I remember walking into NYC Bloomingdale's & immediately feeling a happy syrup pour over me (like I won the lottery)! I felt INVIGORATED, INSPIRED, RESILIENT like I could change the world! Yeah, the space made me feel that good. I'll never forget that feeling - it still fuels me today. After 20+ years of industry experience, & having a no-nonsense family, I think it's super important we START THE INTERIOR DESIGN PROCESS AT CONCEPTION - figuring out your individual goals, desired look, brand, budget & timeline. Great things are created when people ask the right questions & stop to actually listen. Susie helped us with a family room remodel. Her pricing was competitive. Really listened to our needs/wants and designed and executed a great plan. Was able to integrate a main living space with a 2 yr-olds play area. Couldn’t be happier with the results! We will be using again.

I am a licensed contractor with a BA in Architecture from ASU. We specialize in custom interiors and furniture since 1986. I have worked with Susie and her team on several projects including upscale high rise apartments in downtown San Diego. They are very professional and work well with even my most challenging clients. My husband and I have lived at our current town house for last 14 years. This year we lost our view of the bay due to construction of a very modern 3 unit 4 level townhouse complex. It was a little depressing but we decided to stay put. I figured that if we redecorate our house, we would feel a little better. So glad I was right!.
I found Susie St. John at Embrio through Houzz and so glad I did. Like her ideas the most suited to my needs among other interior decorators on the site.
She was available very soon and we clicked on first meeting. She understood what I wanted and quickly presented options and ideas. She also kept planning and items within our budget. It was an exciting time and a little sorry it is almost completed. Love my new furniture and the art on the walls. This is our forever home for sure! Thanks to Suzie.

Susie St. John of Embrio Design Studio designed the complete renovation of our kitchen and master bedroom. Working with her was a great experience from beginning to end. We wanted a modern mid-century look and Susie not only understood our vision but improved on it with excellent suggestions and ideas. She is extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of designs, options and materials and worked with us within our budget to ensure quality purchases, craftsmanship, design and style. Susie's large network of connections to vendors and suppliers of unique and quality materials was invaluable. Communication was excellent and she kept in touch with us through fast response emails, phone calls and face to face meetings. Excellent is all I can say. We have plans for additional remodeling in the future and Susie will be the first person we call. I strongly recommend Embrio Design Studio and look forward to working with Susie again.

Susie St. John at Embrio Design Studio was wonderful to work with in the redesign and remodeling of our San Diego downtown condo. Susie is an excellent listener. She incorporated our wishes and dreams while at the same time nudging us out of our "comfort zone" to create a beautiful new home that went beyond our expectations. Susie was able to accomplish this project on time and on budget. She supervised the whole project and served as our "onsite" coordinator while we were out of state. Her regular and helpful communication with us and our contractors made the successful renovation of our condo possible. We recommend Susie St. John enthusiastically and without reservation.
