my comfort zone but was never pushy. In doing this our space feels really fun but is functional, warm and cozy. Just what I envisioned, I just did not know how to pull it together. Her pricing is very fair. We did not have a big budget or big project but she made us feel very valued as a client. We recommend her highly and are really happy with the way our home turned out!!!

Leigh Ann has been great to work with to date. We hired her a little late in our process with our contractor, but she has gone all out to help us get caught up and make great design and style decisions. She has adjust to our schedule where necessary and pushed to hold us to task on deadlines in an appropriate and professional fashion. We have not completed this project with her yet, but we are definitely impressed so far. My wife is a huge fan as well, and she is a much more challenging critic. Project cost is for Leigh Ann's services, NOT the entire project budget.

Leigh Ann was truly a joy to work with. I just moved into my new home and gave her a rush job to finish decorating the entire place. She did it all within budget and my house is now a home. She promised me I wouldn't lift a finger, and I didn't. She has a great eye for the big items and the little knick-nacks that accentuate each room. Even though her job with me was completed, she's STILL helping me find people to make my home better. She's the best.

I hired Chic By Design to provide design services for the remodel of my home that I was putting up for sale, in addition to staging the home. Leigh Ann is simply the best in every way. Honest, caring, professional, accurate, hard working, excellent taste, courteous, and so many more points to mention. She really knows her work and brings solid experience and perspective to every aspect of the home. Leigh Ann made sure that dollars were allocated to areas that would bring the greatest return, while providing a cohesive look and feel throughout the home. She incorporated touches that brought high impact for little cost, things I would never have envisioned, such as molding along the staircase that brought elegance and sophistication to otherwise overlooked square footage. Her creativity is exceptional, including converting an unavoidable bulkhead into a china display making it look dressed up and intentional, something attractive and not obtrusive. Leigh Ann's attention to detail is unparalleled. She made a kitchen that seemed small for the size of the home appear spacious by using light colors, incorporating paneled appliances and simple details like adding a curve in the kitchen sink cornice and carrying the curve to the kitchen island. She really knows how to seamlessly integrate existing elements with new updates. For example, the travertine showers in two bathrooms were in good shape but we needed to replace the flooring and cabinetry. She chose an updated floor tile and laid the tile in a different pattern for each bathroom that provided the optimal look to suite each space. It was a simple detail, but one the trades would have overlooked. Her clever use of materials such as the counter tops used throughout the house enabled cost savings while making everything look fresh, high-end and new. When it comes to paint color, I trust Leigh Ann to make the right decision every time. She saved me from making some costly mistakes, always explaining and showing me which options work best. In no time at all I trusted her 100% to pick out whatever she thought would look best, as I knew it would look and function great, and she'd be mindful of the budget. Another important thing to note is Leigh Ann's ability to work with a diverse array of people. She's bilingual which proved especially helpful when communicating with the crews. She has so many talents, including being able to install a mirror that my handyman couldn't manage (no kidding). In terms of staging, her work was almost too good. The family submitting the first offer fell so in love with the house that they literally wanted everything, including all furnishings and decor. Needless to say, it showed beautifully. I can't say enough good things about Leigh Ann and her team at Chic By Design. My wife wants her help with design for our new home which speaks for itself. Her technical skills are outstanding and her personal service is exceptional. I give her my highest recommendation. She's an award-winning designer for a reason and I'm appreciative of her work to help sell my home.

Chic By Design is a wonderful company to work with! Leigh Ann's staging and designing skills are absolutely the best! We used Chic By Design to stage our empty, newly remodeled home to sell it. She had to fill a large 4 bedroom home and she did so, beautifully! The house looked amazing! Everyone that came to the Open Houses commented on the furniture and that they wanted to buy the house fully furnished because they loved the look so much! "The long and short of it…. and this is such a testament..to Liegh Ann (and my broker) I had an accepted offer 105k over asking within 4 days of the first open house and the icing on the cake was the buyer loved the staging so much they are buying all the furniture too!" So, I found Leigh Ann on the Houzz website as I was looking to stage my house. After spending quite some time scrolling through, I was drawn to her site as her style caught my eye as not looking like your typically "staged" homes, which for some reason tend to all look the same to me. I knew my house would need to appeal to someone artistic and with great taste as it's in a very expensive and desirable neighborhood. The challenge for me was that I was occupying my home with only a few pieces of furniture and needed help on how to stage it in a short amount of time and on a small budget. I hired Leigh Ann for a consultation and it was definitely money well spent!! FIrst off she has such a warm, pleasant, friendly, inviting and patient personality. We walked each room of my 3 br 3 ba house and she was so helpful in observing the focal points of each room that needed to be highlighted in order to accentuate the positive so to speak. Things that you would never think of but that made sense as you envision what would go through the mind of a prospective buyer. After our consultation, Leigh Ann educated me on estate sales and even went above and beyond as to accompany me to one in which we had complete success in purchasing the large key items I needed on my list. She also put me in touch with a great upholsterer and was all around super generous and helpful. The long and short of it…. and this is such a testament.. Leann was amazing from the moment she came to my home for her interview. She has impeccable taste and is truly passionate about design. She not only helped me stage my home--which sold in 3 days, over asking--but helped me with the final touches in terms of paint and lighting. She has an incredible wealth of knowledge about esthetics and her level of professionalism made the ordeal of selling my home, that much easier. The project consisted of updating two rooms, quest bedroom and breakfast area. Leigh Ann was always on time and returned phone calls timely. The guest bedroom consisted of new linens and a new lamp. She was very easy to work with, we went shopping at a store she suggested and the finished room came out great. The breakfast area needed a new table and 4 chairs. She presented 4 options and a decision was made. We took a trip to the store for in person look. The room needed a change and I, and my friends who visit just love the new look.
