Confluence Design

We selected Sustainable Living Environments from Houzz in part because of the LEED sensibility. We live in a strawbale home and are sensitive to ensuring sustainability in our home and related projects, Barb Kelsall fit the bill. Upon our first meeting when she drove out to our home and was enthusiastic about the project I knew she was the one - she got it! It is important for us to work with a design professional who is flexible and understands what is important to us both in terms of design and the execution of the project. Barb created a wonderful, eclectic design for our basement bathroom and budget/eco-friendly solutions for our basement ceilings that fit into our existing vision. The outcome is fantastic and we are thrilled with the results. Sustainable Living Environments is about thoughtful and meaningful design services and Barb certainly delivered on all counts. In addition to being a lovely person who understood our needs, she created floor plans, elevations and the overall design choices - as well as finding a competent person to execute the work. I have done many home projects and one of the biggest challenges can be working with the different trades, it was especially important that Barb was able to recommend a contractor who was adaptable to our unique needs and a pleasure to work with. Additionally, she provided support throughout the decision-making process and went above and beyond in acquiring the elements (particularly the amazing tile!) for the project. We would love to work with Barb again in the future, she's that good!

Our family have had the pleasure of living in a home designed and built by Sustainable Living Environments. This LEED Platinum Certified Home is filled with natural light, captures views yet provides privacy and is a quiet, comfortable and peaceful sanctuary to return to every day. Barb Kelsall did outstanding work designing our LEED Platinum home. In addition to her interior design genius, our home is really comfortable, and uses almost no electricity and gas! But most importantly, Barb's follow-up on the inevitable small things that needed attention after we bought the home has been excellent. Barb helped us design our kitchen. She was great at listening to what we wanted and then finding options that would fit with the aesthetic we were going for, but provide a better fit with what we already had picked out. Where she really shone though is in coming up with innovative designs and working with our cabinet makers when we ran into challenges. We could not be happier with how pretty and totally functional our kitchen is now and that would not have happened without Barb's guidance. Can't recommend her highly enough!
