I love knowing that Desiree has the ability and resources to design large projects, and she is willing to work on small jobs like mine. I have a large collection of framed pictures which I love. After moving, for five years, all my pictures were stacked on the floor until I met Desiree. She worked quickly, suggested layouts, listened when I made suggestions, and arranged pictures for each room. She even hammered nails into the walls. Desiree quickly eyed up my family room and moved furniture, making the room feel comfortable and cozy. Before Desiree - my family room never felt like a family room. Desiree has a good eye, and she quickly designed accessory arrangements for every room of the house. She even helped me select the perfect color brick paver for an outdoor walkway and patio. When we brought on Desiree, she quickly understood our project goals as our home was quickly transforming as we were expecting our first born last summer. She drove the budget and phasing conversations and introduced the professionals necessary to execute the work during early concepts in order to maintain cost and schedule goals. Her experience allows spaces within the home to be utilized in ways otherwise not thought possible. As part of our project we transformed our guest bedroom into a nursery, refinished our kitchen and dining room, refurnished our lower level, and general furnishings throughout. Desiree also had an eye for our existing furniture and decorations and provided new ideas for reuse, which helped manage our budget. Our phase 1 was completed on budget and schedule and we are looking forward to phase 2 which will consist of building out shelving and cabinetry into existing family room and kitchen walls to maximize space and storage while adding decorative touch and overall resale value to our home. We are much happier in our space today!

I am a busy bachelor with no spare time but knew I needed to update/upgrade my apartment so I hired DM Designs. I met with Desiree and explained what I was thinking and what I was hoping to be the end result. She was extremely professional, yet very personal and had some great idea so I basically let her come up with what she saw fit. I gave her my budget and set a date. DM Designs FAR exceeded my expectations!! I am so happy with my home and feel like a real modern adult when I come home. Desiree is someone I will never forget for the rest of my life and rightfully so. My grandfather, a beyond beloved member of our family had a stroke and suddenly everything in our lives felt like it was about to take a huge change from him being independent living with my parents to potentially not being able to walk. I (his granddaughter) was living in a different state and wanted to help my parents in someway as they were spending 24/7 with him at the hospital. I knew that my parents wouldn't want me to do any of the things I was thinking and felt like we would just manage. I contacted many people on HOUZZ with a heavy hearted request which I knew was impossible: to help me re-do his room to make it great in about 3-4 days (we weren't sure when he we would discharged, and I needed to have this done before he arrived) for someone who may need a wheelchair or walker and have the room be inviting for family members to also spend time in the room. His room had built up over 30 years of things and it was daunting. Diseree was the only person that made me feel like she cared and understood how changing a room for my grandfather could mean the world to a family and the man himself. She had a grandparent she was incredibly close to as well, and she made this personal..which is exactly what it was to me. She came in, assessed the situation, and used all her resources (clearly this woman is connected and have people that love her) to help me do everything from top to bottom: take out clutter, disassemble wall shelving units, and most importantly find pieces in the room that would work for different situations I described i.e..."he may not be able to get out of bed on this side", but he still would want to" or, he is particular about a side table being heavy and at this height, or i would like a couch to be welcoming so that people can relax on it or even sleep on it if needed but not too big because the room isn't huge! The list when on and on and she somehow managed to find pieces that wouldn't contradict the multiple situations that could happen. She did all of this with this amazing attitude that it could be done and we would make this work with the the budget that I had. While she was out looking for pieces traveling to different places, and sending me pictures and texts, she was sending people to help me organize the room and making sure I always felt comfortable with who was coming and what was being done. I am a professional myself, and people at Diseree's level usually don't make time for the small projects that are probably more of a headache than a masterpiece. For my grandpa, this room was a masterpiece and Diseree changed the feeling of a room, the space within the room, and most importantly made my grandpa's life just a little better because ….space truly does affect our consciousness. She was beyond professional and from the moment she took on this project, I felt her 100% commitment to making this work with a lot of pressure and restrictions. My grandpa is a picky guy with colors and the room could be amazing to my young eye and a disaster to his wise old tastes. She just understood what I needed. She never made me feel judged and I think this is huge when you are working with someone with as much talent as she has.

Desiree brought us great design ideas and also listened to what was important to us. She is great at describing her vision and why her selections make sense. She certainly instilled a sense of trust that was essential as we were somewhat unsure of exactly what we wanted. I would wholeheartedly endorse DM Designs services especially if you are looking for someone in whom you can feel absolutely confident that your point of view is being appreciated while also being respectfully and creatively expanded.

Desiree was phenomenal to work with. She provided information and sketches in a timely manner as well as plenty of samples for us to choose from for our kitchen remodel. She also was great in providing us links for various kitchen accouterments (sinks, faucets, etc) to help us finalize some aspects of the kitchen. We are extremely happy with the results and our new kitchen. The whole project took a little longer than planned as the contractors had multiple projects at the same time. However, the contractors she hired for various parts of the remodel were friendly and efficient in their work with us. They were also clean while they worked and respectful of the house. We'd recommend using DM Designs.

I had the pleasure of working closely with DM Designs this year when she purchased bathroom cabinetry and medicine cabinets through the company I work for. Desiree has an impressive eye for design and is dedicated to her clients. I would recommend her services to anyone looking for a fresh and unique look in their living space.

Desiree turned a small 600 sq foot studio on the 87th floor of The John Hancock Building into a spacious time warped den from the 1970's. Everything from the herringbone floors imported from France to the exquisite art decor. Very pleased with the process and completion from DM Designs!

I worked with Desiree on a major renovation of my large 7,000 square foot house in Evanston. She transformed the place with her keen sense of color and style, her attention to detail and her creativity. I really appreciated the fact that Desiree doesn't just go spend your money to make your project look good - she is always hunting for special deals and discounts to maximize the value for money. I also really appreciated her customer-centric attitude. When she knew I had family visiting, she worked all day and night to make sure the place was all set up including fresh flowers in the rooms! Hired Desiree after looking at her work on Houzz. We are DIY remodelers, she was totally open to listening to our thoughts and making recommendations. Our in town condo is a work in progress and she has been great with her suggestions and recommendations, even though we are slow to make progress because we are doing much of the work ourselves.
