About Us

Design is in my heart My mission and commitment is that your needs always lead the design process; that we create a space where you feel comfortable, and the space makes sense for its intended use. I use a circle in my logo as a constant focus that the client desire is at the center of everything I do. My first true interior design project was my college dorm room at the University of Toronto. I created a ceiling of clouds with thumb tacks and hand painted sheets, and a wall of vinyl records behind the seating area that was made from plywood and upholstered cushions. Over the past 30+ years my sensibilities have changed and expanded. I have a unique perspective and eye for design to bring to the table. Having the fortune to travel the world and see the greatest architecture and art created by man has given me a hands-on education of historical and contemporary structures of all periods, including modern additions and remodels to the most historic of buildings. Designers, like artists, are known for their particular style. You see the design, hear the song, see their art and immediately recognize the work and are able to attribute it to the artist or designer. When you see the Mona Lisa you think of Rembrandt. When you see Mission or Arts and Crafts style furniture or homes you think of Stickley, and when you think of a controversial artist known for dark humor, political satire and street art you think of Bansky. Likewise, with many interior designers, they have a signature style they are comfortable working with. I am not pinned down to a particular style. With my unique background combined with my instinctive curiosity, I constantly strive to create a space that encompasses the vision and needs of my clients. As seen in my testimonials and portfolio, I am equally comfortable creating a traditional design as I am creating a minimalist design – or any combination in between. I truly love to challenge myself and create that dream space for my client – whatever their design esthetic may be! Debi

Our project was a brand new build with a blank slate. Debi guided us in choosing colours, designs and furniture for our condo space. Since we're new to the area we appreciated her expertise in sourcing vendors and qualified contractors. We're very pleased with our results.

Working with Debi on my Toronto condo just over two years now it is done. You can never be really done but we are finally at that point where we can say everything we set out to achieve has been completed. Striking a balance between excellent design and not over designed for a comfortable bachelor pad has turned out better than I expected. I feel odd using the words bachelor pad as if I wanted a home done in black leather disco balls and hidden speakers. I don't mind black leather or hidden speakers but prefer a more quite home. When I started working with Debi her skill was in being able to get that vision onto paper and then into my condo. All I had was a sense of what felt good to me. She had to draw that out and she did it so well it is mind-blowing how superb I feel when I get home and walk in the door. She worked within my budget using her trade discounts to help keep costs in line. Her communication is above par. On occasion we butted heads and compromised over fabric or once on a chair so she can compromise and she taught me to compromise. She was right about the chair! Debi is very very smart. She has a lot of common sense and is an immense problem solver. You want her on your side if you are doing a lengthy project like mine. She can see the big picture rapidly and you need that when you have over 2500 sq feet and will be spending a few years with your designer. You also need your designer to have a personality be emathetic and to be funny. Which she is.

Debi helped me design and build my corner fireplace. That project had been at a major standstill for me as I didn't know how to proceed or what trades to call to get framing and stonework done. Debi put this all together for me and I loved the result. She also suggested a coordinating backsplash in my kitchen to match fireplace in my open concept kitchen/family room. She went the extra mile to make sure I was completely satisfied, even travelling down to tile supplier with me to pick the perfect stone.

Debi & Bruce worked on my apartment for 6 weeks to take it from a disaster to a beautiful welcoming space. Debi is very knowledgeable about design, art, architecture, upholstery antiques, renovations, any kind of repair needed for the home. Her Interior designs are beautiful and practical. She listened to what I wanted and needed and put those things in the design. He designs are unique and one of a kind. Not like some magazine picture. It was perfect just for me and my life. She knows how to use auctions and other sales and discounts to save money and will get her hands dirty by painting or plastering to help out. Bruce works very hard beside Debi to make sure the designs she has created come out exactly as they looked on paper. They are a perfect team together and I highly recommend their services.

Debbi kindly helped me when I was going through a difficult divorce and was selling my house. The house was not up to date because my ex worked out of the country for months and I worked long hours. Debbi took care of the design and remodel on her own. She also de-cluttered the house, something I was not able to manage myself. Debbi was very professional and qualified. Her knowledge of design and managing the project and trades people was perfect. The job was done sooner than I expected and did come in under budget. Mainly because Debbi is creative and finds solutions to re-purpose things to save money. I also have to say that Debbi is very kind and compassionate. She has a good sense of humor that helped me at a difficult period.
