Art consultant and curator for Aspen, Vail, and Colorado's mountain towns. One belief after a decade: art gives a room its voice. I'm Michelle Cook, founder of Curated Collections, based in Carbondale, and I help homeowners, interior designers, and architects with the part of a project most people find intimidating: finding art that actually belongs. That means listening first, then sourcing from galleries, art fairs, and artists' studios, coordinating framing that can stand up to mountain light, and overseeing installation down to the last detail. Whether it's one meaningful piece for the living room or a collection built over years, the goal is always the same: rooms that feel collected, not staged. A few things make my approach different. I studied both Art History and Finance at the University of Denver, so I care as much about honest budgets and smart purchases as I do about beauty. I work on a transparent project-fee basis, so you know the full cost before we begin. My background includes award-winning art programs for international luxury brands and boutique hotels, and today I also serve as chair of the Town of Carbondale's Arts in Public Places committee. Mostly, though, I believe choosing art should be a joy, not a chore.
